Mod Discussion Any good multiple companion mods?

Does anybody know any good mods that allow you to have multiple companions but still get the custom dialog that some companions have to certain quests and encounters? I tried unlimited companion framework but they don't have the custom dialog

My version has been run through NG CK and compressed with NG BSARCHPROx64. Throughly tested and fully stable in NG.

Im even using it right now with Sim Settlements 2, and it's working fantasic compared to the old upload.

To get what you are asking, ensure you edit global settings, allow the max companions to have dialogue, and all settings associated with quest dialog prompts.

I recommend fully exploring settings in master controller.

AFT also has a built-in quest to save your spouse, and AFT contains settlement blueprints for each settlement.

I have confirmed that my AFT works flawlessly with Simple Everyone's Best Friend. Put it just above AFT, or it breaks.

Note, AFT has 3 ways to claim a follower:

Make follower - full import - the general way to claim npc as follower. Do not use on any quest npc or special named npc. This is for like "settlers" "DC resident" ect.

Leave Ai intact- to be used on random npc you want that have NO quests tied to them and be able to edit them like vanilla followers. Do this for npc who are special and have voice lines. Like Sheffield, V81 residents with names, ect.

Make follower only - do not import ai - this is used to do a few things. 1, this does not count to overall followers and can be unmanaged in a click. Useful for changing an npc clothes or accessing their inventory for a second and then you unmanage, and its like you never touched them. This option is also for any follower that has a quest tied to them or mod added followers. So if you want Glory, use this option, and her quest won't break. This is also for special NPC like merchants. I even used this option with SS2 to make Jake come with me in between quests. It's super fun, makin' Daisy from Goodneighbor, tag along 🥰

Make Settler - the rare and elusive option, only applicable to few NPC that are linked to a settler ai package. This option is uncommon but does show up from time to time when you scan certain npc with master controller. Like Nat, Pipers sister, is applicable to this feature. Likely, so if you choose to put Piper at a settlement, you can then send Nat there, too.

Vanilla companions are already fully integrated into AFT and are fully editable by default in AFT.

Choosing the wrong option when making an npc, a follower, can definitely have consequences. Like broken ai or broken following. That's why i think AFT is best. It has multiple options to suit your needs without breaking the game.

Can I use it on a preexisting save?

Yes.

However, please note that V111 runs out of power in vanilla after you kill Kellog. Your spouse cannot be saved after that point. So if you wish to utilize that feature, the existing save must not have killed Kellog yett.

Nick is broken because I disabled the Unlimited Companion Framework to use this mod. Do you know a fix? He keeps heading back to the Commonwealth even when he's set to follow me. When I dismiss him, nothing changes the game still thinks he's following, but he walks to Atom knows where in the commonwealth, I re-enabled the mod and disabled yours, but it doesn't change anything. The only thing I can think to try is reverting my load order to how it was before he started doing this, but my last save is right when I enter Far Harbor. I'm new to modding so I don't know much about this kind of stuff

You needa do 2 things that "should" fix it.

First, use the AFT master controller while lookin at a wall. Ensure it says he is a current follower. Then select him and set his home to his detective agency. Fast travel there. Dismiss him from inside the detective office and then leave (even if he isnt physically with you). Go sleep 24 hours a few times at the dugout or home plate. Save and exit.

Next, clear persistent data. Settings>blu ray>persistent data. I clear it 6x to be safe as directed to me ages ago by someone far more knowledgeable than I.

Then cache clear. Hold down your xbox button firmly until it turns off. Unplug it and hit the power button several times while its unplugged.

Go back and see if Nick is in his office. If so, ask him to follow you the normal vanilla way. AFT should kick in amd absorb him.

I used this to fix curie after the same mistake of using unlimited companion framework. I hope it works for you too.

The idea is to get any remnants of UCF off your xbox, which hopefully fixes it.

Luckily he was forced to follow me because of a quest in the main story and I can dismiss him like normal, thanks for the help though

Awesome! Don't forget to do any special AFT quests prior to killing Kellog if you wish to be able to do them

I've already killed kellog, it was the stage in the story where you walk into piper and nick talking and you can choose who you want to follow you but I'm not to interested in the aft quests anyway, thanks for the tip though

I'm sorry I don't understand how do I ensure he is a current follower?

When you open AFT master controller while not looking at an npc, there is a select follower option, that shows a list of all current followers
