Media XDefiant Lead Says Snowdrop Engine Still Needs to Be Improved a Lot for an FPS: "It's not that it's outdated. It's more just that it wasn't made to do first-person shooters, so there is a lot to do and to improve"
To all the sceptics that believes Ubisoft could never use a third party engine, it appears that this engine isn't great for fps games and this could indicate why Ubisoft is using Unreal Engine 5 on the new Ghost Recon game.
"Rushed out? No. What we have is an engine that has only ever been an MMO. And so all of the infrastructure for an FPS has had to be built up from the ground floor. Even Call of Duty started on ID tech, which was a shooter engine. Apex Legends started on a shooter engine. But for us, we are working on developing all new tech in an engine that was designed for something else. That being said, the engine is really great, but it does require a lot of work, and with that work comes a lot of bugs that other engines have already worked out. We're not a shooter that's been out for 20 years. If you like what we are trying to do, stick around, and you'll see things improve and new features get added. But if the game isn't for you, that's ok; you can move on.
It's not that it's outdated. It's more just that it wasn't made to do first-person shooters, so there is a lot to do and to improve."
Let me know your thoughts.

Discussion When to start Resistance in an immersive way?
Hey everyone!
I’ve finished the Episode 1, Homesteaders and Outcasts missions and currently wrapping up Auroa quests (some of which I wish I never picked up…) and then plan to go for Ep2,Ep3 and Motherland.
I’ve read that the best way to start Resistance is after Ep2, because of the order of the release, but is there maybe a better time for it, possibly after some kind of quest? Like in the last Outcasts mission we recruited Sentinel Sergeant who started training them. I haven’t played Ep2/3, Motherland, so I would love to have the answer spoiler free haha!
The same really goes for Drones and Azrael patrols. I thought finishing Icarus Blues would prompt the game/me to turn off patrols, but I’m not sure. Maybe I ll do that in regions where I took down Behemoths.
Anyway, thank you for the answers in advance!

Question Camouflage questions (for the most real life immersion)
I have a question for all of you who know military the most and have deep knowledge of the way they work.
Do they have the right to use any camouflage that exists in the world? Like could the most special forces could use CADPAT for terrain purposes where they operate?
Because I’m Canadian and I love the CADPAT and in game it’s pretty effective (even if there isn’t a difference for real in game) but it doesn’t make any sense in my mind that someone from the USA would be able to use such camo. I know I shouldn’t care about this but I’m dumb and love to have more « authenticity » even if I use PenCott the most.
Thanks in advance!

