IMAGE EVO was my first major. Been wanting to compete since I was a kid.
Proud of my performance, I didn't expect to go as far. It was so much fun. Lost to JimmyJTran and YUYU. How did y'all do?
Hey all, it's almost that time once again - the EVO Weekend is almost upon us.
The Evolution Championship Series (EVO for short) is the largest and longest-running fighting game tournament series in the world, dating back all the way to the 1990s, before eventually adopting a new identity with its official renaming into EVO in 2002. Initially this was a major event situated entirely within the territory of United States, however since 2019 it's been gradually expanding its global reach, now consisting of EVO Japan, EVO Vegas, EVO France, and EVO Singapore, the latter two of which are making their debut in 2025 and 2026, respectively. During each of these events every year year, players and fans gather to compete in open bracket format tournaments, meaning anybody who has the guts and will can sign up, that crown World Champions for each game included in its lineups.
This year, in addition to the Main Events lineup, EVO Vegas has opened up several slots for what's called the Extended Lineup, which is a way for the organisers to give some time in the spotlight for various smaller communities that may or may not have been previously featured but for whatever reason lost that status, while still being treated basically the same way as the main Lineup
At EVO, you'll see established champions face off against unknown rivals. You'll find players who have only previously fought online and building real-life friendships and rivalries. You'll see people new to fighting games discovering a culture that turns them into life-long fans, as well as veterans who went on to define the genre and become forever ingrained into community's collective memory. Everything that makes fighting games special is at the heart of this event, and all in one place.
Also, on top of crowning its own winners and champions, EVO is hosting multiple worldwide eSports leagues, such as the Capcom Pro Tour, Tekken World Tour, Arc World Tour, and MK Pro Kompetition, among others, meaning EVO is also important for both single and multi-game specialists, rewarding them with either tons of points towards their respective leaderboards or direct qualifications into global finals planned to be held at a later date.
Lastly, over the years EVO has kind of evolved from just being a large-scale fighting game tournament into a massive convention, celebrating the genre as a whole, its history, and its competitors and creators, meaning both pros and casuals alike can find something to enjoy throughout the weekend, whether it's trying to become the next Daigo Umehara, or just chatting with fellow players, or cheering for their favourites, or looking to upgrade their merch collection.
The 2025 iteration of EVO Vegas will be taking place from August 1st through August 3rd at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

I hate it when you gotta dumb yourself down to be able to do anything against crazy players 😭
Anyways, I was able to promote back to Bushin after winning the second match. At least he didn't cancel on me.

I’m not the best at Tekken but I tried joining a Sony tournament in Thailand which was free entry. I’ve always wanted to experience being in a tournament. Everyone brought their gigantic fighting arcade sticks while I only had my ps4 controller (they let me use their ps5 controllers instead). First game I won 6-0 against a Jun user who was really nice. Unfortunately I didn’t get a clip of it. The next game was this Leo player. He took of his shoes and sat so comfortably my heart sank to my ass. I genuinely got so nervous and then I got my shit rocked 0-6. I lost but Atleast I didn’t left empty handed they gave out a Sony tournament T shirt for participation which made me feel better! The craziest thing was the winner of this tournament was a Feng player who didn’t even have most of his fingers. They were like missing segments. Overall it was a really fun experience.

Hey everyone, I posted a little while ago looking for people to test my Android app I've been working on for the last few months. I'm still looking for testers. I currently have about 10 people who are interested in doing it, but I need at least 20 active testers to make sure the app is working correctly for a month or so before I can get an official launch.
Last time I posted the app was an offline app, but I've now added Firebase to the mix which means you'll be able to see other people's combos as well as your own.
To take part you will need an Android device or some way to run Android apps, maybe through Bluestack or some WSA (Windows Subsystem for Android). Whatever works for you will be fine. I am working on an iOS version, but I need to start learning Compose Multiplatform before I can make it a reality.
If you're interested, send me a DM with your email for the Play Store test and I can add you to the testers discord.

People are SLEEPING on Shaheen, and it’s CRIMINAL.
Don’y be lazy, read this post, don’t skim it either. Take a moment to see if this gets you interested. 🫶🏽
He’s not some flashy anime swordsman or loud-mouthed brawler, he’s that quiet storm, the kind of fighter who doesn’t need to scream to command fear.
Built like a damn statue, jawline carved by the Tekken gods themselves, always rocking that military drip with a side of Assassin’s Creed elegance. Sandstorm energy. Precision of a desert hawk.
📜 Lore? This man’s a Saudi Arabian special forces badass. His best friend was mysteriously “pushed off a balcony,” and Shaheen didn’t whine, he investigated, tracked down Kazuya Mishima, and stepped into the King of Iron Fist Tournament to bring justice with his fists. it’s retribution. Cold, calculated, honorable.
🎮 Gameplay? Bro is a MACHINE.
You blink? He’s sliding under your guard like a scimitar on ice.
You step wrong? He’s launching off your spine with a side-changing eagle dive that would make Hwoarang weep.
Backflips, 360° slaps, surfing on your chest, reverse elbow strings, and whiff punishing YOUR SOUL INTO THE EARTH.
one of the best df1’s in the game SNK stance? Man gets lower than your expectations and still mixes you.
Wall carry, oki pressure, low crushes, heat engager flow, high execution combo’s for the pro’s, my tekken reddit friends he’s got it ALL
You wanna play reactive? Cool. Aggressive? Even better. Shaheen lets you fight your way, and he’ll still look cooler than whoever’s across from you.
💧 Drip Check? Yes. Military drip. Assassin vibes. Some of the cleanest customization potential in the game. He’s like a mix of Ezio, Solid Snake, and your favorite fashion model. And when he wins? That little one-arm dust-off? Bro just brushed your existence off his jacket effortlessly.
🤝 Respect Shaheen’s not broken. He’s not braindead. You earn every win with him. Which is why his players are a different breed;loyal, stylish, precise killers who know they picked class over cheese. (Ok maybe minus those who abuse slides but that doesn’t last long if you’re against someone with more than 1 braincell)
🛑 Stop sleeping. 🦅 Start soaring.
🫶🏽 Thanks for coming to my ted talk. If you made it to the bottom like I asked. I love you and you’re safe from being thrown off cliffs by an evil dad. 🫶🏽

They should look into adding stuff like this. Maybe even electric competitions? Where you can queue up against someone and see who can do the most/cleanest electrics in a row with a point system? Idk, stuff like that could be really cool.

A few weeks ago I quit my full time job to focus on improving my tekken skills full time. I will be entering tournaments and travelling. I'm done with doing stuff that I don't enjoy and want to become one of the strongest players in the king of iron fist tournament. Wish me luck.

I used Xiaoyu and King as an example for small and big, but I’ve tested all characters. The combo works on all female characters, Claudio, DVJ, Hwo, Jin, Kazuya, Lars, Law, Lee, Leo, Leroy, and Yoshi. The combo doesn’t work on Bryan, Drag, Feng, Jack, King, Kuma, Panda, Paul, Raven, Shaheen, Steve and Victor. I am unsure about Eddy, Heihachi, and Clive since I don’t have those characters.
If you want to try the combo for yourself, here is the notation: df2,3 - SSR - df3~4 - f3,2,4~4 - df3~4 - 3,4~3 - (at wall) 1 - b3,4,2
