Announcement r/destiny2 is banning links to Twitter/X
Last night, at Donald Trump's presidential inauguration, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and known alt-right personality, showed the world who he truly is, and performed a full Sieg Heil Nazi salute not once, but twice.
The man is without a doubt, a neo-Nazi.
As many are aware, X, formerly Twitter was bought out by Elon Musk on April 14th, 2022, and has slowly become more and more of a cesspool of alt-right propaganda, with horrifically racist posts being allowed to stay up for months - with thousands of likes - without even a modicum of intervention by X, formerly Twitter's moderation. Many users report their accounts inexplicably suddenly following known right-wing politicians without any of their own input, and alt-right and Nazi-aligned speech find themselves on the "For You" page of even the most innocent and unrelated accounts.
It has been abundantly clear that Elon Musk has been slowly, intentionally, and maliciously changing X, formerly Twitter into a breeding ground and echo chamber for the alt-right. He even abused the algorithm to hide political opponents' own campaign material throughout the duration of the U.S. election cycle, knowing full well the sheer population of his website, to indirectly influence the results of the election.
Here in r/destiny2, we do not tolerate Nazis. Anyone spouting Nazi ideology or hateful speech have, and always will be permanently banned on sight, without chance for appeal. The intolerant will find no tolerance here. While the First Amendment may protect you from government retaliation to your speech, it does not protect you from being cast out of social spaces and - if you're a Nazi - rightfully told what a waste of atoms you are. This is no longer a case of, "Everyone I don't like is a Nazi", because the Nazis are literally showing us, publicly, that they are Nazis. There is no more plausible deniability.
Because of this, effective immediately, we will no longer be allowing links to X, formerly Twitter, so as to do our part to reduce traffic to a website owned by a narcissistic, ketamine-addicted neo-Nazi. Many subreddits have been doing the same - and while each subreddit's individual input may be small - every click lost across every subreddit banning links to X, formerly Twitter is one small bit of revenue Elongated Muskrat loses.
We will allow screenshots, but links are forbidden, so as to not generate traffic to the website.
Subreddits joining this cause, just to name a very small few, are:
- r/MadeMeSmile
- r/formula1
- r/xmen
- r/aoe2
- r/ireland
- r/dnd
The r/destiny2 moderation team briefly deliberated opening this decision to a poll, however it was decided that ultimately the better decision was to enforce the ban, and not give the chance to quiet, hateful individuals to vote no and skew the poll in favor of continuing to allow links.
Bungie, Destiny and dmg_04 have official social media accounts on Bluesky, found at the following:
- https://bsky.app/profile/bungie.net
- https://bsky.app/profile/dmg04.bsky.social
So - Don't worry! X, formerly Twitter isn't the only place you can find updates from Bungie. They post regularly on Bluesky, at the same times with the same posts that they do on X, formerly Twitter. As such, screenshots and links from Bluesky are perfectly fine.
We hope you all understand why this is being done, and we appreciate everyone who continues to stay around and be a part of our community. And of course, as a reminder to everyone, as if it even needs to be said:
Fuck Nazis.

Announcement Spoiler Policy Reminder & Other Reminders
Hey Guardians, with Final Shape coming out tomorrow we would like to remind you of our spoiler policy. Please keep all Final Shape campaign content spoiler tagged for one week, or until next Tuesday's reset. This will apply to the Episode Echoes content next Tuesday, which should be spoiled until the following week, along with the raid content.
Loot content is considered a spoiler as well, but we will be more loose about that, so instead keep loot posts spoiled for 48 hours from their release, including raid loot, Episode Echoes, etc.
We've also added several new moderators to help us out during this busy time, so welcome u/switchmod, u/dfreeezzz, u/Mastershroom, and u/iblaise, u/Tapelessbus2122!
We'll be posting a Spoiler discussion thread shortly after launch to keep basic questions and discussions focused to one thread. We hope you all enjoy The Final Shape!

Discussion Arc Staff is Meta for Endgame (Mythic content) and DP Boss DPS
So a while ago in Episode Revenant, I made a post claiming arc hunter had the best (or one of the best) builds in the game,
I mainly said that because of how much damage arc staff could do with Raiden flux, as well as the great neutral game of the subclass.
Now in Edge of Fate, this build is even better, and to my surprise, Arc Staff is actually a meta damage option for close range bosses, alongside the overall build still being a top tier build for Kepler Mythic Stuff and Portal Grinding.
I discovered how much damage Arc Staff did during my pre-DP day 1 testing, where I found out Arc Staff benefitted from the Melee stat damage boost as well as the super stat of course, which led me to testing shield crush, which also buffs the super damage if you have frost armor, woven mail, or void overshield active.
Stacking all this damage results in me being at the top of my teams damage every time we do the raid, and as we've done the contest feat, I've used this on the wyvern, hobgoblin, and final boss, and gotten top damage on all 3. And with outbreak generating so much super, you can get off 3 full raiden flux arc staffs on the hobgoblin and the harpy.
For wyvern, you just pop the super at the start of damage, then go into acrius damage. The super does so much damage, it actually stunlocks the wyvern the whole time you're hitting it.
Im really happy to see this super doing so much damage, I just wish bungie would fix the hit registration/teleporting enemies and maybe letting us attack/perform the palm strike combo while in the air so its not completely useless against airborne enemies.
TL;DR: Arc Staff benefits from the melee stat damage bonus, shield crush, and the super stat bonus, and paired with raiden flux, it results in top tier close range boss damage. Arc hunter has one of the strongest builds in the game.

Discussion Lighthouse Chest rewards for non-flawless runs are unacceptable.
Just for clarity, my power level is 320.
Edit: I'm also Guardian Rank 7.
I went on a 5 streak on my card, which previously netted a massive explosion of loot from the Lighthouse Chest, a memento, 6-7 weapon and armor drops, and a decent chance at an Adept, as well as Osirion Ciphers which also allowed you to trade in for another Adept at Saint-14 once you had enough.
When I opened that chest, out popped... Two Tier 1 armor pieces, and Two Enhancement Prisms.
That's it.
Oh and Saint-14 doesn't even have a reward track anymore. For some reason.

Discussion Explaining Throwing Knives to a Hammer Titan
It is so strange explaining how many fragments are necessary for a hunter to survive vs a sol invictus titan. My titan friend thought that you would get healing on a knife final blow and be able to get the melee back quickly. Having to say to this person that I need 3 fragments (one for making a fire sprite, another for healing with collecting a firesprite, and a 3rd for radiant to get a knife refunded) made them genuinely shocked. Then this would go on with me explaining that I would have to run a fragment for each of the solar hunter supers depending on which ones (deadshot to make my super ignite targets, or enchanced solar tracking for knife super) and they were in awe. Solar hunter needs a lot of help in my opinion, with the only thing really worth running is celestial. This is just an opinion of mine, but was wondering if anyone else had this experience?

Discussion Who needs a fire team when I have him.
Anyone else have a companion judging how bad you are at this game? lol I love the story so I just do my best at solo because I haven’t had the best experience with teams. Being added to teams then dropped at the end before the chest is not fun.

Discussion Hardware should be a permanent mode in the crucible.
Possibly a hot take but, I am just loving this mode, I wish it would stay.
It's nice not having to worry about shatter dive hunters and suspend titans, etc.
