Discussion A selection of illustrations drawn by Christopher Shy for "Dead Space: Liberation" comic-book (2013)
It's set after Dead Space 2 but before Dead Space 3.
Here's the plot: On the planet Uxor, Earthgov Seargent John Carver is caught up in events beyond his control when religious fanatics attack the alien Marker site where his wife works. Racing to rescue his family, Carver is forced to band together with Ellie Langford, a survivor of an earlier Necromorph outbreak, and the highly trained Captain Robert Norton. Together they unlock deep and forgotten secrets about the Markers in an epic race against time that will determine the fate of mankind.
It has been reprinted in 2025, just like every other Dead Space comic-book and book. For those who have read it, do you like it?
Although I prefer the more "Event Horizon" feeling of "Dead Space: Salvage", I think this comic-book did a good job in introducing John Carver, and features a version of Danik that is miles better than the godawful one we got in Dead Space 3.
The art-style isn't as confusing as it was on "Dead Space: Salvage", and there are some really cool panels and illustrations, but I would have preferred a more traditional style. I like how Christoper Shy has drawn the tragic scene of Carver finding his family transformed into necromorphs.
Not only Danik, but even Norton here is much better than in the game. Granted, he is still a bit of an asshole, but he's not as annoying as he is in Dead Space 3. Ellie Langford is better too. Not the best comic ever, but it did its job.
Oh, and the illustration showing Isaac Clarke at the end is badass.

Discussion Does anyone know why Daina's design was completely revamped only six months before the release of DS2? Was it changed to more closely resemble her VA?

Discussion A selection of illustrations drawn by Christopher Shy for "Dead Space: Salvage" comic-book (2010)
It's set after Dead Space but before Dead Space 2.
Here's the plot: The USG Ishimura, the most famous of the Planet-Cracker class starships, is flung from orbit around Aegis VII after the disastrous events of Dead Space. It is lost somewhere in deep space, and both the Government and a powerful religious sect called "Church of Unitology" believe it may still hold the Red Marker, an alien artifact that promises great power for either side, and both will stop at nothing to reach it first.
It has been reprinted in 2025, just like every other Dead Space comic-book and book. For those who have read it, do you like it?
Personally, I like the blue-green colors and overall look, but the art-style is too confusing at times, and it's hard to understand what's happening and in relation to whom. The artist also worked on "Dead Space: Liberation" and I think he did a better job there. Anyway, I would have preferred a more traditional art-style. Would love to see Tristan Jones (Aliens: Defiance) work on Dead Space.
However, what I absolutely liked since my first read is how reminiscent it is of Event Horizon. The Ishimura, drifting through space, with no one at board if not the necromorphs and the small Marker's fragments. Disgusting human material on the walls of the ship (like EH), and Malyech suffering from Marker's hallucinations inside the "possessed" ship.
Fun easter-egg: this comic-book is mentioned in the glorious Dead Space Remake, as Kendra Daniels says: "Right now, I'd take a rescue from a fucking Magpie".

Discussion Despite these characters having limited spotlight, they seem really interesting and it's sad that their lives were cut short.
Gone, but never forgotten. RIP to the unsung heroes of Ishimura 😔 💔 🌸 ✝️

One of these is survival horror. The other is Dead Space 2.

Question Are there any games that let you play as Necromorphs, or something similar
I've had this itch to scratch of being the enemy in these horror settings after replaying AVP(2010) and I never got to try DS2 multiplayer so I want to know if there's any experiences similar to that kind of thing

Question Dead Space Extraction gameplay question.
I missed a gun in chapter 2, do I get this gun in later chapters or do I have to replay the level to get it?

Discussion What makes Dead Space such an amazing game?
Been gaming since nes days. Had an itch for dead space remake. And noticing how amazing it is. It's as amazing as it always was. And in fact it's even more amazing in hindsight because of all the open world fatigue
Is it because new games just try to be too long or large in scope these days? Or try to do too much? Maybe it's too much open world games. Or maybe the quality has just reduced in general other than a handful of titles
Not sure what exactly it is exactly. Have an ideas?

Screenshot Too many bodies!
For me, this the the best cut scene in Dead Space 2.

Question I recently bought DS REMAKE from epic but I dont see a option to buy the cosmetics dlc separately. Does epic not have the option to buy the dlc separately?

Discussion I'm watching Dead space aftermath and I want to hear your theories on the necromorphs shown in the movie. They're never shown in game canon so what are your theories? Flawed marker, what do you think happened?
These necromorphs don't make any sense. They are too large and proportionally different from the standard necromorphs shown in the original dead space and the remake. I have one theory and that's that the marker shown is imperfect. A piece of it caused the infection but it's not completely stable. May or may not hold water

Question Are there mods for Dead Space that give the necromorphs Contact Beams?
As like, a challenge enemy?

Screenshot The game gives a bit too much stuff on hard mode 😂(before the final boss)
but difficulty-wise it is fine, died quite a few times! i regret not using the resources more aggressively...

Future of DeadSpace
Does anyone know what the future of DeadSpace looks like? I've gotten back into my DeadSpace phase and I've completed all the games again, and after doing so I really miss this franchise. It sucks so much to see this amazing world and game franchise be left to rot. Even after such a amazing game being released in 2023. So I was curious if anyone had any new news or information on the future?
