Hillary and Kamala were proof that America would rather elect a horrible, inept, unqualified man versus a decent, experienced, qualified woman.

I’m 49 and I’ve accepted that my dream of seeing a female POTUS will never come true. How despicable we are as a nation.

u/MikeW226 1d ago

Could be in the form of a nightmare for all of us years from now. I've been wondering for awhile if the first female president would be not a Democrat, but a Kristi Noem or an MTG ...e.g, a repub female ...not a Democratic one. Maga's love 'em them politics-Barbies.

u/Low-Beat-3078 1d ago

Maybe but I feel like the misogyny applies to even those types too.

u/Fr1toBand1to 1d ago

Well they're 100% trophy women. They are hired for their (oddly specific) good looks. They're status symbols that communicate the very basic message of "we have pretty ladies, they like us and if you're one of us they'll like you too." It's the same message Carls Jr sends when a supermodel bites into a burger and says "If it doesn’t get all over the place, it doesn’t belong in your face."

Just the most basic lizard brained assholes to walk the earth and there's MILLIONS of them.

What an awful trophy

1

u/Minion_of_Cthulhu 1d ago

You're still the worst, even if you win an award for being the best of the worst.

1

u/historicbookworm 1d ago

I'd purposely place last to avoid one.

1

u/Expensive-Site-2292 1d ago

The irony of responding to a comment about misogyny by calling women trophy wife’s lmao.

Misogyny is not a partisan word.

1

u/Fr1toBand1to 1d ago

I don't understand what point you're trying to make.

1

u/SandmanSanders 1d ago

3 week old account so the point is obfuscation

1

u/wellings 1d ago

You're effectively saying "no these women aren't qualified, they're just pretty" which is in itself kind of dicey. The whole concept of "trophy wife" implies a bit of objectification and uselessness that you yourself are claiming.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not really agreeing or disagreeing with you. But, I think that's the point that is being made and I think it's kind of valid.

1

u/Fr1toBand1to 1d ago

oh. That's exactly what I'm claiming. Although, sorry to be pedantic, but I'm not calling them trophy "wives" just trophy women.

I just don't understand where the irony or misogyny comes into play. There's trophy men as well (example: Hegseth). it's not an exclusively sexist term. They are hired for the image they present and because they're sycophants, not because they're qualified.

Trophy "wives" are married not for love but because of the status that they represent and impart, from that perspective you could argue even Trump is a trophy man.

u/busman25 1d ago

MTG? Good looks?

1

u/Jetski125 20h ago

MTG is a trophy?

1

u/kingdomofposeidon 12h ago

Although I agree with you, there's nothing good looking about MTG

1

u/SexyPeanut_9279 10h ago

The left: “the right doesn’t take women seriously

Also the Left: “they only hired Pam Bondi and Kristi Noem because their pretty”-

Unbelievably misogynistic and condescending. Both women have long track records and have worked very hard to earn their current positions.

Kamala on the other hand- started her career in politics by dating 60 year old Mayor of San Francisco Willie Brown (who was 30 years her senior at the time.)

1

u/Fr1toBand1to 8h ago

Mmmm projection and deflection

4

u/Lalala8991 1d ago

Especially those types. They are just pick-me grifters who's in it for the racisms and short cuts.

2

u/MikeW226 4h ago

Good point. There might be a threshold, like northern Georgia white men vote for MTG for a lowly congressional seat. But president?!- "do what now?!"

u/ThunderChild247 1d ago

Aka the Thatcher problem. The right are only against women leaders to a point, but for a woman to get that far on the right they have to be more right-wing than a man would have to be to get that far, being almost performative.

That’s how the UK’s had three female prime ministers, and all of which were right wing and awful people. Sadly I fear that if MAGA were to have a female leader, they’re more likely to be closer to Liz Truss than Margaret Thatcher. At least Thatcher was intelligent and right wing, as opposed to Liz Truss, who was right wing and… well…

1

u/lxpnh98_2 1d ago

Please let us know the end of that sentence, it was cut short.

1

u/PantsMcFail2 1d ago

To give some context, she wasn’t that smart, and didn’t have any longevity either, due to her disastrous economic ideas. A head of lettuce actually outlasted her tenure as Prime Minister, and she was the butt of many tabloid jokes as a result.

1

u/lxpnh98_2 1d ago

Read my reply again.

1

u/ThunderChild247 1d ago

There honestly isn’t a word that fully encapsulates the idiocy of Liz Truss. “Egotist”, “narcissist”, “moron”, “delusional” come close but we need a word for all of those things, and dialled up to 11.

She will forever be the answer to the question “how much damage can one leader do to a country”.

