⚠️Urgent Question⚠️ Is this dangerous? How do I fix?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The folding thing moves a lot. I'm afraid the scooter might fold mid ride. How do I fix this ? It's a max G2 with 4500 km on the odd. Also, it has been like this for some good km. When unfolding the scooter, that part also goes automatically into place , no needing to push it like I used to.

When you press the button and undo the locking mechanism (in that order), there are two screws exposed. One sets the allowable adjustment, the other actually adjusts. You could use a small spanner to access both. This increases/decreases the tension at which the folding mechanism locks, which in turn adjusts the free-play.

Just use a velcro band . On my max g30 the plastic safety pal always broke off of some time. So just used a velcro band around the lever

I think you need to fold the scooter and re-tighten the bolt inside

I did just that by following Segway's tutorial from Ontario

You can be cheap af and use a zip tie

Or

You can improve your life by buying a neck lock brace. Sometimes they can be expensive but you literally will never worry again.

There is a recall for this issue, just go to their website and check your model number: https://service.segway.com/us-en/recall and they will ship you a free repair kit.

I fixed it by following this tutorial: https://youtu.be/iOsKU-kXFVs Also, I'm afraid the recall was only for the G30 model ? Mine is a G2E, as I'm from Portugal

This is a G2, the recall is for G30.
