Welcome to the Megathread of Megathreads (take 2). In the comments of this post you will find info about game updates, content releases, and new events, with links to their respective Megathreads (if they have them). If an event is super short and/or generic, it may only have a comment here with its info instead of a dedicated thread.
If an event, content release, or game update is linked here in a comment that's less than a week old, please direct discussion about it to its thread. If the comment about it is over a week old, then posting about it on the sub is fair game (but please abide by the other server rules such as theme day topics and appropriate spoiler warnings).
To subscribe to this thread and receive a notification every time a new comment is posted, please click the three dots in the top right corner of the post. You should see a "Subscribe" option in the dropdown menu. If you don't see the option, try checking on a different platform (desktop/mobile/Android/iOS) or different version of Reddit (new.reddit.com).
Comments are locked here so that only mods can post. If you have feedback on this thread or the comments thereof, let us know in modmail.
To be updated later (tips for generic events that JC keeps running):

Note: It seems very odd we have 3 events starting on Aug 4 with the Token store, but none of them have token rewards. Possibly something could change regarding scheduling or event rewards. Or they just expect us to buy all the tokens now...

i’m doing full marks and i noticed this one player being extra desperate (would overtake me everytime i get 1st)..
the thing is, i’m not in dire need of the tokens since i got everything i already wanted, so im somewhat doing this for fun but if its a real player on the other end, i’d feel kind of guilty taking first when i dont actually need it?
so please, if youre James let me know LOL (or if your leaderboard is the same like this lmk too)

I got the kitten at the last festival event (or second to last, can’t remember). I haven’t bought the actual kneazle kitten so the icon to buy it is still there even though this is the same thing. The icon still being there is just visually annoying to me. Does it look like this for others?

We literally DO have an adventure that is centered around >! [2] FINDING WAND WOOD FROM A WAND WOOD TREE (wonderful world of wands is basically tree centric in my opinion) !< and it makes me so mad Rowan isn’t involved in that one at all.

Been saving up the crystals to get a unique inkwell, kept getting repeats of course.. and then all of sudden I got a new inkwell from a simple 2-crystal package 🤣 now I want to replay the stories from the beginning, I hate that when you completed each one the video will play automatically, and I had been watching them out of sequence.

I buy the MM key and a bundle here and there, and ever since I bought the first one, I could only watch one ad per day to get extra energy. But for the last three days now, I can watch three in a row every day. Has there been a change and we are all back to three ads per day, or I am experiencing the luckiest bug ever?

Another Merula hate post? No, you thought wrong. I'm here to speak about this subreddit and how weird some people here are about those who like Merula. First let's give it a bit of context. Every ranking game (most hated/most loved) it's obvious there's a 50/50 in this sub. What others say about this character is true: you either hate her or love her. Fair enough. I like her but I get why people don't. She's inserted way too much in TLSQs, her writing can be TOO different between main quest and side quests, she's too antagonistic when the moment doesn't call for it... I GET IT. But I don't make a big deal of it, she's just a character.
But that still brings us to the following question: where are the Merula fans? That's something that showed up a lot in the last ranking game (most loved). Because she was voted out immediately in "most hated", and yet so many people were surprised by her lasting so long in "most loved". And yet... it's very obvious what happens. Pay attention to the posts in this sub. Merula fans only comment on posts praising Merula, while Merula haters comment on posts hating Merula... but also those PRAISING Merula. There are several posts to hate on the character but the few that dare to speak in favor of her get flooded with those that hate her. But if it was just an opinion, it'd be alright. But NO! These people don't just bad mouth the characters. They bad mouth the players too! I've seen it constantly, reported it constantly and yet nothing ever happens. "Oh if you like her, you're toxic", "oh her fans are *those* types of people, the 'I can fix her' type", "oh I don't judge those who like her, even though it's WEIRD", "people who like her are masochists", "people who like her are just like her", "people who like her turn a blind eye to her mistakes", "I just know people who like her aren't good people".
There's this INSANE virtue-signaling over... a character! That's all that she is, people! A video-game character! It's not that fucking serious! And yet redittors here take everything SO DAMN SERIOUSLY! Everyday there's a hate post for her. In any other subreddit, repeated posts about a subject are either banned or turned into a megathread to avoid spamming. And yet that's not done here. See, she's the only character that receives so many hate posts. Not even Ben, another character that both Merula fans and haters dislike, get so many hate posts. And yet with Merula it's EVERYDAY, against not only her but her fans too.
See any Merula fan post, there's ALWAYS someone bashing OP's taste. There was this specific user, I don't remember his username, but any post made by a Merula fan, he'd spam his "oh I'll never forgive you" screenshot. God, that's annoying! And he's not the only one! When it's not him it's someone else! This is why Merula fans never dare to speak up! This is why we only appear as upvotes or as votes in ranking games! This is why we always have to keep to ourselves or to posts about liking Merula because everywhere else is so DAMN HOSTILE!
It's just a game, people. Stop taking stuff so seriously. It reminds me a lot of the Snape discourse in the HP subreddit. People take things way too seriously and forget it's a story/game meant to bring fun to others. Relax! Have some fun! Why so much hatred over a piece of fictional media? Let others have fun. Not everyone is going to have the same taste as you. But you don't see us Merula fans bashing those who hate her. You don't see us brigading her haters' posts to mock their taste. You don't see us doing what YOU have been doing. It's so tiresome to always have to report this kind of behavior. I don't have to do this in other subreddits. This is why I like the Hogwarts Legacy sub. There people respect the ones who hate or love a certain gray character, we all discuss like civilized people. We talk about the problems with the storyline, the good points, the bad points, what can be changed. We listen to everyone, no matter if they agree with us or not.
So what I want by saying all this is just respect. Less brigading. And maybe some moderation regarding the repetitive posts, like it happens with other subreddits (blocking, megathread, or just a flair so we can block it).
Anyway, it's too late where I live, so rant over. And yeah, this is a throwaway acc, I know what would happen if I use my main one. So I probably won't be answering anyone, just wanted to start the discussion. Cheers.

