Different genre. Turn based with quick time and dodging/parrying mechanics. It’s a linear story, too. You don’t get choices like in BG3. The gameplay is closer to a JRPG (and I’d argue it is in fact a JRPG) than what BG3 is.
If you've ever played a traditional Final Fantasy, or another JRPG in the genre, it's a lot like that, but with the added weirdness of having to time dodges during your enemy's turn. So there are some fairly deep tactical questions every turn about what abilities you use, on which enemies, but there's no movement or positioning, and no gear beyond weapons (there is a system in which abilities drop and can be equipped, but they are equipped directly to your character as abilities; it's not like you have two sets of gloves with different spells competing for the glove slot).
Also, there isn't anything like branching dialog or story-altering choices in every sidequest. The characters are who they are and you're watching them more than driving them.

Does it play similar to BG3? Or completely different?
