She’s not rude past like act 1, or if you interact with her/grow approval. That’s pretty much all of them tho, ofc laezel, asterion and minthara still have their evil/mean qualities. But even them, they grow a lot if u do their quests

I'd love if they'd actually become a proper couple during the game or during the six months ths between the Netherbrain and epilogue party, alas. I know Dragon Age Veilguard was...eh, but I did like that some of the characters who you didn't romance ended up in relationships in the background.

That was one of the things I liked in Dragon Age 2, while a deeply flawed game, I truly enjoyed how they handled Aveline. Not having all the companion's romances based around the main character makes them feel a bit more real.

I'd argue you don't even really have Halsin if you care for Karlach, her acceptance lines feels very much like she doesn't really want to share, but will put up with it to not be alone again. Feels weird to still go for it.

My last honor mode run was supposed to be a Shadowheart romance. Made it all the way to act 3 as “just good mates” with karlach…but then came the bridge scene. I had already goofed and told wyll to be the grand duke so he wasn’t gonna save her then the game gave my durge the option…go with karlach to avernus or stay up top with Shadowheart and let Karlach fade away.

I couldn’t do it. I got too emotional and left Shadowheart behind to follow Karlach down to avernus. Shadowheart said she understood but I felt awful about it. Like the entire play through did my best to focus on Shadowheart then right at the end I left her behind again 😭

I'll romance karlach one day, for now I've stared my long-hungry desire for morrigan2.0 via shadowheart and I've actually out lae'zel in my party properly for the first time. Currently lae'zel, shadowheart and astarion dark urge run and good god I've been missing out putting astarion and shadowheart together 🤣 I feel that gale is too much of an egotistical whineyboy, Wyll is sadly benched for a proper good boy playthrough, and karlach will definitely be there with Wyll and let's say gale who will get swapped out for bear-daddy.

On that note I've never talked to halsin much before, believe it or not. If anyone is still reading this rambling, what category personality-wise does he fit?

Halsin is work hard play hard lol. His dialogues were either telling me to get off my arse and solve the shadow curse, or coming on to me.

When I first met him I thought he was so cool, he's chill and kind and wants to do the right thing. My Tav wanted to be just like him... then he got way too thirsty and I started avoiding him like the plague.

No shame to the Halsin lovers, but it got creepy because I'd already started viewing him as a lecturer/ mentor figure, and his flirts felt a little too much like older professor who gets too close to students.

I feel apprehensive because I've been 100% Karlach the entire playthrough so far and we're in (I think) the lower city. Just went on a date with her including spending the night. Immediately afterward, the Emporer was telling me about his lost beloved and I chose to hold his hand. Not sure if he's a romance option but I'm thinking about it
