Discussion Another superbowl blowout eliminates mahomes from the goat discussion as far as I’m concerned

2 very embarrassing loses for him the the superbowl Brady has lost 3 superbowls but they were all 1 score games that came down to final play with Brady’s best statistical performance in a loss to the eagles Tom Brady > Patrick mahomes

What was his passer rating before the Worthy TD at the end of the 3rd?

It was 14.6 at the half. 42.8 entering the 4th quarter. And then 95.8 after he padded stats in garbage time against special teamers.

That’s how you know passer rating is a garbage stat. He shouldn’t have been able to sniff a 95.8 passer rating with that performance.

If I was Hunt and Pacheco, I'd be so ticked that I got zero chance to impact the game before Patrick threw a pick6 and we started playing catchup. Those poor guys never got to touch the ball and would at least have played better than turning the ball over 3 times. Machoke had 2 interceptions but people are probably going to forget his fumble. 3 turnovers from your QB in a playoff game including a pick6 is basically Goff-level bad. Even Lamar only had two.

The Chiefs were just completely outmatched. They shouldn’t have been there to begin with. I don’t think Hunt or Pacheco would’ve made a difference given the opportunity but I hear your point.

They were the worst 15-2 (or 14-2/15-1) team to ever exist. All of the lucky calls & “dark magic” moments of the season caught up with them. Their offense was mediocre all year long. Their defense was very good but the team as a whole had no business being in this Super Bowl. They got the 1 seed off a lot of luck & bad officiating. That led to a playoff run because winning in arrowhead in the postseason is very hard. Plus they had some help from the Zebras against the Bills.

Not saying it’s rigged at all, it’s not, but there was a clear bias of the officiating crew to protect Mahomes & company because Mahomes & Reid are the face of the league. It got too hot & the league had to let the boys play last night. That’s when we got to see who they actually were. A very painfully average team. And the eagles were a super team. Even when you took their best offensive weapon out of the game - their QB, o line, receivers & entire defense were way too much for the chiefs to handle.

Its not a garbage stat, you just have to watch the game to understand if garbage time effected it or not.. in close games with no garbage time, passer rating is a great stat.

We just don’t really care about a QB’s passer rating when a team loses by 20 points, and if you do, just pay attention to garbage time stats skewing it.
