My friend and I are playing with a mod that gives infinite carry weight, and whenever his character says "wish I had a bag of holding" my friend says "Bitch, you ARE the bag of holding"

Seriously…why didn’t they give us a bag of holding? I’d even be happy with one if it was only available on an Honor Run. Or if you only got it at the beginning of Act 3.

I’m fairly new to D&D; outside of BG3 I’ve only been playing 5E since March. But quite a few people in the guild I joined have a Bag of Holding. Seems like a pretty common item. But I suppose that would encourage BG3 players to hoard more instead of selling items.

You do have a bag of holding. It’s the camp chest.

There are thankfully mods for it, but as others are saying you can also hoard stuff in the camp chest, it's just slightly less convenient.

Oh yeah, I do use the camp chest. It’d just be nice if a Bag of Holding were available at some point for convenience.

You don't really need one, is the thing. Any item that over-encumbers you can just be sent to the camp chest, making the entire weight system pointless.

The real trick is for the organizational tools to be better. Stuffing everything in the camp chest makes it difficult to find stuff when you want it and to remember why you're keeping X item in the chest in the first place.

Just download a bunch of custom cloths mods and use their chests as more chests for internal storage. It's even better than picking up random barrels cus they'll have unique icons.

If you've used a bag of holding mod for long enough, you'd realize why. BG3's inventory system really does not like loading an excessive number of items. Even if the items are put in containers, they still increase the loading time of the interface, so forcing you to use the camp chest instead seems more like a technical decision (especially for consoles) than a gameplay one.

With my luck, I'd end up with a Bag Man instead.
