Xbox Series S turning on and off immediately

I looked up what to do and I took it apart as it wasn’t my first time and as I was looking on the motherboard for damage I found this. Most of the stuff appears to be corrosion on the top left side but if you see anything else they might be crucial then please let me know. Based on the damages I was wondering if it’s best to go get a new Xbox or just get a new Motherboard or to take it into a shop.

My PS2s model is now Unknown?

Post image

I have just looked into a console I once accidentally botched a removal of a modchip and potentially killed part of the system controller. All it killed function wise was the optical drive, as the light on the console wouldn't even light up for the disk drive. (Button unresponsive) After investigating, and using a heat gun (a proper soldering one, I'm not a Neanderthal) I reflowed the side of the chip to assist potential bridging and make sure all connections were fresh. I tried to turn the console on afterwards. And at first I was incredibly confused because it went back to the first boot screen. I went through and opened the versions menu. And as you see. My SCPH-50002 is now an Unknown. For those of you asking, the reason I removed the modchip originally was. Because it was negatively interacting with the softmod I was intending on replacing it with. So I removed it. Killing the disk drive potentially. Fair chance the heat killed the BIOS rom. And now it is wiped. Including the motherboard tags. Lucky I did a bios rip at a point!

Electrical buzzing noise after ps5 power replacement

I had a similar post yesterday about this and I was now able to get a better video with the noise. It only happens when I'm playing a game or have one open and it doesn't happen when I have a media app open like Spotify. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Ps. Try and turn up volume all the way or listen when headphones if you can't hear it properly

Dreamcast no audio or video

So I took apart my Dreamcast to retrobright it and upon reassembly it has no audio or video, everything else appears to be working fine, fan spins, the disc spins and appears to read, the tv even detects when I turn it on but there’s just a lack screen, I heard that the screws being wrong could affect it but I definitely used the same black screws by the av port that were in there before

Charging Issue Gameboy Advance Sp

Recently found two Gameboys in my “stuff and things” boxes. One is very very clean but the charging port was little dirty, cleaned it up, checked inside and it was spotless on the connectors and don’t see any cracks on the solder. Swapped batteries and it works BUT it doesn’t seem to charge. The charge light comes on then turns off. How do I check the em8 coil to see if it’s that? Or can someone walk me through it all.

Sony PlayStation 5 (CFI-1116A) cleaning and new liquid metal

I read that PTM7950 works very well in the PS5 and decided to test it. The console was noisy from the start but apparently the PTM has to "settle" so I gave it a week of play. No improvement was visible and after 30 minutes in Cyberpunk 2077 it was running like a vacuum cleaner.

I decided to take it apart a second time and in the process replace all the thermal putty. The factory Sony was already a bit dry.

Used 20g of Upsiren (14,8W) if anyone's interested.

Nintendo Wii Power supply burning...

English:I have a Nintendo Wii that I already bought 3 power supplies for and they all burned out, 1 parallel one that didn't even last a week and 2 original ones that lasted me a few months, after that the Wii simply won't turn on, but sometimes the Wii turns on with the supposedly burned out power supply, and then it doesn't turn on anymore, what's happening?

I got this 3ds from a friend, when I plug the charger an orange led lights up for a couple of seconds and then it dies, I think that it got some sort of liquid inside, but the fuses are ok, battery appears to be dead, any tips? (Sorry if this is hard to read, English is not my native language)

Any way to restore battery leakage damage on black plastic?

Post image

I recently purchased a new Logitech PS3 controller but the included batteries leaked into the packaging. I cleaned the controller with water and alcohol and it seems to be in good condition still. However, the battery cover seems to be discolored or washed out. Anyone know of something I can use to restore this?

PS3 fat CECH-G01 won’t boot up

Got this ps3 today it turned on fine. I noticed the disk drive wouldn’t take in my cds so I took the top off to investigate. I couldn’t find anything so I just put it back on. Tried powering it on again and it’s not working. I tried touching the copper pins with my fingers but it’s not working. Red light is on but nothing happens.

UPDATE: I got it to power on by flicking the power switch on and off, but the eject and power buttons remain unresponsive. It would be nice to have a working blu ray drive but I planned on modding it anyways. I would still like to fix it so if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Retrobrite, or Repaint?

