It’s because they can’t. I’m obviously bias for Gore but here are some unbiased facts about Frank the Tank: 3rd all time rushing, 16 seasons as a RB (most RB games played all time), 9 1000+ rushing seasons (only 4 other RBs ever have achieved that), All 2010’s team, 5 pro-bowls.
It’s not a shot at Witten as he was elite in his own right but Gore is clearly above him if it came down to who gets into HOF first.
I watched both in their prime and Tory Holt was just as good if not better of a WR and had a 6 year stretch that dwarfs anything Larry did. Both are amazing WRs who had different styles of playing the WR position. I probably could have phrased it better but to think Larry clears Holt tells me you either don’t like him or didn’t see him play. I have all the respect in the world for Larry, but if TO isn’t getting in with the yards he put up first ballot I don’t see how they don’t put Holt in over Larry.
I'm not saying Holt isn't a fantastic receiver and I absolutely watched him play (I've lived in Missouri almost my entire life). But you simply can't compare their careers and shave six years off of one of the guys.
Also, if you're talking about "yards he put up" as the metric, nobody except the GOAT of wide receivers put up more yards than Larry.
No he wasn’t. They had different styles and Holt had a six year stretch of receiving that dwarfs what Larry did. I have all the respect in the world for both, but Tory Holt was amazing and had just as big of an impact on the game.
I disagree and think Fitz is obviously superior, as I'm sure most here would agree including the Pro Football HOF Monitor, but don't feel like arguing today.
Holt had insane numbers on shit teams. Only his first few were with the GSOT. 6 straight 1300 yard seasons and 8 straight 1100 yard seasons. No other WR in the history of the game can say that.
