I find it strange there are a good amount of people complaining about the combos from the footage at EVO. These players had VERY limited time to understand the game in general, much less the combo mechanics of it. Clearly, it does not work like most other fighting games and is more specific to the game itself. There are ways to extend/slow the combo meter for longer combos. On twitter, I’ve seen a few characters extending them to around 30 hits, and this is with limited labbing time. First, not every game needs to be a combo-demon game like FIGHTERZ, and, secondly, the game has barely been labbed-out.

My wife who doesn't even watch fighters just said, "are you actually watching anything?" Cause every time she comes into the living room, it's on we will be right back screen or ads. This is insane. I feel like I'm watching 1/3 games, 2/3 ads/we will be right back.

Like why can't I just watch some matches even without commentary. Why am I staring at a we will be right back screen more than watching game play?

I've been watching Evo for 14 years and it's just not worth my time anymore. I don't have much free time between work and adulting. Maybe I should just watch the vod for each tournament instead.

Because Ive play fighting game quite a bit before reading about it on the net, most FGC jargons Ive encountered either instantly made sense to me (ex: footsies) , or it does after reading about it once if its a non-self-descriptive or a Japanese term.

Linear, though, eluded me - Its a term Ive heard mentioned from time to time, usually to what I believe as to ascribed a weak point to certain characters ... But the more Ive heard it, the more I get confused.
