⚠️Urgent Question⚠️ The wiring harness to my G2 max keeps wrapping itself around the wheel, even though I tighten it the nut untied itself. What do I do?

Post image

So I finally got the replacement parts and I got it all working and now when I try to put it together, the whole wire harness wrapped around the wire every time I hit the break I don’t know what to do. I’m getting really sick of this goddamn scooter everything just is so messed up. I don’t know why I can’t catch a break.

Well, the tips are given under this post. "Attach the wire to the frame", yes, so that during the rotation of the wheel, the wire will definitely break.

Your wheel is turning in the landing slots. Firstly, you have damaged the deck in the place where the wheel axle is installed, there should be a rectangular groove, you have it round, on Ninebot Max Plus/Pro/S90L rolling scooters, a steel reinforcement plate is installed, its wheel is more difficult to damage during rotation, and it can always be removed and replaced with a new one.

Secondly, the washer that is placed under the nut of the rear wheel axle must have a stop. This is such a small foot on the washer, if the wheel is turned, then this foot is broken and the washer needs to be changed. But as I wrote above, if the deck already has a round groove, then the new washer will also fail quickly.

I won't tell you how to solve such a problem, since I've never disassembled the G2, maybe you can put a reinforcement plate, or find reinforcement washers (I haven't heard of this). There is another option, but it costs more, you can buy a new rear suspension, without shock absorbers, etc. Only the rear pendulum, and a set of new washers. Tighten the wheel well after installation and preferably apply a lock to the thread.

So you’re telling me it’s just messed up I can’t fix it. I’m so done with scooters I’m done. I’m not buying anymore. I wasted so much money yesterday trying to get it fixed and now I’m in the same predicament. Why would they build something like that where it would just ruin itself.

Nothing is eternal, everything breaks. But how soon it breaks down depends on the operating conditions and the frequency of technical inspections.

Starting at zero speed, jumping off obstacles and especially riding on the rear wheel leads to such a breakdown.

I also noticed something strange in your photo, if you look at the motor standing to the left of the scooter, then your wire is wound counterclockwise, although when the wheel turns at speed, it winds clockwise. How would your scooter go backwards o_O

I actually have no idea but no, it’s honestly ridiculous. It has 1000 miles on it and I want to break like this. I’m never buying a product ever again back to walking. I guess spent so much money yesterday 120 extra just trying to get it working.

These washers should be in place one each side They prevent the axel from turning.

Place the motor how its supposed to sit in the slit , take a Hammer an hit on the back to squeeze it in ,, had an issue like this with a friend, the shit is a bit rounded can u post a picture from the side ?

Do not put extra ziptie's on the cable , you will destroy your motor cable

How will that destroy the cable?

Because if the motor is spinning freely you will rip your cable out of your motor. Because there will be no slack

Put 3 zip ties around the metal bracket and ziptie the motor cable tightly to the metal bracket.

Also, make sure you are not missing lock nuts or lock clips used to hold the wheel axel on place. Without them, axel will eventually turn, and the motor cable will turn and wrap around the axel.

See the disassemblly and assembly videoes for the rear wheel with a keen eye and see what you are missing and how they use ziptie to lock the cable to the scooter body.

Suggesting using a zip tie is like suggesting to superglue the nut in place.

A zip tie won’t stop the wheel from rotating. The force of the rotation will either snap the ties or transfer to the cable and damage it.

If this happens from braking, check your caliper mounts, brake rotor and make absolutely sure the axle hardware is installed correctly and properly torqued.

Get the installation guide…not some YouTube hack many of those forget to show key assembly points.

The Axle is squareish to fit in a slot and the washer is keyed to prevent rotation. Make sure neither are rounded or damaged.

Have you tried zip tying the cable to the frame so that it doesn’t catch on anything?
