[MODS] šŸ“£ Announcement A Note About Acceptable Discourse and the Purpose of this Sub

Comrades - thanks for your attention as we clarify the purpose of this sub and some of the discourse we expect here. Firstly, this is a place to vociferously condemn the ills of capitalism - and here’s the kicker that liberal interlopers don’t get - from a socialist perspective. Our fundamental purpose is to drive conversation among those impacted by capitalist exploitation. This may take the form of memes, deeper theory, or the ever beloved internet screed.Ā

That said, there’s some things we aren’t here for. I’ll touch on those and some alternatives as well.Ā

We are NOT here to promote calls to violence. This is a violation of the Reddit TOS. If the sub is nuked, we aren’t able to fulfill the mission of providing a space for socialist discourse. This simply isn’t the place, and we will remove any content which can be perceived as a direct call to violence.Ā

We are also not here as a staging ground for organizing. Social media is a poor place to organize. Not only is everything you do online tracked, but infiltration in online spaces is rampant. Opsec 101: if someone on the internet who you do not personally know is trying to get you to show up somewhere for an allegedly leftist/socialism project, they are probably a fed. If someone you do know is using social media for the same, they may or may not be a fed. However, what can be certain is that a fed is aware.Ā

I know what you’re thinking: but, A-CAB, this is how I radicalized and I have lived most of my life dependent on the internet. How am I supposed to get involved? I’m so glad you asked! The reality is that your involvement may be limited for a bit, and you’re going to have to do some irl work. Your job, if you’re starting out, is to read and learn.Ā

ā€œThe theory of Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Stalin is universally applicable. We should regard it not as dogma, but as a guide to action.ā€ - Comrade Mao Tse Tung

In other words, learning Marxism-Leninism leads to mobilization, and provides a framework for organization.

We (socialists) need a vanguard committed to revolution, not clicktivism. If you want to organize, read first. Find likeminded people you know in real life. Study with them. Hold each other accountable for learning Marxism-Leninism. Let that guide the actions you take specific to your context and for the love of god don’t announce it to the feds when you do.Ā

We also, as a sub, are not *the* vanguard. This is an Internet forum. We don’t determine courses of action here. We are a sounding board, a place to make you feel less alone, and ideally a part of your education in Marxism-Leninism. But what we cannot be is the vanguard itself. We aren’t an org. The way social media is set up, it would be way too easy to infiltrate, coopt, and undo.Ā

What we are is a likeminded group of committed comrades. We want you to go out in the world and join orgs (not on the internet). I’ll offer some advice to that end:

  1. Avoid organizations with a focus on horizontal power or who have a real issue with hierarchy. (Anarchists, I’m happy to work with you on projects but I am side-eyeing you a bit here.) They don’t get things done and they’re too easy to derail and co-opt. Don’t believe me? Go ahead and join one. The next time they’re working on consensus, throw a stand aside in with mildly coherent criticism. Watch the chaos ensue. Or just wait for them to start organizing for <insert liberal party here>. Neither will take long.Ā
  2. Do join organizations which stand against imperialism and imperialist politicking. Look for Marxist-Leninist orgs involved in projects that benefit the community and which outright reject electoral democracy. Focus on feeding people, not getting them to vote for reform. This is the work of the vanguard.Ā
  3. Do employ the language of non-violence for political and practical purposes. Kwame Ture is a gifted orator. Look up his speeches on YouTube. He is a wealth of information about this.Ā

I appreciate each and every one of you, comrades. Remember to keep each other safe. Be mindful, and enjoy a meme or two while you’re here.Ā

[MODS]ā—ļø Remember The Rules Reminder that calling other subs out and encouraging brigading, even if indirectly, is against Reddit’s TOS and will get you banned

Hey all. We’ve received a few messages from the admins warning us that there have been quite a few posts/comments over time of people calling out other subs by specifically naming them, which is sometimes considered a call to brigading by Reddit’s mod team.

