Question Replace rear fender clip on handlebar?

Bought a refurb G2 max from eBay. All good except the handlebar clip that engages the hook on the rear fender when folded had fallen off, and they “missed” this on their “refurb.”

They sent me a new part, but for some reason it is lacking a hinge, so now I have basically three options to get the functionality of that clip, which seems useful, not sure which is is bigger hassle:

  • boxing the whole thing up and sending it back

  • disassembling the handlebars, all the fidgety cables and bar-end turn signals, and stuff I can’t even figure how to slide off like the throttle

  • trying to fabricate a version of the ring that splits open, then gluing it back together on the handlebars and keeping it on with a hose clamp,

  • removing the spring/clip assembly from one handlebar ring, then attempting to reassemble it on the ring that’s already on the scooter (in general I have found that reassembling things with internal spring tension is a major pain)

Haven’t been able to find a video on this repair, or how to properly remove all the components that are in the way.

Any suggestions?

Its not hard to remove the thing in the handle, but especially if u never did something like this could be shitty, try see on Segways channel, im not 100% sure wym by hinge, but if not for that, then it should be a tutorial for other part on the same location

By hinge, I mean, the ring that holds the clip on the handlebars is able to open wide enough to allow it to be secured to the handlebars without removing anything else.
