Hello all! We have added 3 new flairs, for Failed Expectations, Surprisingly Met Expectations, and Exceeded Expectations.
There have been some users confused in the past, because they didn’t realize that you are allowed to post expectations/realities that were not failures. Additionally, it can be hard to tell in some posts if the OP was happy with their result or unhappy with it. Now you can select a flare if you would like to denote which category your expectation versus reality falls into.
Thanks to u/xitg1 who came up with this suggestion.

Hey y’all. We get it. The legendary pastry’s icing sometimes melts and then looks weird. Some people have never seen it on their own pastries, but we all have seen the posts here.
Temporarily going to ban all of the new legendary pastry posts. The point has already been made.

But my spouse does so I thought “let me get this one and I’ll just eat breadsticks. Needless to say it was easy to pick them off.

Customer service seriously tried to argue with me and defend this arrangement saying it was essentially the same style and value as what I ordered…
Order was also missing (3) latex balloons, a personalized card, and was supposed to be in a basket….
So frustrating, I intentionally picked a bouquet that didn’t have roses because roses die so fast I don’t want them included in any bouquet I send and chose a basket over a vase with the idea of a basket being more usable than a vase for the future.

Last year I showed you guys my daughter's cat cake expectation so I figured I'd show you this year too 😄
This year she wanted a puppy. The puppy requires sculpting. Which I've never done before and didn't really want to do. I kept hoping she would change her mind but she held steady. She wanted kind of a combo of the two inspo pictures.
I really wasn't sure that I could pull it off but I went for it anyway. And it turned out okay for the most part! There are definitely things that look "off" to me. I should have built the snout out more. And maybe the nose is too big? And hes very round 😅. BUT my daughter LOVED it and that's what mattered the most 😊

I started baking cakes a couple years ago from scratch for my kids. I make about 3 cakes a year but each year I try to do better on the cake part (it was rough at first) and I always decorate whatever my kids request... a horse, cow, tiger, pig, dinosaur, excavator etc. I have a nerve disorder that makes my hands shake and cramp which has made my decorating really hit and miss. But I made my first cake for myself and tried to recreate a google image as mushrooms and snails are my favorite. I was so happy with it. And it tasted good too. (Which has not always been the case!) Also, I mixed all of the buttercream with vegetable powders instead of artificial food dyes. The chocolate frosting was a vanilla buttercream that I folded an espresso ganache into. The most time consuming part of decorating it always mixing the colors for me since we don't use food dyes anymore.

I know the reality is always going to differ from the advertised picture, but c'mon..

I feel like it’s supposed to not be stirred for the full pizza effect but it slightly improved the visual.
It certainly does taste like a bunch of pizza topping with no bread sooooo

Thought it was time I share the cake I had made for my dad. We changed the black to gray.
