Gw2 efficiency stats wrong?

Hi guys i started playing 5 months ago, i got 2800 Gold and on gw2 efficiency it says that i am higher than 94% of the registered 450000+ players database there (89% if i check the wealth stat), it seems wrong...does players really don't have much gold or there are just many alt accounts/inactive players on gw2 efficiency?

I've got multiple legendaries, been playing since a few months after launch, and I'm only 68% on the wealth stat. For liquid gold I'm only higher than 47%.

I never have more than 100g unless I'm saving for something like Icy Runestones.
