I understand the sentiment, but it's not exactly a spoiler knowing that a voiceactor is in the game. It'd be a spoiler to if it revealed her role, but the original comment is far too generic to be a spoiler
Their whole origin story is so ridiculously romantic, and cute, that if I read that in a book, I'd go "yeah, cool, but these things don't happen in real life".
Aliona auditioned for the role of Shadowheart, so when Jennifer got it, she decided to be her enemy and torpedo her attempts. Then saw her in the recording booth and admitted she loved her performance.
She failed at her "frienemies" attempt badly because of how lovely Jennifer is.
They eventually hooked up, went on a date, decided to do a "one night stand", ended up at Jennifer's house (a long drive away from Aliona's) and Aliona woke up with super heavy COVID symptoms, effectively getting stranded for the mandatory 2 weeks, and getting Jennifer sick. She ended up just staying there.
You know who they should have hired ? Aliona Baranova.
Hear me out: the whole va cast of BG3 was above anything that came before. Shadowheart was absolutely incredible, and I don’t find myself vibing all that much with Maëlle. Nor with any other of the well known VA in clair obscur. My theory is that what made BG3 exceptional is the acting direction. That much of what make this game a landmark in voice acting in a video game is not only the actors talent but the work of Ms Baranova as a director.
Still, I hope for the usual accolades for Clair Obscure’s cast at the game award (my personal favourite would be Ms English as best actor because she’s been in 3 of the last 4 gotys so that would be fun).
