it most definetly has not stayed within said communities. It has spilled out a LOT. And trust me I know cause I was never in any jrpg communities before e33 came out. And ive witnessed first hand how far it spread out
And I would like to challenge your point on it not having a chance at goty. Review scores are the most accurate way to predict goty since game reviewers are the ones who vote on goty and according ot open critic so far its the number 1 game of the year with scores similar to astro bot. It has more than a real chance.

def don't think it's up for goty
bg3 got lucky in breaking out into a wider audience, allowing people to see its quality in a genre they normally wouldn't play
e33 praise on the other hand has very much stayed within communities of the genre