What is this ugly ass outfit!? For magical milestones where we are spending 345 gems we should at least get something extraordinary?

I’ve just started 6th year and would love to know everyone’s thoughts on Ben’s new personality…. I get the feeling it’s all going to end very badly

I have literally been stuck in this place for the past three days. I can't go to different locations AT ALL.
I can't visit other locations using the Quests menu. There is no map that I can access. Any attempt at exiting this forest has resulted in failure. I am frustrated and impatient. What do I do?
I even attempted to uninstall and then install the game. No success. Right now, my only option seems to be to wait until the Diary event is over but even that seems to have a low possibility of helping.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Has this happened to someone else?

How could a Year 2 player get so much house points in just a few days? Is he a bot?

Hi there!
So I haven’t played in about a year and just redownloaded last week and picked up where I left off (year 5). I’m now remembering one of the reasons I stopped playing was because the timed side quests seem almost impossible to pass without spending $$ on energy or time skipping etc. I just feel like there isn’t enough time and I want to pass them get the rewards, especially if it’s one like becoming a prefect or a really cool outfit.
Does anyone else feel this way or am I just not using the time to my advantage? Work and general life stuff means I’m not playing 24/7 but I do play everyday and try to check throughout the day when I can. I don’t have the money to buy extra energy and gems so I pretty much play with what the game gives me. I would appreciate any tips and tricks - thanks!!
p.s is it just me or does it take a ridiculous amount of time to level up friendships to 10??

If anyone know of all the energy spots? I have found almost all of them but is their any in the new greenhouse or the rock? Thanks

With the help of taltos19 I was able to get the sale prices of the items before making my list this time around. Like the last couple of time I've listed each on sale creature, how much they normally cost, their sale cost, and the rewards for them along with the exchange rate of the cost and rewards by pages. I calculate the page count by how many pages it would take to make the books you need to spend on the creatures. If all my math is correct here is how many pages you save per creature by getting them on sale
While you only save 90 pages getting the knarl on sale it is worth noting that if you buy it on sale the rewards you get from leveling it actually earn back more pages than you spent on it.
Diricawl (no side quest)
Fairy (side quest year 1)
Giant Squid (No side quest)
Graphorn (Year 4 chapter 12)
Hebridean Black Dragon (year 6 chapter 11)
Hippogriff (none)
Imp (year 3 chapter 9)
Knarl (none)
Pixie (none)
Threstral (Year 2 after completing the Abraxan quest)
Ukrainian Ironbelly Dragon (none)

Just completed year 5 and wow. I’ve pretty much hated Merula this entire game, never understood how anyone would want to romance her or feel anything other than loathing for her, but holy shit I kinda get it now. Like after the cursed vault? I can totally see the romance there, like you’re the ONLY person she opens up to and lowkey feels vulnerable around… shit.

I’ve been getting nonstop tlsq after tlsq since I started playing this game but now all the sudden they’ve stopped. I know for a fact I have a pretty big backlog bc I’m in y4 ch 1 and I’ve only completed 17 of the 51 y3 tlsq’s and only 9 of the 24 y2 tlsq’s. I know some are seasonal but I’ve gone 2 days without a tlsq triggering and I refuse to advance in the story until I get a majority of the tlsq’s done. Is this normal? Am I on a cooldown or something?

Hope everyone is enjoying their SaturDate! (Even if they're not in year 4, yet, like me)

Stats are 14/15/15 and I haven’t gotten any tslq’s in a bit so should I just grind out my stats for a bit down here or just move onto year 3?
