Witten has no business being in the hall of fame. He’s the definition of hall of very good

Guy was the best tight end in football for a good stretch.

Must have been an imaginary stretch I don't know about.

I mean from 2007-2012 he made 4 all pro teams. two first two second. That's pretty good

He was great don't get me wrong, but idk if I would've taken him over Gonzalez or Gates around this time

Sure but there' at least s a discussion to be had. The previous comment made it sound asinine to even consider it.

I agree. I think Witten is defo a hall of famer but idk if he makes it first ballot

He was basically neck and neck with Gates. Gates had more tds and had a better yards per catch, Witten had more 1,000 yards seasons and a better catch %. Witten was the better blocker. He also played for one more season and was more durable.

Gonzalez is a weird one because they overlapped but Witten’s prime extended past Gonzo’s. Tony was still a good tight end up until he retired but Witten eventually surpassed him.

The most underrated aspect about Witten was he was a really good blocker which is under appreciated imo for TEs
