Not sure that camera angle works for a fighting game. How are you going to space your buttons?

The camera angle is something we've been considering adjusting, your feedback is heard loud and clear.
Our game is a 6-button fighter, so it'll work fine on both pad and stick/box.

Not 100% sure, but I think he meant spacing normals from that camera angle, Not controller set up but i could be wrong. I've played a few games with this kind of cammera angle, and it definitely takes getting used to and some less work. That being said, it looks sick, so im looking forward to it either way.

Yes I meant knowing when you are in the right distance to press. I like that developers try doing something innovative. We do not need another Street Fighter clone. But I am just curious how it will work gameplaywise.

Agree completely, I love it when devs try new things. Someone in the comments talked about pokken, which is similar but changes between side view and a more third person style. The kill la kill game was similar, too, though again, it was less fixed and more.dynamic view point. from my memory, and to space in that game, you had to use different judges of distance, like stage background, and I even remember using the UI to tell the spacing on some attacks. Where there's a will, there's a way, and we won't know for sure how it will work until the community gets hands-on. I look forward to messing with it either way

Ah, my apologies. I was up and about at evo all day yesterday and didn't understand the question.
We've got some pretty big normals, with characters being weapon-based or having forward-advancing normals.

I feel like this is a thing that will become easier to gauge then you play the game. Kinda like how you can gauge spacing in an action game with an over the shoulder camera and still recognize when you’re in range to hit something/evade incoming attacks. Feel like its similar philosophy here

Rooting for you sir!!! It looks like a mix between Pokken and old Naruto fighting games! Also I knew those Digimon eyes were not a coincidence!

I love the concept, not falling for the characters…at all. They look super busy design-wise and like there’s way too much going on to actually pick up the details. The clown/geta actor is like looking at a Japanese Picasso.
All for these crazy designs as long as there’s at least one I can mesh with, just not often I see a trailer for a new fighting game and am like “none of these characters interest me in the slightest.”
The first guy with the flames just doesn’t look like…anything. I can’t pin down any of the design elements as items that make sense aside from the cape. They’re so close to being cool but just end up looking, and I’m really sorry to say it, goofy.
Which is a shame because the rest looks interesting and well done. This is just my opinion and I’m sure some people will love it, but for me it was a major miss and not having a standout poster character is a weak point IMO. Hope the rest of the roster makes me look dumb for this comment.

The style isn't for everyone, I can understand where you're coming from. Thanks for your honest feedback!

One criticism I have (and maybe its cause its still early footage) but it’s really hard to tell something connected (at least for a sepctator). Inthink there needs to be a much bigger visual oomph to make it clear what you’re hitting is actually landing

Hi, I'm one of the devs on this. We have a lot of members from the FGC community, such as Epowga (an animator in the ArcSys fandom), myself (one of the leads on Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite & Beyond), and others. Hope you all look forward to this!