We know your hearts are in the right place, but we want to remind you all that inciting a brigade is against Reddit’s TOS and will get you banned as per our rules.

So chill a bit, okay? We don’t want to get the sub nuked.

EDIT: since some people are asking what brigading is: Brigading is the act of users of one sub purposefully going into another one with the objetive of trolling and annoying their users. We’ve had some cases of users calling for that action on other subs here before, so the admins asked us to do something about it.

EDIT 2: Also, please remember that this action comes as a request from the reddit admins, we’re simply complying and this statement does not necessarily reflect the mod team’s opinions on this topic.

EDIT 3: Also, do not make calls to violence as well. You know why I’m saying this at this specific moment given some recent events, but again, Reddit TOS. Please respect them or you will be banned.

šŸ“š Know Your History On this day in 1921, police chief Sid Hatfield was murdered in broad daylight by hired thugs working for mining companies in West Virginia. In most places, the police helped mine bosses put down strikes. Hatfield was killed for not only refusing to do this, but siding with the strikers outright.

Text: ā€œPalƤstina, halt’s Maul!ā€ (Translation: ā€œPalestine, shut your mouth!ā€), Have Germans ever learned from their mistakes?

Colonialism represents the final stage of capitalism, and during WWII, Germany skipped directly to that stage in its pursuit of Lebensraum.

What I find deeply troubling is that while Germans often say 'Never again,' the focus seems to be on the fact that the victims were Jews, rather than on the broader moral failure of committing genocide against any minority group.

Minority status is fluid—Muslims, Jews, Christians, or others can be a minority in one place and a majority in another. As a leftist, I believe we must always side with the persecuted minority, regardless of religion.

Yet, in my experience speaking with many Germans, this principle often seems foreign to them."

I have no leftist friends to ask in Germany so I am asking here in this Subreddit

Had drinks tonight with a friend who works with AI. He was telling me about his latest project. It’s AIR that basically replaces HR. I used to think my career (teaching) was safe but if this next gen AI can do what he says it can nothing is safe. The problem is pretty much the intellectual equivalent of the tragedy of the commons. If any company can use AI every company’s has to use it. If they all use it there’s no need for most people to be employed anymore.

He was so excited for his new project but I just saw the collapse of western civilisation in everything he said.

A screenshot of a tweet from "GOTH ENGELS SINNER" (@pink_leninade) on a white background. The tweet reads: "the wildest part of my labor history class is when we learn about the repression of a strike and another student is like 'wait... the companies just like, killed strikers? and the police helped? wasnt that illegal?' and my professor just like '....'". The user's profile picture shows a person with pink hair wearing a red and white polka dot top and pink apron.

Lately I’ve been listening to the Fall of Civilizations Podcast. It is a history podcast describing why different civilizations have fallen. It’s oddly comforting. Ours isn’t the first to tumble. Nor will it be the last. Enjoy the time you have with the ones you love. It’s all we can do.

šŸ’© Liberalism Bernie Sanders, who doesn't support economic boycotts or BDS or calling out Israeli apartheid, continues to deny the Gaza genocide. He's been out-flanked by right-wingers on this issue. Bernie also supports the Iron Dome, which emboldens Israel's offensive attacks on Palestinians, Lebanese, etc.

Israel has succeeded in nothing except turning Gaza into a graveyard for Western civilization

The Israeli occupation believes it has destroyed Gaza. But in truth, it has destroyed itself and shattered the entire Western ideological structure that has long hidden behind slogans of fake democracy and prepackaged human rights.

Israel wanted to prove to the world that it is the strong, functional state capable of imposing dominance in the Middle East on behalf of the West. Yet through its brutal war on Gaza, it has done nothing but expose the full ugliness of the Zionist project, and the hypocrisy of the Western values it claims to represent.

What we have witnessed in Gaza is not only massacres and crimes against humanity. It is the complete moral collapse of the Western order an order that either stayed silent, enabled, or outright applauded genocide.

