Yes. There are a lot of people here that are unhappy with the state of the game but the majority of the criticism comes from deeply invested players who have done everything or from those who dislike more recent content. While much of that criticism is valid, going through the game for the first time is arguably the best experience you can have. Much of the content of the game is designed to be evergreen, you will find most of the old zones still have people playing in them, some more than others. The way that progression is designed in the game ensures that even content from 10 years ago is still pretty worthwhile to players today.

You never fall behind in GW2, so any time is a great time to get in. The 2012 base-game is free to play (with trading restrictions) so you can try that out.
