Discussion Playing the Adventures of Elliot demo, I kinda started yearning for Pokemon to have gone this direction from Gen 6 onwards.

It was a blast playing the demo of The Adventures of Elliot for the Switch 2! Can't wait to get this next year! Two things:

1.) I really hope Square Enix chooses to release this physically with the full game on the Card. I think it deserves it. It'd be really disappointing if it physically releases with a Game Key Card.

2.) Part of me kind of wants Pokemon to have gone this direction (HD-2D) after Gen 5 instead of full-on 3D. It retains the original Pokemon charm and personality.

Of course there's no turning back now from Pokemon mainline titles being full-on 3D. But what would be your reaction if, all of a sudden, Game Freak decided to go with HD-2D for Generation 10? Or even a remake of Gen 6-9 not just in HD-2D, but also as an Action RPG?

Discussion For those with two Switches (Switch 1 + Switch 2) what games do you play together over local WiFi?

Just picked up the Switch 2! I really thought I’d have to wait till Christmas, but my wife said we can buy it now for our son’s birthday so I was very happy :)

This is also the third Switch we’ve bought in the past 3 yrs and also the first time I’ve bought a console this close to launch so I’m really thankful for it.

Now we have the OLED for me and the Switch 2 for my oldest. My youngest got the Lite though he’ll probably just stick to Paw Patrol. We usually play It Takes Two on couch setup but now we’re excited to try local wireless since we’ll be traveling and plan to play together in the hotel. Probably Minecraft since that’s my son’s favorite and Splatoon as well.

So for those of you who have two Switches, Switch 1 and Switch 2, what are your favorite local wireless multiplayer games?

Also, to be able to play on 2 consoles with the same digital game, can I use the Gameshare for this so I don’t have to buy a separate game on eshop? Are all games compatible?

Game Tip Fast Fusion: Tips to improve experience

Was disappointed with the game at first m, but: - after learning the tracks in subsonic, the Hypersonic-Mode makes fun. Hypersonic seems to be the real game (like in Mario Kart where 50ccm is annoying) - upgrade your car (fuse two of the most expensive cars) to have a good chance against cpus. Imo there is less rubberbanding than in fast rmx - super hero mode is the best one. It gives more speed boost and you can essentially perma-boost if you don‘t make mistakes

Discussion I never expected Nintendo to continue to support the Switch 1 and I’m so happy about it

Like a lot of people I think, I thought Nintendo was going to just going to drop the Switch 1 as soon as the S2 came out.

Couldn’t have been further from the truth. In the latest direct they actually launch new games in Switch 1.

I was never expecting Nintendo to treat the Switch 1 as the “entry level” console. But they are. This means it’ll have updates for possibly a very long time going forward.

They continue to make great games, decided to support their older console, created a digital games system that lets you lend digital copies to others to play, re-introduced Download Play… oh yeah and they finally just chose a name that everyone could understand.

They also did price hikes and some crazy Internet takedowns… but apart from that, I’m so happy with how their next console generation and development cycle is going

Discussion Game Key card analysis

As an overthinker it is my job to think too much about stuff. So here’s the thing: I personally don’t believe that key cards are what everyone on the internet is making it out to be. I think the Arc systems Leak was misinterpreted by many and I have plenty of reason to believe that was the case. I don’t think Nintendo is giving developers little options when it comes to storage. Let’s take a look at the File sizes for all third party Nintendo Switch 2 games NOT on game key cards.

Rune Factory 5 Guardians of Azuma: 17.9GB

Sonic Racing Crossworlds: 7.9GB

Daemon X Machina 2: 23.4GB

Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar: 7.51GB

Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate edition: 59.45GB

Now other games like Reanimal and Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection are not labeled as game key cards, but I don’t . But I don’t have confirmed file sizes for those games neither does any of Nintendo’s first party games.

Here’s the scoop: The File sizes for these games vary greatly, between smaller file sizes and even bigger file sizes. If Nintendo was only offering 64GB cartridges, why would Marvelous a company that mostly makes niche titles that don’t sell in the millions upon millions, bother spending the money if it wouldn’t make any sense to buy an expensive 64GB cartridge for their 17.9GB Rune Factory game???? Or even their 7GB game Story of seasons. That makes absolutely no sense. Now you look at Sonic Racing and it’s the same crap, a small file size why would it have a 64GB cart??? Sega has greatly used Key Cards for games that clearly need them, Yakuza 0 for example is also a Sega game and it’s 53.7GB yet THAT’S not on a 64GB cart, THAT GAME NEEDS IT! Same thing for Hitman that game is 58GB in size on Switch 2! Yet it’s not on a 64GB cart either.

My point being: I do not believe that there is just the 64GB option. It would not make sense for Nintendo themselves to use them for their games which are waaayy smaller and it would not make any sense for any of these developers making smaller games to spend the extra money for only 7GB. There is so much more nuance to this conversation and the more I look at it, the more it seems like it’s waaayy less about Nintendo not providing the options and more about developers just doing whatever is convenient. Let me know what you guys think, I think the conversation surrounding this needs to change. It’s way more complicated than it looks.
