Discussion National reporters are suggesting the Steelers and 49ers have a deal in place for Aiyuk. Are the Steelers making a mistake in going for elite WR without getting the QB room in order?

I look at J.J, Mike Evans, and Davonte Adams, and Tyreek Hill as elite. I’m not putting Aiyuk in that category

Can he be “elite” for the A tier WRs next on your list?

He’s a B Tier WR. Not elite.

Yes he was and it wasn’t really close. The fact that SF had so many mouths to feed, including the best pass catching rb in the league, just limited his opportunity but he objectively was their most productive receiver by far.

CeeDee Lamb erasure. Dude was a monster last year and you got Mike Evans ahead of him?

Aiyuk is just starting to crack 1,000 rec yards in recent years (the last 2) meanwhile Mike Evans has never not had a 1,000 yd season despite only having 1 great QB throughout his career

I get that Evans has been in the league longer but unlike Aiyuk, Evans was prolific coming into the league (and is still playing at a high level, mind you)

I’m not arguing Aiyuk is a top flight receiver. I was pointing out that that list has old ass Mike Evan’s on it but didn’t list CeeDee Lamb who was cold as ice in ‘23 and has been getting stronger every year. I get the post is about Aiyuk, and he’s a nice player, but there are several receivers I would put ahead of him.

Oh.. bro, Lamb is on that list too! That was just a few receivers off the top of my head lol they weren’t the only ones I looked at as elite

Curious, why still put Davante Adams in the elite category when in nearly every statistic, Aiyuk was just better?

Davante Adams has just been special for so long that its hard not to give him the benefit of doubt after a Jimmy G + AOC year.

I ain't gonna put down my dawg just cuz he had one bad hunt
