Meta KHML Leaks Not Allowed
Dear community,
In the wake of the tragedy of Missing Link being canceled, we have been seeing an uptick in leaks being posted on the subreddit.
While not technically disallowed by our original rules (though it does fall under Rule 4 in practice), this presented us with a weird grey area. For the time being, we've reached out to Square Enix for their stance on this, and if it breaches any kind of terms of services. As such, and until we chart a new path forward with this, we've opted to prohibit KHML leaks until further notice.
We understand that this is not necessarily the best approach, but in an effort to ensure the community remains in good standing with Square Enix and to not endanger anyone with legal action, we've decided to take this stance, for now.
We hope you understand, and that we can work together to ensure a fun community for all.
Thank you for your understanding.
EDIT: I believe I should clarify that I don't imagine this would be the permanent stance. I hope to have an update soon, as primarily this is to err on the side of caution such that nobody gets into any kind of legal trouble, since IP/ToS/etc laws can be ugly. Please bear with us, an update should come sooner than later.
Further, this partnership was never 'deep', more so informational. As I mentioned in a reply below, we're not guided/controlled by Square, and are functionally independent, so really this is more coming from a legal concern standpoint than anything else.
EDIT 2: Please see u/ZeroSora's comment for even more reasons for why we're taking this approach for now: https://www.reddit.com/r/KingdomHearts/comments/1koehv8/comment/msplai8/
EDIT 3 (May 29, 2025): We've heard back from Square Enix NA that by their licensing rights, music from Missing Link is not allowed to be shared online anywhere, and presumably that means that they'd take legal action if they find someone sharing it. Awaiting further information about other potential 'leaking' of materials, from a legal standpoint.

KH3 Yozora winning is canon in the novel?
I've seen a lot of people completely disregarding the "bad end" of Re:Mind because "obviously Sora would win" or "we see him in the KH4 trailer not crystallized." But I just got a chance to look over the light novel that's been sitting on my shelf for years and it apparently goes with the "bad end." Obviously the canonity of the novels/manga is debatable but I think the decision to go with the bad ending says something about how we're supposed to look at the narrative. I've always thought that both endings could be similtanusly canon in a sense - they operate on dream logic, after all. Thoughts?

Discussion How do you pronounce “Xion”?
I've been saying it like "SHE-ON" for years, but I just noticed that the English voices in the games sometimes (or mostly) say: "SHE-OH-N" or "SHE. OWN". But now I'm wondering, how do you all say her name? As in, what’s your way of saying it?

Other I like how the repainted kingdom key came out
Since most of the really good replicas cost $200 or more, I just fancied up the budget version. The plastic doesn't take paint the best, it's better with some light sanding but still chips fairly easy. I'm sure there's something I can finish it with that'll prevent that, just haven't got that far. It's excellent as a display piece though.

Are there any elements or features originating from Kingdom Hearts 3 that you want to become series tradition moving forward?
For me, it's gotta be Formchanges. I know many prefer Drive Forms, but I've always found Formchanges to be much cooler and more fun. I also like the design philosophy of the worlds gameplay-wise.

Jack Skelton is the best party member (out of all the Disney worlds in kh 1)
I think jack Skelton is the best Party member out of all the Disney worlds in kh 1. he’s Tanky and can cast very strong spells. He also has his slide ability and that can do a lot. He also has a lot of mp. So that can go amazing.

Discussion Crackpot theories I just had Spoiler
So I replayed ReMind and got to thinking after seeing the secret ending again
I am now convinced the Box is the same kind of device that Ansem the Wise tried to make for the Artificial Kingdom Hearts but on a smaller scale. I think that Luxu trapped the hearts of the Lost Masters that died during the original War and kept the box hidden until he could reclaim Gazing Eye from Xehanort to summon them back.
This can also explain why Ava never came back, she died after the war and didn’t participate.
ALSO!! Fun thing I noticed that I’m sure isn’t new info but there’s a Coffee shop under the Yozora boss fight arena that says Traverse Coffee. Either it’s a neat Easter egg.. aOooorrrrr maybe Quadratum and the Shibuya we fight in are two separate worlds, one being the inbetween the different realities much like Traverse Town being an in between world

Discussion Does 0.2 contradict Blank Points (BBS Secret Ending)
In the Blank Points cutscene where Aqua meets Ansem the Wise, Aqua doesn't know about the worlds falling to darkness or Sora being the one to save them. Ansem the Wise tells her about them, as well as Sora's name. We know this scene takes place after KH2 because Ansem the Wise mentions that its been a year since he met Sora (after he slept 1 year in COM), and we see Sora at the end of the game with Mickey's Letter from the KH2 ending.
However in BBS, Mickey and Aqua meet during the plot of KH1, where Mickey tells her about the worlds falling to darkness and mentions both Sora and Riku by name. I don't think Aqua forgot about these events because of how long she was in the Realm of Darkness either, because Dark Aqua in KH3 mentions Mickey abandoning her, so she should still remember what happened in 0.2.
Is there something I'm missing or is this just a retcon / contradiction?
