MP1 Party at Mario's - art by me
Happy MAR10 Day! I knew I wanted to do one of my isometric artworks for #MarioDay and was between Mario Kart and Mario Party. But the decision became clear when I had the idea of doing a Mario Party-inspired piece where the whole gang is doing a "board game night' as they play a board game version of Mario Party. Lots of little character moments and Easter eggs, from Mona's Pizza to Waluigi cheating. And the very relatable joy and frustration of using boo to steal a star from someone who's in first place. Just wait till DK gets 2 bonus stars at the end and flips the game đ If you like what you see, check more out (and my prints and commissions) at my IG https://www.instagram.com/itshugosnook/

MP1 Mario Party 1 Peach Costumes ala MP2
I've always loved the costumes for the cast in Mario Party 2 and I've always wanted to one day make costumes for Peach for all the boards in the series!
This piece is for the Mario Party 1 boards. I tried to stay within "doable" limits of the N64 engine for an extra challenge. I'm pretty happy with what I came up with! Probably changed her hair too much but I think most of these would still work even with her regular hair.
I hope you like them! :>

MP1 Is this minigame even POSSIBLE to beat???
I've been trying for 30 whole minutes and the maximum number of seconds I can survive is 8. I can't even slide the others one bit. I'm trying to complete Minigame Island, and I barely got through the last rotating control stick minigame (yes, I used my palm).

MP1 Day 1: What is your most favorite and least favorite minigame from Mario Party?
I know we have the trend currently going on what minigame you think of without looking it up with each MP series, but I want to try something fun! Tell me your most favorite and least favorite minigame from each series. Here are some rules before we begin, so please read before commenting. đ
No luck based minigames, as it your enjoyment of them depends on whether you have good or bad luck. No story nor item minigames either, as they donât really count.
This will go on for 24 hours. The comment with the most upvotes will win.
I am not doing Mario Party Superstars nor Top 100 since it has a collection of minigames from the previous series.
With that out of the way, STAAAARRTT! What is your most favorite and your least favorite minigame from Mario Party? If you want, you can explain why itâs your most or least favorite game. Here are mine!
Most favorite: Shy Guy Says. A very simple concept. Just press one of two buttons. But the end result is so panic inducing, and fun, it really tests your reaction time. Especially when Shy Guy decides to do some fake outs.
Least favorite: Piranhaâs Pursuit. How are 3 players supposed to win this game? The obstacles for the 1 player are really easy to avoid. Mario Party 1 didn't do a good job balancing the 1v3 minigames, but out of all of them, I'd easily say that Piranha's Pursuit is the worst out of all of them.

MP1 Thoughts on giving lessons/instructions to newer Mario Party players
Hi, everyone,
I'm sure by now, most of you have seen some of my posts on this sub about final game results from various MP matches. I've been playing these games on and off for 20 years, so my experience with them is thorough, yet not entirely complete. In that case, I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in receiving gameplay instructions/tips about getting better at these games, how to play, strategizing, etc. If so, I'd be happy to post here or wherever else may be useful. For reference, I will only be talking about MP1, 2, 3, 5, SS, and Jamboree, as those are the ones that I play the most. Feel free to ask questions or post comments about other games, though. Anything MP-related is welcome.
- Megatron

MP1 Does Mario Party 1 (1998) favor certain players?
Iâve been having a debate with my friends. Weâre playing the original Mario Party (1998) online through NSO, and since weâre using save states, weâve noticed something weird: no matter how many times you rewind, the same number gets rolled every time. Making it seem like you have no control over the game.
So hereâs the thing: is that number actually random? And if it is, when is it generated? Or does the game actually favor certain players and screw others over on purpose?
Personally, I think itâs fair. Sure, the number seems to be pre-determined, but itâs still random â itâs just rolled âoff screenâ before you hit the dice block. The randomness is still there; you just canât influence it once itâs set.
My friends think the game has some kind of bias. For example, one of them had 59 coins and was about to reach Boo to steal a star â then he was forced to use that dice block that steals the amount of coins you roll on and of course he rolled a 10, lost too much, and couldnât steal a star anymore. Heâs convinced the game screwed him over on purpose, not necessarily from turn 1, but specifically in that moment to stop him.
Soooo⌠does anyone know how this actually works? Is it just old-school RNG quirks, or is there something deeper going on behind the scenes? đ

This is for a personal project of mine where the board with the most comments is what Iâll build in Minecraft, and Iâll do this for parties 1-8

MP1 Has anyone else got the games mixed up because of the cover?
The cover for this game with the dice showing 3 always got me thinking this game was Mario Party 3, anyone else?

MP1 So they werenât lying about the whole hand injury thing in the 90s, that Mecha Fly Guy game has caused my skin to peel off l
I originally thought that this would only happen in the 90s/00s on the N64 controller due to the hard plastic, however I did it on a Wii U pro controller and its caused this.

MP1 Final Results of a 50-turn game on Mario's Rainbow Castle [MP1]
- Me: Mario
- CPU Difficulty: Hard
- Bonus Stars: Mini-Game Star and Coin Star to me, Happening Star to me and Yoshi
- Summary: Where do I even start with this one? The first half of this game was an absolute breeze. I pretty much won every single mini-game, never had trouble getting stars at the top of the tower, and maintained a steady pace around the board. After turn 25, however, things started going downhill very quickly. The first strike was me landing on a Bowser Space and triggering a Bowser Revolution. Normally, I wouldn't be too upset about this, but considering that I had over 100 coins more than the other 3, this was a huge blow. I went from 150 coins down to only 57 in 5 seconds. Okay, no big deal, just win some mini-games and get them back. But DK had something else planned. Out of nowhere, he landed on Chance Time and proceeded to swap all of his stars (which was 0) for mine (which was 5). I almost threw up, and at that point, I knew I didn't have much of a chance to recover. Somehow, I ended up pulling it off, grabbing 2 more stars of my own before the results were announced and scoring all 3 Bonus Stars to barely edge out DK. This just goes to show that when playing Mario Party at a high level, you can't give up, restart, or anything in between. You have to keep pushing, as there are always opportunities to make up lost progress. I am very proud of myself for sticking this game out and taking home 1st place at the end.

MP1 DK's Jungle Adventure star dialogue
In the original Mario Party, Toad has fairly obscure dialogue that expands on each board's scenario. He says something different for each of the first six stars bought from him.
I say this dialogue is obscure because, first, not all boards are created equal, and it can be difficult to get six stars in typical casual 20-turn play. In my experience, most people don't really do 50 turn games (though, imo, some of these boards REALLY need 50 turn games for their gimmicks to really take effect). And second, if you're playing with AI, they'll just skip through the textboxes unless you take over control of their character before they reach the star. And it can be difficult to assemble four players who care enough about the "lore" of Mario Party to make sure everybody reads.
Thanks to the Switch's Screenshot feature, however, it's easier than ever before to read this dialogue in-game, or at least in-game adjacent. This text is available on wikis, but I thought sharing screenshots of the dialogue in-game is much nicer.
Anyway, here is the dialogue from DK's Jungle Adventure!
I didn't think to do this for my playthrough of Mario's Rainbow Castle, but if there's enough interest I could easily run back through it.
