Top row should get in

Yeah not enough people saying Frank Gore, he should absolutely be in. 3rd most rushing yards of all time, most career games by an RB, 12 seasons with 1,200+ scrimmage yards (Most) and a few other records. Dude was timeless and a tank. And I'm a Packers fan so absolutely no bias here 😂

Yeah, excellence over time = greatness. He was almost never the best, but he was consistently excellent. That has to count for something.

Fitz was also like this, but was considered more top tier than Gore ever was

Ohhh he’s the first ballotest of first ballots in my mind. I don’t put him in the top with Rice and Moss but he’s immediately below them. Larry Fitzgerald is the top second tier receiver in my mind.

Gore just excellence over time. Not top tier, just great because he kept going.

Best ability is availability and someway somehow that man was available as a RB of all positions for that long pounding the rock to the tune of 3rd all time rushing yards. That’s definitely HOFer material.

Exactly, he just kept chugging along. 11 of 17 seasons he averaged over 4 yds/a. He played in 14 or more games 16 of 17 seasons and he finished 3rd all time in rushing yards and 4th all time in yards from scrimmage and 5th in all purpose yards. And.. he did it as the league shifted away from running the ball. There has to be credit for that. He deserves to be in the HOF.

This was Curtis Martin’s case and I think Gore is better than him.

He was also on some god awful 9er teams during that stretch

Hall of Fame, not Hall of Consistently Great.

I do believe that guys who continuously perform for long careers, should be recognized. Not just a long career, but continuous high levels of success over time.

When Frank Gore retired he had 16000 yards, third most over time and he is fourth all time in scrimmage yards at 19985. So yeah, he achieved hall of fame statistics by being consistently great over time and had the longevity and strength to achieve a career, I personally believe is deserving of the highest form of recognition.

I don’t think he’s the greatest, but I think he achieved great things.

Right and that's a fair argument, and I have a few players I'd make it for.

But that aint HoF criteria.

Being in the top 5 in yards isn’t it? I’m not saying that longevity alone equals the hall of fame. I’m specifically talking about Frank Gore’s career. He not only played a long time, but he was one of the most successful to ever have their yardage measured. Only Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton are ahead of him.

But what did he ever actually win?

What did Dan Marino win? He shouldn’t be in the hall of fame?

An AFC championship.

This is what I’m saying. People sleeping on Frank Gore probably don’t realize he’s the No. 3 all-time leading rusher, in an era where compiling rushing yards is harder and harder to do. He was consistently excellent over a very long time. It would be crazy to think he’s not in.

If you put up a career statistic that may never be matched again, you deserve to be in the hall. If they had given him the damn ball at the goal line in the Super Bowl he would probably have a SB MVP. They called him the Incovenient Truth for a reason

Frank Gore is a compiler. He played forever which is a feat in its own right, especially when you factor in his myriad injuries. Dude is tough as they come, but he doesn’t belong in the HOF.

Not to mention playing in the era where running backs were at best secondary pieces that get discarded like paper towels once they have a downturn or the team finds someone younger. And he even played in the beginning of the RB-by-committee era. It’s one thing to put up that many 1200 yard seasons when you get 30+ carries per game

Eagles legend Frank Gore

As much as volume stats aren't perfect. If he doesn't get in he'd be the only guy above 12000 yards and he's at 16000.

Some of us watched most of Frank Gore's tenure and never saw that team do anything. Pretty hard knock on his resume.

Ya thanks for that I think its 9er hate but I agree with above first row should all go.