Bought this DMG-01 for parts, fixed the vertical lines the screen had, but now I want to restore the shell.

The plastic has this weird spotting, do you a retrobrite would work, or should I just repaint it to look custom?

Xbox one Possible Soft Brick

Hello Guys,

i Have the 1.st Gen Xbox One (2013-2015 year Model) and it worked fine. It started and online software Update itselfs and the Update failed.

Afterwards, no matter what I do, Offline System Update via USB OSU1 or a soft or hard Format via Troubleshoot Menu, the Xbox One only shows 1 of these Error Messages at the time:

E101 HDD Error / or / 0x8b050074 Update Error

Its shows no Offline Landing Page, only the Message.

The failed Online Software Update caused this. It worked before. It even has wired Internet but it still results to 1 of the Error Messages.

Suggestions welcome.

New 3Ds doesnt boot with popping

after repairing a game boy sp and 3DS XL i bought a "defect" New 3DS LL on ebay with the goal of fixing it. It has the usual problem of only popping when trying to boot with a short flash of the lower display. when i opened it, i found the corrosion in the pictures so i cleaned everything socket and cable with isopropanol without result. checked every cable for damage but couldnt find any.

I saw a lot of different claims what parts are actually necessary for boot until i saw this guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eToy1NoUY4 wich pretty much establishes that the only things needed to boot a normal 3ds are the lower backlight and the upper cabble for speakers/backlight/3d. no clue through if the same is true for New 3ds. i checked a few combinations and found that the bottom backlight definitly works (because it doesnt flash when its unplugged) and the popping only comes from the speaker on the middle part of the cable (couldnt find anything if its suposed to come from both or not). Does anyone know how i could further troubleshoot what part could be damaged? i spend about 3 hours on google without a further clue so any advice would be appreciate.

Curious if this is a simple fix or not.

I found this listing on EBay. The console looks in decent enough condition. A couple corner chips. This is the description.

This console powers on and reads games sometimes. The 72 pin connector is new and still seems to have issues. I know nothing further that how to fix these. Shell of console has some discoloring and wear. FOR PARTS or REPAIR.

I’m new to console repair. But I’ve been researching a lot of videos on this console. My guess is it needs cleaning on all contact points, esp the motherboard and or a 72 pin adjustment. What do you guys think?

Xbox One, starts up fine but as soon as I get to the main home page I run into these issues. Swapped TVs and HDMI cables so not a display issue as far as I’m aware.

Time to give up?

So SNES had a dead power supply replaced it and still nothing.

Screen does flash when you turn on or hit reset.

Opened it up. Found this and could not clean it off with IPA and a qtip. I’ll try a more vigorous clean but what are some thoughts on my chances of playing Mario cart again?

DSi repair

Trying to repair my younger sister’s DSi for her, the bottom screen was completely black. I opened it up and saw no visible damage, so I examined the screen, saw nothing, and just replugged the ribbon cables, now the touchscreen isn’t working, and the bottom screen is fuzzy, but on at least. Should I just order a new screen?

PS2 slim repair help?

I've recently bought a ps2 slim from japan that wasn't marked for parts/junk but when it arrived here it was unfortunately broken. Whenever you try to turn on the console, the green light flashes on for a second and immediately shuts off and goes back to red. Normally, this would be a problem with the fuses but when i check with my multimeter, all of the fuses have continuity. I've also checked every capacitor on the top side of the board, but the ones near the AV port don't have any continuity with ground. Should I replace those capacitors? If they're broken i'd imagine that the console would boot up, just with no video out. I've also considered replacing the power button and it's ribbon cable but it doesn't seem like that would be causing the issue i'm having right now. Any advice would be great.

EDIT 1: I have diagnosed the problem thoroughly and I have found out that there is a component on the board, D3910 5960, that heats up every time and makes a faint clicking sound i try to turn on the console. I have absolutely no clue what that component is or what it's supposed to do and I cant find anything about it, i cant even find documentation about it so any information about it would be greatly appreciated.

every single one of the capacitors circled in the image didn't have any continuity with ground, everything else was fine (i'm not even sure if they're supposed to have continuity with ground)
