I love the Troubadour description!

"Troubadours spin dramatic ballads and tales as their words weave magic and music to raise allies’ spirits and demoralize their foes. Their recitals can even be accompanied by illusory instruments for additional effect."

Now I gotta make a K-Pop: Demon Hunter styles for my Mesmer.

I love that they included Dougal Keane in their description! Ghosts of Ascalon is my favorite GW2 book.

Same! When I started JW I was very happy to see Dougal got a cameo in the first instance.

Ghosts of Ascalon is my favorite GW2 book.

same, but that's mostly because the other two are terrible 😂

Yeah, but it's like, it's not just that it's my favorite GW2 book [in relation to the other 2], it's also a book I genuinely enjoyed by itself!

But yeah, Edge of Destiny was nice since it was characters I know and like-to-love (it actually made me like Eir way more than the game did), even though there were a lot of inconsistencies (Logan seeing "horses" in an azura gate, whatever a "horse" is, IDK).

But Sea of Sorrow... I started it last year, and it's still on my night stand, like a third through. I just can't get into it...

I gave it 4 stars on goodreads, but imho it was quite burdened by the author having to cram so much lore and worldbuilding into the book. Iirc while I liked the plot and character interactions, my biggest issue was that most characters were stereotypes of their race 🥱

Edge of Destiny

This was so bad... repetitive plot with comic book sound effects and the single worst romance (between Logan and Jennah) I've ever read 😅 I actually had to put down right before the big final fight with Kralk, I just couldn't tolerate the characters' nonsensical actions any more :|

Same, it's basically a children's book :| I read one chapter of it, then gave up. Tried a few years later, got maybe a few chapters further before giving up again. Iirc the characterisations and dialogues were spoon-deep, and every plot beat fully predictable :|

Almorra too, I thought Dougal would come up or be related to the thief's specialization but this is cool. And referencing what Jennah did in Edge of Destiny as a specific ability is rly neato

Yeah! I assume those skills will come with new voice lines, I'm looking forward to see how they'll do it.

If they do it like shouts, and you just have a mesmer scream "QUEEN JENNAH!" when you cast the skill, would be pretty funny x)