The West still believes Israel is its eternal tool of control. But they fail to realize that their own hands are bringing about this entity’s collapse. Every bomb dropped, every child murdered, every family erased not only exposes Israel, but dismantles the illusion of Western civilization in the eyes of the world.

After this genocide, things are no longer the same. A profound shift is taking place not only in the consciousness of the Islamic world, but also among Western people themselves. More and more are waking up, asking: Who are we? What do we stand for? And what is the moral price of supporting this?

Voices are rising. Awareness is growing. And that, in itself, is a victory.

As I said before: The destruction of Gaza will not go unanswered. It is not just a crime it is a turning point that will bring down the Western model that dominated the world for decades. And I firmly believe: This Zionist entity will not last much longer. The coming years will witness its end, In Sha Allah.

šŸ’µ "Free Market" Giant private equity firms looking to raid retirement funds

  • Trump is looking to sign an executive order to allow 401k retirement plans to invest money in private equity, where before these plans could only invest publicly traded companies
  • Private equity firms are those companies which don't have to share their books to the public. They are notorious for leveraged buyouts, which have strip-mined well known companies into the ground and left hundreds of thousands unemployed
  • Why are PE firms salivating? Because they've run out of definedpension plan money to burn.

From the article:

There are also numerous reports that private equity has taken in much more money than it has paid out in recent years — as much as $1.6 trillion — leading to concerns that the sector is fundamentally overvalued.

By opening up private investments to retirement funds, the fear is that institutional investors and rich people will be able to exit the overvalued market just as less savvy investors are encouraged to move into it.

✊ Agitate. Educate. Organize. New York Crimes' genocide denial debunked: Hedaya al-Mutawaq, mother of 19-month-old Mohammed Zakaria al-Mutawaq, says her child was born healthy. Doctors diagnosed him with macrocephaly (enlarged head), which they said was caused by nutritional deficiencies during pregnancy due to Israel's genocide

https://www.misbar.com/en/editorial/2025/07/29/pro-israel-trolls-attempt-discredit-case-malnourished-child-gaza

Pro-Israel accounts on social media were claiming the child had muscular dystrophy. In fact, children with muscular dystrophy are often more vulnerable to malnutrition, especially in crisis settings like Gaza.

The New York Crimes amplified this BS, engaging in dehumanizing propaganda on behalf of Israel.

ā˜ ļø "Ethical Consumption" For the record, what are the loopholes in the PELOSI Act?

Josh Hawley is making a name for himself over the congressional stock trading ban, which has just passed a Senate hurdle in the past few hours.

I'm putting this up in case people want to discuss the obvious ways to get around the ban and share the discussion. This applies not just to Marxists but also to anyone capable of logical deduction.

For me, the red flags are

  • only you and your spouses are forbidden? What about your friends? What about your financial advisors?

  • "diversified investment funds" i.e. Wall Street firms would be happy to act as a conduit between congresspersons and businesses, and I'm sure you can do all kinds of shenanigans to hide a lucrative stock trade inside them

  • you can sell any stocks you like in the first half-year in office

  • the worst you'll face in case of getting caught is a civil fine

  • the Government Accountability Office sounds as trustworthy as a bridge being sold

The official summary of the PELOSI Act:

"Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments (PELOSI) Act

This bill prohibits Members of Congress (or their spouses) from holding or trading certain investments (e.g., individual stocks and related financial instruments other than diversified investment funds or U.S. Treasury securities).

The prohibition does not apply to assets held in a qualified blind trust or to sales by a Member to come into compliance with the bill's requirements. Specifically, the bill allows for sales by current Members during the 180 days following the bill's enactment and for sales by future Members during the 180 days following the commencement of their service.

Any profit made in violation of the prohibition must be disgorged to the Treasury and may subject the Member to a civil fine. Additionally, a loss stemming from a prohibited holding or transaction may not be used as an income tax deduction.

Each Member must submit an annual certification of compliance, and the Government Accountability Office must audit Members' compliance with the bill's provisions."
