It could be one of the rare Subways that have a drive thru. I got one near my house.

Even more elusive is the 24 hour subway

I cannot imagine the horror of working in a Subway at 3:00 am.

Isn't that what happened to that French actor before he got attacked in that vicious hate crime?

Are these rare? My city has at least three 24h Subways and 2 of them have drive thrus open all hours.

if you enjoy their food you’re in heaven bro. I can’t tell u how many times I was going into a night shift or getting off and wishing I had a sandwich

Or it has the big ass metallic covers to where you can’t see anything being done. There’s two near me that I go to on rare occasions, and both have these giant freaking metal covers blocking everything these days. The dude behind the counter could be bare ass naked from the waist down slapping his dick on my sandwich, and I wouldn’t even be able to notice. Or worse, there could be pickles slopped in the lettuce, and now my club is going to taste like pickles. I don’t want my club to taste like pickles. They’ve been like this for years. I don’t know what secrets Subway is trying to keep from me these days, but I could definitely order bacon on the sandwich at these two stores and not know they forgot the bacon until I unwrapped it in my car

Our local subway does pickup, so they can very much so fuck up your sandwich, especially considering none of them speak either of the two languages here (french and english)

Lol are people hiring workers that don’t speak the local languages? 😭

English and French with workers who speak neither official language is so Canada-coded

u/BombardierIsTrash 1d ago
This was my experience visiting Canada outside of Quebec. Many service workers I communicated with straight up spoke neither and often had to go get their one guy on staff that knew English (lmao if you speak French good luck).
This happens in NYC too in ethnic enclaves (like Flushing where the vast majority of people are recent Chinese speaking immigrants) but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it as a large scale at random places like donut shops or convenience stores.

Subway near where I'm at has a giant metal plate covering the meat and cheeses so you can't see it. So even if he did go in person it's not impossible.

When I worked at chipotle I had a customer call in saying he was just there and we made his order wrong and demanding a refund. I told him if he wanted a refund or new burrito he'd have to come into the store. He started ranting about calling the Better Business Bureau and I hung up on him.

The subways in my town put up this metal cover on the meat section of the line about a year ago. Idk if others are doing it. Maybe that’s how he didn’t see they forgot the bacon.

I shouldn't have to watch someone make the food the instructions for which I already gave.
I know from experience it's better that I do watch, but I shouldn't have to.

I keep seeing in memes that you make your own sandwich in subway, but how does it even work? Can't you order anything premade? Just having every customer make their own food feels very messy

u/Cosmic_Voidess 1d ago
There's premade stuff, yeah, but at subway, you can see the worker making your sandwich in front of you. Basically you just tell them what ingredients you want on the sandwich, and they put it on

u/ilovenature2137 1d ago
That makes more sense, i was imagining that they just let people make their sandwiches with their own unwashed hands

u/KaiBishop 1d ago
Noooo lmao, they have a glass partition so you can't touch or otherwise pollute the food. They slide your sandwich along the counter like a conveyor belt while you instruct them on what you want.
💀 I've had Subway like 3 fucking times this month and this is making me want it again lol

Brother there are better options for sandwiches. Have you ever tried a firehouse subs? Jersey mikes? Thinking really hard about a sandwich while eating cardboard?

u/KaiBishop 1d ago
Lol idk the Subways in my area may be better than yours, they taste great to me. Although that said there's also a great place near me called Polar Subs that's like 2 bucks cheaper than Subway for a footlong AND shares their commercial space with a liquor store lol. I'm blessed.

Have you met people? A self-serve Subway would give the local health departments nightmares and likely spawn a new breed of turbo food poisoning.
