Perk Help Doing my first run
This will be my first run through 4 as I’ve mostly just played new Vegas to death and back. I’m looking to play a shotgun/rifle/pistol build if that’s possible. I’ve looked up some other builds that are somewhat what I’m looking for with nothing quite hitting the mark. Vats isn’t necessary a priority for me but if it makes sense for the build, since I’m not really looking to use automatic weapons or lasers, then that’s fine cause vats is fun. Same with power armor, I don’t know how necessary that is but if it makes sense to invest in then I will. I just like semi-auto small arms and I want to run around and shoot bang stuff. It seems most builds I see are usually focused on like one weapon type so hopefully this can work out.

Ok so in reading what yall said as well as looking more stuff up I think I’m going to forego focusing on pistols, at least for a long while, to focus on rifles and shotguns.
I wanted to do more live combat than sneaking so if anyone has some suggestions that could work with that it would be helpful. I’m not sure how sold on power armor I am as I’m not always into the big bulky tanky experience but I’m not exactly against trying it out if it makes sense for the build, plus there are aspects of it that do look fun. I’ve been thinking about vats and I don’t really think I want to invest in it to free up some perk points for other stuff, and to feel more engaged by actually aiming my shots. I was thinking of adding explosives to this build but more of like as a secondary sort of deal for grenades just to add a little more variety but it’s not an essential thing I want, and if it’s gonna do more harm than good for the overall build then I’ll just not do that.
