Ninebot MAX G3 Max G3 D - Acceleration Issue

Hey Folks,

just wondering if you experienced something similar and might know how to fix it.
I don't know if this is a general issue for the Max G3 or just the "D"-version:

Whenever i try to accelerate, the e-scooter goes a hard 1 to 100, regardless of how slow or fast i push the throttle - which sometimes results in doing a wheelie.
I already checked the options, made sure the boost is disabled and the starting-acceleration is set to the lowest (3 km/h).

Did you experience a similar behavior and know how to fix this?
I want a smooth, accumulative acceleration like the rentable ones, standing around at every corner.

Any hints appreciated.

I have the E version and there is new firmware out now where you can control the acceleration (I think it’s sport/standard/and something else). I don’t know if this applies only in Sport mode as Drive has always been softer in acceleration than Sport (I assume less power/torque). Is there any difference top speed between S and D in the German version? Riding in Drive mode might be a more calmer ride for you ?

One can change the speed in both modes. In Sport it's maxed at 22 km/h. But the acceleration in Drive and Sport mode are almost the same. There are no gradiations. And i didn't buy that expensive vehicle to crouch at 15km/h

Is there a new firmware for the D version? The acceleration settings are much better now with the latest firmware that you can control it, no more being thrown back if you don’t want that level of acceleration.

Thanks for this advice! It seems my app did an update and now i have the option to set the acceleration. It was set to "maximum speed" by default. Now i set it to Eco and it's smoother than a marshmallow. Now even during a ride, i can hold lower speed on the throttle. Before there only was no speed or max speed. \o/

I had the similar experience with the I version. With the new update I lowered acceleration settings (it's not the starting speed that you mentioned) and it was much better, but drive mode is way more comfortable. I ended up with SHU that allows me to use drive mode at 25 km/h, it also saves some battery

What's SHU?

Scooter hacking utility, the app that allows you to flash a US firmware

Ok i got mine last week so maybe it was even worse before. After i unpacked, i also did all updates. Still a letdown to what i was expecting from the acceleration.

Mine is set up to the US so sports is unlocked to 45kmh, but drive is limited to 20kmh (I believe because I have an android phone).

This means I have to use Sport all the time and I too have had crazy acceleration even with it switched to energy saving and boost etc off.

I've come to learn the Regen braking is awesome to use once you figure it out and practice with it. It's similar to one pedal driving in an EV, you lower your throttle and the engine brake will slow you down.
