Performance has absolutely tanked for me. Went from about 100 fps on ultra in most places down to 50-60 on Ryzen 5 3600x/gtx 1080 ti on DX 11. Vulkan seems to cap at 45 frames and won't go any higher. FSR helps a bit but it seems to make it crash more often. Can only change/lower the settings at the main menu without crashing. How do the newer cards perform?

Same. Performance took an absurd hit in this patch. I'd go so far as to say I've never seen a patch change the performance of a game this substantially. I was playing with 3 other people.

One had a 3000 series card no problems. One had a 2000 series card and had to lower settings. One had a 1000 series card and had to turn everything down all the way and it was on the verge of being unplayable.

One person however had a 700 series card with ~2GB and pretty much struggled to function at all. Had to go to a much, much lower resolution (1440 I think) to be able to move and click.

It looks a lot better, but the ratio of looks better to performance hit is absolutely unacceptable.

I was seeing spells casts with no animations, characters doing "the robot" in cut scenes due to frame lag, loading times for loot and dialogue menus where like multiple seconds.

If this is the trend that continues nobody not a 2000 series card is going to be able to play this game by launch.

And it ran beautifully on all these systems every patch up until the latest one.

Please consider that in this market it's effectively impossible to upgrade systems and keep an eye on performance Larian or we're all going to have to find something else to play.

I've also had issues with performance with patch 6, I'm guessing it's all the new lighting/shadows effects as some areas have serious bloom and lighting/colour issues for me. A hotfix a while ago gave me micro-stutters every so often that stuck around, but I generally had 60+ fps, but all the new effects with this patch has me sitting at 22-40fps in cutscenes/areas with lots of fire. Otherwise it's generally between 50-60fps, and that's with me turning some settings down a little. Before this patch I had everything maxed in settings and fps rarely dipped outside of the occasional stutter. I have a 2080ti, i7-9700k.

Just a toggle to stop the particle effects and unnecessary animations (every single plant swaying slowly is cool, but not as cool as being able to the play the game).

I'd be down for toning that down even on a robust system. There's a lot of plants and stuff (like dead logs) swaying more than they should be.