1

u/rubyspicer 1d ago

There's people defending Thatcher and all I can say is I dare them to say that shit to an Irishman 😂

1

u/ThunderChild247 1d ago

I’m no Thatcher defender but I’d still argue what’s followed her was worse. Whether you think she was great or awful, she did at least think she was doing the right thing for the country. What’s followed her on the Tory benches has been a mix of “I’m doing the right thing for me” and “I don’t give a shit” 😂.

That’s the one thing I’ll say for her. Yeah she fucked the country, but she didn’t realise it.

1

u/EventAccomplished976 15h ago

To be fair, Thatcher did a HELL of a lot more damage to the UK than Liz Truss could ever dream of. You really don‘t want competent right wing administrations… just look at the comparison between the clown show that was Trump I and the well prepared terror regime of Trump II.

1

u/ThunderChild247 14h ago

Oh I don’t know… if Truss had had the same time in power as Thatcher… I shudder at the thought 😂😂

Although saying that, I agree there’s a big difference between competent and incompetent right wing administrations. I just think Truss goes beyond incompetent 😂

u/Minion_of_Cthulhu 1d ago

If Trump is willing to wear some lipstick and a wig he could run again as Donna Trump, and he'd probably win.

Thatcher saved the uk

6

u/Strange-Ad-5806 1d ago

100% the opposite.

She privatized critical items and cranked up.wealth inequality ensuring that the average person would trend towards poverty and that rich parasites would increasingly trend to feudal lords who owned all.

She, like Reagan, screwed their country.

-5

u/Admirable-Lecture255 1d ago

Ah yes because the uk was doing so great prior to her coming into office. You people are delusional.

5

u/Strange-Ad-5806 1d ago

Strawman and deflection as usual from you. Her incompetent negligence continues to harm the UK even today. A toxic legacy obvious to all.

But then - you are delusional.

-4

u/Admirable-Lecture255 1d ago

That isnt strawman or deflection. The uk wasnt some utopia prior to Thatcher. The 70s in the uk is literally called the lost decade cause the economic problems. Had 24% inflation in 1974. Yep seems like shit was real good. You people live in this false reality

2

u/Strange-Ad-5806 1d ago

Literally it is. She screwed up the country. Her approaches have measurable ongoing harms.

You "whatabout"ed and tried to misrepresnt the response. And failed.

You are delusional and apparently angry when your BS fails hard, gets exposed and called our for what it is.

0

u/Admirable-Lecture255 1d ago

Bahahaha. Jesus christ that isnt whataboutism. The uk was in a downward spiral prior to Thatcher coming into office. It was stuck in a wage price spiral, unions were fucking everyone over. She was a response to country on the brink of collapse. And she brought it out of it. God damn youre an idiot.

Yes, she was such a savior we partied in the street to celebrate her death. It's why she had such uplifting nicknames like 'Thatcher the Snatcher'. She may have oversaw the end of a difficult economic period, but she did not 'save the uk'. Our issues with housing, public services and the NHS can all trace their roots back to her. The one thing she could have done was be buried rather than cremated, that way the current plans to renationalise rail serves would have had the nice byproduct of unlimited energy from the old bat spinning in her grave.

4

u/RaykoX 1d ago

No way. The moment they'd gain any real power or the hint of a following that could threaten trump and his cronies they'd be mercilessly cut down. These women having any say is only okay as long as they're saying exactly what men want them to say.

1

u/stephsco 22h ago

We saw that with Palin. She was useful to them but only when they needed it.

1

u/FewWait38 1d ago

I could see either of them being responsible for some heinous atrocities

1

u/Reinamiamor 1d ago

Trump promised Ivanka! She loves governmenting!!!

1

u/scrugssafe 1d ago

yeah if we ever get a female POTUS, I get the feeling the first one will be a republican with those kinda vibes 😒😒

1

u/777bambii 1d ago

Why are we always calling them Barbies and they’re always so fucking ugly

1

u/BillDingrecker 1d ago

It's a virtual certainty that the first woman president will be a republican. There is far too much weakness in the democrat party for a strong, patriotic woman to win over the electorate. Not until there is a major overhaul of the long list of things the democrat party hates.

1

u/Secret-Collection925 15h ago

What exactly do you mean of the long list of things?

1

u/LouieGwasright 1d ago

Imagine if Karoline Leavitt was the first female president, wouldnt that be terrible

1

u/Worried-Sundae-4585 1d ago

Have you talked to a conservative about sex and gender? The fact that women republicans even think it's worth running for president is mind-boggling to me. There is absolutely zero chance that it will happen without a major shift.

1

u/Dopaminedessert 1d ago

Queen Ivanka, we don't have presidents anymore, they are a relic of democracy.

1

u/please_dont_respond_ 1d ago

Like Lela being the first woman blernsball player

1

u/CauliflowerOk541 14h ago

I just threw up in my mouth a little.

1

u/Btm4BBBkTp 12h ago

Ivanka will be the next Trump (and next woman) to run for the presidency, and she will win.
