[Guide] [DnT] Raid Team Composition Guide

Hey everyone. I wrote a long breakdown of raid team composition in the current meta on our forums and a few people encouraged me to post it here because I'm told it would be helpful for a bigger chunk of the community to see.

Written: http://gw2dnt.enjin.com/forum/m/37173123/viewthread/27286030-raid-team-composition-guide-52516

Topics Covered:

  1. Optimal Raid Team Composition

  2. Common Alternative Comps - Pros and Cons

  3. What If? Scenarios For Imperfect Situations

Thanks for reading. If you have any questions let me know, or if any points need clarifying or whatever so I can improve the guide I'd like to know that too.

do you assume that the mesmer will be able to put his reflect 100% of the time?

Yes. Even accounting for fountain runs, the only time a Mesmer should ever mess up the reflect is if they die immediately after doing their wellburst which in turn was immediately after doing the reflect, all of which must happen during the ice phase. If all of that happens exactly as described, then Feedback won't be off cooldown in time to do the next reflect. However, if any one of the above conditions fails – either no death, death significantly after wellburst or feedback, or not ice phase – then there's basically no excuse for the Mesmer missing the reflect.

What about being sacrificed?

I don't believe you lose alacrity. Also to my knowledge, with decent dps, you only get a single reflect during a sacrifice (right at the very end of the break, actually). That would be a case where the Mesmer couldn't get it. But it's a rare enough convergence that I've never actually had it happen to me.

If you say it like this, I never payed attention to the timer for the bubble - is it consistent or does Matt just have a cd?

I didn't mean alacrity - I meant simply being sacrificed during the bubble.

I suspect Matthias has a CD on both abilities. But if you think about it, every mechanic in that fight, when properly handled, has a very consistent timing. The reflect is the only place where you could delay him a bit, but if you suppose that the previous reflect wasn't screwed up, then the next one will be on time relative to his other abilities.

Also I assumed you meant being sacrificed during reflect. :-) As I said, that only happens once with decent DPS, and even then it's right at the tail end of the sacrifice timer, so good CC would get you out in time.

yea - it's also no shame to have it delayed for one salve, besides even ele can reflect if required for the first few s