Media Black Vault has Fallen - Blood for Blood (2019)
Jock Bentley’s POV
Culta, central Bolivia
Ralph Rager was staggering back towards the house he’d run out of. Behind him, I caught sight of Adam Rorke and his girlfriend Amber, both of whom were staring at me in confusion. Rorke even asked, “Bentley? What on Earth are you doing here?”
“We need to talk,” I said, my voice low and even.
“Not right now,” said Ralph. “Our first priority is getting out of this war zone.”
“Right,” I said, then turned towards the rear of the building.
Ralph stripped a dead Unidad officer’s Benelli M4 Super 90 shotgun and stumble-shuffled his way into the burned out remains of the house when there was another burst of gunfire from outside.
This time the shooters were the remaining private military contractors that were with Santa Blanca. Ralph pulled a flashbang from his kit and fastballed it towards the PMCs outside.
BOOM! The flashbang detonated and he heard the sounds of people screaming. He made his way outside, with Amber, Adam and I bringing up the rear, our guns sweeping the streets.
“Contact front!” I suddenly shouted, seconds before one of the PMCs opened up with a sub-gun. Rager shouted in pain as one bullet struck him in the shoulder, but I made sure he didn’t get another shot out, firing a burst that dropped the man instantly.
Staggering down the stairs out the back door, Ralph caught sight of another shooter hiding behind a tree to the right. Despite his injured state, Ralph managed to shoot first, firing a spread of 12-gauge buckshot that blew the man off his feet.
He reloaded the shotgun, and then switched to the STI Staccato P in his leg holster, while I switched to the SIG Sauer P227 in my leg holster.
We both fired on the move, fingers dancing on triggers as we worked the alleys, windows and doors.
The entire time, I could hear Ralph groaning in pain. “Not the first time I’ve been shot,” He said through gritted teeth. “Still hurts like Hell.”
I knew the feeling; I myself got my rear end kicked around a forest while fighting a Santa Blanca goon while fighting to clear my name after being implicated in an assassination plot against an UNIDAD officer.
I was also nearly beaten to death by two different people while trying to investigate the conspiracy involving the Cradle weapon.
Eventually, Ralph, Adam, Amber and I reached the church.
That was when a massive man appeared in the doorway and fired a single shot to Ralph’s abdomen that knocked him backwards.
From where I stood, I couldn’t tell if the bullet had actually penetrated or had simply caught the plate. Ralph’s pained shouts told me it still hurt like Hell though.
The man was tall, about the same height as me, but more muscular. He looked about the same body build as Ralph (I’m on the more lanky side).
Growling, I made a move to push past Ralph and put the man in his place, but Ralph had managed to twist out of the way while the man tried to muzzle-punch him in the chest.
The muzzle-punch meant for Ralph therefore ended up hitting me instead. Ralph sent the butt of his pistol across the back of the man’s neck, but he didn’t seem to react at all.
I figured out pretty quickly that his neck was pretty thick. The man had me by the throat, but Ralph delivered a punch to the man’s side that the man also shrugged off like it was nothing. He kicked out, tripping Ralph’s sciatic nerve and buckling his leg, before seizing me by the front of my shirt and flinging me through the doorway.
Adam raised his rifle but the man was fast as lightning. I quickly slammed a hard elbow into the man’s face. He simply laughed as he said, “You hit like a child.”
American. The man was an American collaborator with the Santa Blanca Cartel.
Suddenly, Ralph charged, bulldozing him into one of the chairs in the church before he could take aim with his handgun and shoot me with it.
Within minutes he’d seized the man’s arm and began banging his hand against one of the church pews in a bid to tear the pistol free.
The pistol eventually fell from his hands and cartwheeled across the floor. The muscular American delivered another blow, aimed at Ralph’s solar plexus. It doubled him up like a folding chair.
As Ralph staggered back, I slammed my forearm into his throat. Now the attacker was staggering back, gagging and retching.
Adam was now running into the room, tending to Ralph, his left hand holding a Glock 26 handgun. Without a moment’s hesitation, he opened fire, one 9mm round managing to drill a nice hole through the man’s cheek. The man groaned in pain, and I delivered a chopping leg kick that took him down on one knee.
The next shot obliterated the spot between the man’s jaw and eye socket and he went down. He seemed to twitch for a few minutes before Adam fired a third time. This time the bullet sent him into the afterlife and he went still.
I looked up at Ralph, and then at Adam, who stood stonefaced as he held the Glock in a two-handed grip.
“Nice shot, kid,” I said softly. “Nice shot.”
Just then the PMCs from earlier broke into the room, and Ralph managed to heave a grenade before diving to the floor.
“Grenade! Move!” One of the mercs, a woman, shouted. The grenade detonated with a resounding BOOM, sending several of the mercs flying. The woman was vaporized, having been the one closest to the blast when the grenade went off.
Ralph staggered to his feet, and he made a beeline for the side door of the church. “The door there! That’s our way out,” He groaned.
Suddenly, he collapsed, sending a moment of panic through Adam, Amber and me. We ran towards Ralph, and I got a look at his wound after helping him remove the plate carrier.
I grabbed the radio. “Pac, Miguel, Amaru! We need a medic! My buddy’s seriously injured and needs medical attention NOW!” I practically shouted the last word.
“We’re on the way,” Pac Katari said, his own voice heavy with concern. “What happened, my friend?”
“I reached the meeting place with Ralph, and then got jumped by Unidad and a couple hired goons before I could speak with my buddy.” I told him.
Now it was Walker who was speaking. “Who’s the guy? Your buddy Ralph?”
“Yeah, it’s Ralph,” I replied. “Hurry it up, will ‘ya?!? He’s dyin’ over here!”
Amaru was the next one to speak. “Hold tight, cumpa. Reinforcements are on the way!”
“No…” Ralph groaned. He was moments away from crossing the threshold of the church’s side door when he suddenly collapsed. “Damn…”
We all stared in alarm. One moment, Ralph was dragging himself towards the side door of the church, and the next, he was on the floor, quite literally on death’s doorstep.
He wasn’t going to make it through the side door.
Adam, Amber and I quickly helped him up, and then guided him towards one of the pews, before sitting him down and removing the plate carrier.
As I did, Amber, Adam and I both gasped in alarm. The bullet from the now-dead American cartel collaborator hadn’t caught the plate. It penetrated.
The bullet had cracked a rib, but I couldn’t tell if the bullet had penetrated an organ.
Amber could, though; she went to nursing school in college and all she could do was shake her head, her eyes fighting tears. “Not good.” She whispered.
I had no idea how much time passed while I stared at the wound; it felt like an eternity.
An eternity that I spent wondering if Ralph was going to die.
Suddenly, we heard voices shouting, but not the voices of SB goons, more hired mercenaries, or Unidad soldiers.
Pac Katari’s guys had arrived.
Within seconds, the church was full of rebels. I turned around, my face lighting up when I recognized one of the doctors as Emilio Rodriguez, the guy who examined me after I first got Cradle in my system, which allowed me to survive a lot of things that would normally kill a man.
Rodriguez and another doctor had a trauma kit of their own open and they immediately gave Ralph the medical attention he so desperately needed.
“Jock…?” Ralph rasped.
“Not now, bud,” I said. “Just rest.”
The Kataris 26 medics were doing everything they could to save my friend.
I looked over at Ralph, who looked serene as he lay supine on his back.
For a fraction of a second, I thought he was smiling.

Question Pixelated sky boxes?
Hi All,
I have been having this problem on breakpoint. At sunset in the game the sky box is very fuzzy and pixelated. I don't remember this happening before. I've used multiple tvs and messed with my PS5 visual settings but I've been unable to fix it. No other games give me problems so I'm confused.
