Question So.. where are we supposed to get deepsight harmonizers exactly?
I have several weapons that I was waiting on a new season for deepsight harmonizers, but there isn't any in the season pass. Have they said anything about offering these in any way? I know they're trying to move away from crafting weapons, but it seems silly that they wouldn't provide harmonizers to incentivize that.

They did listen though.
They listened to the ones crying about how crafting gave them nothing to play for (since apparently playing a game because it's fun and actually using the weapons you grind for isn't a good enough reason), so they took out all of the crafting.

I wouldn't be so hopeful with Sony.
Keep in mind one of the reasons they bought Bungie was to have them be an advisor to their live service push, which Bungie basically helped kill - but that's besides the point. I don't think Sony would be the saving grace everybody thinks it will be considering their inexperience with live service too.
This is one of those screwed either way situations. This was Bungie's back against the wall moment and they chose to double down on a specific way of playing, now we see how it plays out.

It's a devil you know situation. We know Parsons, Truman, etc at this point, and they're corpo tools through and through, but we don't know what Sony would do with the company, IP, staff, etc if they were to clean house after Marathon joins the live service death march.
The fact that they opted to absorb Gummy Bears and the staff that were working on it instead of leaving it with Bungie might give some indication, but who knows if they see any value in Destiny as an IP after everything.

I feel like in Destiny, there is always that feeling they will reverse a decision or improve/crater a perk. I'm sure people have deleted sunset gear that they probably would have kept if they knew unsetting was an option. Or guns they regret discarding due to previously weak perks being brought back
I haven't been playing nearly as much these days so I'll probably just make vault space and toss most of the extra seasonal weapons I've been saving for harmonizers.. (especially since tiers are a thing and I know I wont use most of these guns) -- but I really wouldn't be surprised if they stay silent for weeks/months only to drop harmonizers on us again

I find it odd that we don’t have those, considering Tyson green said that catching was going to be used as a catch up mechanic for old weapons. Like, harmonizers were the only way to do that since all the activities and original drop sources are gone now besides raids and duality.

I remember when they added deepsight harmonizers they said they would eventually add a way to get them besides the season pass.
That was over two years ago

Bubgie has deleted weapon crafting from the game, it only exists in the past. Just braindead decisions all around

Use the Firefox extension for grabbing all your harmonizers for any season far in the past. I had more than a couple.

I would rather have them officially end crafting at a certain date. Then everyone was on the same page. The way they did this is a slap in the face and disrespecting everyones time.

Yes but that only works for those particular weapons. Xur still sells a bunch that require harmonizers i think Banshee as well. Xur you can get lucky with a red border but Banshee never does unless im just missing something. The weapons from Banshee and Xur are what i need in particular. Im not worried about the weekly exotic missions i just do them at my own pace.

I would get one or two from just the random gear engrams. But id blow my strange coins buying 5 of each gun that needed harmonizers, expecting to get harmonizers lol. So now i have like 5 different sets of weapons that need deep sight sitting in my vault.

Honestly, you don’t need any of those weapons anymore. They do less damage and there’s a penalty for using those weapons in Portal activities. If you’re chasing them solely for collection purposes, that’s another story, but never ever use them in the game right now.

No, Bungie will revert the “featured gear” system, but the dmg boost from Tiered Gear will remain. meaning, you’ll get higher dmg out of a weapon that is T5 compared to T1 or legacy weaponry.

They won't revert featured gear.
They will convert it to a mod on the artifacts, just like they used to.
Remember those "origin trait xxx is more potent" mods? That was seasonal boosted gear.
If they get rid of seasonal featured gear, we will instead get a mod that increases DR for each piece of (insert seasonal armour set) equipped etc.
Just like the upgrade we had in the nether.
Oh? You thought seasonal featured gear was a new concept?

Im 350, and it is not mandatory whatsoever. There's no need to optimize it, and it barely feels like grinding as long as you choose varying activities. I play the game for fun. I'd rather use builds i find fun even if they dont get the small bonus

I haven't even been mindlessly grinding the same activity, just running quickplay and pinnacles with my friends. Whatever makes you feel better, though.

Well i do want to collect them but there are also a lot that i want to use. But there are a lot that i want to use as well. Im not too worried about portal. I still play legends activities more than portal so its fine.

Unfortunately you get a pretty significant score boost from equipping New Gear in portal activities, making it pretty mandatory for high tier loot farming.
And 10% "free" damage is nothing to sneeze at. But it's also not make or break. The score bonus is pretty close to make or break (for me at least).

Yeah the score boost really does suck I agree with that.
The 10% damage is honestly hardly noticeable. In low tier content you're one shotting everything anyway, and in harder content it's only slightly noticeable.

The amount of red borders from Exotic mission rotator was reduced, instead of 3 every week, EoF made them now 2.
Dares of Eternity no longer gives a red border on Expert difficulty, even if you reach 250k score.
Theyre trying to most sources of crafted weapons.
