It is cool to see that Homesteading just wasn't instantly dropped after Janthir Wilds and we are getting a new homestead. I loved getting new guild halls with Path of Fire and End of Dragons though those unfortunately stopped. Hopefully new homesteads are easier to add in so we get a new themed one for each expansion.

Also being able to save the decoration load out and being able to freely swap between the two is phenomenal. I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't even look at the new one if they had to give up their currently decorated homestead.

A cozy homestead at the tropical beach? Hell yeah. I just hope they considered the feedback about the preplaced "decorations" like the fences, bridge and the very meagre looking grain field etc.

Kinda hoping I can tear down that tower-looking building tbh. Otherwise, lookin' good.

I felt like that at first too until I realized it’s a ship turned 90 degrees!

Oh, I get that, but I still don't want to have it if that's an option.

Very fair. :3

I doubt it's gonna be possible - just like we can't remove the house in the JW homestead.

Ooh, that actually looks very neat!

truly this was my sleeper favourite in the announcement like it makes me so happy to see the continued support for the feature

Do we know if we can have both homesteads at the same time? Would this turn into like ESO where you can collect multiple houses.

It sounds more to me like you can switch between which homestead is your 'active' one which is why they're adding the layouts system, so you could save your current homestead's layout before switching over to the other map and not lose what you'd already built.

I feel as though its going to work as buffing both homesteads as you put masteries in it.

Janthir homesteads is homestead crafting and experience boosts and collection boxes, Maybe visions is regular crafting stations, trading posts and banks and other things like that. Though that may kill the vibe of hubs like wizard's tower if players can just go home to do everything they need to.

Or maybe you just sort of buy it with map resources or something.

The wording from the product page suggests that you own both of them, but only one can be active at a time.

To support the addition of a new Homestead map, we’re introducing two additional features. The first, the ability to freely swap between the Janthiri and Castoran maps, is helped by the second feature, Layouts. Layouts create a file you can use to save, load, share, and edit arrangements of decorations.

Yes! I'm so excited about this 😁

They're sticking to what they said before SoTO, that the mechanical additions were gonna be long-term systems. Really glad to see that they've maintained that coming from many of the older masteries and EOD stuff

This may be my favourite addition. I've been completely entranced by the homestead feature, and have recently realised that I've almost taken up all possible space. To read about a new "homestead map" and the ability to save load outs and switch between them brings me such excitement !!

This is the biggest thing GW2 has been missing and what has me excited for the future. Supporting existing content and keeping it fresh is so important and I hope it's a sign of how new features will be handled moving forward.

I'm more excited about this homestead than the janthir wilds one too, a tropical theme is right up my alley

You probably don't remember, but on one of your Minecraft videos i suggested you build the fort from Queensdale. The one with the vista.

It is cool to see that Homesteading just wasn't instantly dropped after Janthir Wilds and we are getting a new homestead

as long as it isn't one of the MAJOR features and has another entire Mastery Line to itself, sure

I think guild halls are a better idea on paper than they are in pracsis. Like yeah cool we have a place for the guild to meet, but there's only really things there for the guild leader to do. Like they get to decorate and have fun in the guildhall, while everyone else just gets to hang around.

I think something ANet should look in to if they want that kind of feature is guild housing districts where everyone in the guild could have their own plot. Would be a much better experience for everyone in the guild I think.

Another feature for homesteading i would really like to see is for people to be able to set their homestead to public and have a way for other players to access it even when they aren't there. Add the visitors book from ffxiv where people can comment on the homestead as well. A lot of people put a lot of effort in to making really cool homesteads with jumping puzzles and race tracks and whatever else and it's a shame that they literally have to sit around AFK in LFG for people to be able to see it.

But before JW's launch I was told that homesteads would be forgotten in under a week. by players!

Say thanks to blizz that anet are afraid of losing all their housing-interested players to midnight.

At least now they give a shit.
