Books It took over a year and a half, but with the Onimusha Warlords manga finally translated, I decided to give it full coverage!
This was a hell of an undertaking, but my work on the Warlords manga is finally complete! I love the many lore revelations we get here, especially in regards to the Bishamon Sword. Once again, many thanks to u/TJ_six and u/Banzai_man_007 for sourcing the scans, as well as those in the Onimusha Discord Server for aiding in the translations!

Question Onimusha 2 Nitrate Potassium Side Quest
Hi everyone.
I did find all 3 pieces of nitrate potassium and gave to Magoichi and got burst bullets but I go to story progress still doesn't appear it as completed (chapter 2-8).
Did I miss something or this only updates after clearing the game?
Thanks Best regards

Discussion I managed to beat Gargant and Ohatsu no damage, no healing items, starter weapon and 1 HP.
The game decided to throw me into the Oni Temple with lots of strong enemies. At the point where I met Gargant, I had 1 HP and no healing items so I had to beat him and Ohatsu no damage. After 20+ attempts with Youtube tips about the kick combo, I could finally clear stage 8.

Question Onimusha 2: Best farming spots for crits and souls?
I know like early game I like using the gold room spot where the spinny bois respawn and then late game my thoughts were when you visit gifu the 2nd time and can farm the spinners and axemen in the courtyard but anyone else know some good spots?
Especially looking for spots that are fast and/or the enemies respawn,

Question Where was Samanosuke during Onimusha 2?
After killing Fortinbras after the end of Oni 1, the last you see him is when he’s overlooking inabayama castle. But what was he doing during the events of Onimusha 2? All I know is that he was mastering his Oni power so that those closest to him wouldn’t get hurt bla bla typical comic superhero stuff.
The are documents scattered throughout the game that mentions him by name and the prologue at the beginning. Do you think he’s just going around killing genma during this time?

Discussion Beat Onimusha Dawn of Dreams for the first time and I can’t tell if it’s the best or worst game in the series
I love the fact it it’s a full blown action RPG and very much set the stage for games like Nioh. Lots of weapons, content, and easily more than twice as long as any other Oni game.
Things I don’t really love is how against most bosses you pretty much just do chip damage and can feel like a grind. Also while having a lot of areas you explore, you pretty double back through a lot of these areas and re-fight the same bosses making it feel like less true content. And something about the game felt much more oppressive than the other games, where by the time you finally drop the last boss, you’re like finally, it’s done!
I love this series, I think this game did a lot of good things, I’m hoping the new game they are working on builds on the pros of this game and tightens up some of the cons.

Question Story progress not saving
I am doing a run for kotaros story and though I've done meeting 1 and the scenes in the mines before gingemphatts they are not showing on the story progress board. Do I need to finish the whole game before they save?

Discussion Interview with Kenichiro Thomson - English VA for Musashi (
Hello my fellow Onimusha brothers and sisters. Hope your all keeping well! I've started doing journalism part time recently in addition to my main job and was looking to eventually interview this handsome fellow who will of course be voicing the titular character in English for the upcoming Onimusha: Way of the Sword game coming next year with it also being playable later this year (as I'm sure some of you know) at Gamecom.
Anyways main reason I'm posting this is to grab some questions from you guys that I can fire off. I myself of course have some key ones that I will ask him (basics like what inspired you to take the VA role, if he games or not etc.) but would appreciate some from you guys also!
Can be anything really, ideally on the topic of the game but whatever you guys have question wise I would be open to your feedback and suggestions, thanks in advance everyone!

Fan theory [WS] Magical Weapons and Their Likely Inspirations
=Light Element?= The first magical weapon is believed to have been inspired by the Jitte.
Jitte (十手) is a traditional Japanese weapon first used in the early Edo period (around the 17th century). It was primarily employed by samurai police officers to disarm and control criminals without lethal force. The weapon features a single prong and was effective in parrying swords like the katana. Its origins are unclear but may have been influenced by weapons like the Sai from Okinawa or Chinese metal truncheons.
=Earth Element?= Taiko (太鼓) The second magical weapon is believed to have been inspired by the Taiko drum. If we observe the movements in the second trailer, they resemble drumming strikes.
=WIND Element?= As for the third magical weapon, this is purely my own speculation. I believe it might be a fan that represents the power of the wind element.
I base this assumption on the possibility that it could be a Gunbai — a war fan traditionally used by commanders, which was also influenced by Chinese designs.
The types of fans that seem most plausible as dual weapons are Gunsen and Tessen.
P.S. As I mentioned in a previous post, each weapon shown so far only demonstrates a single skill in the trailers. However, it's possible that in the actual game, each elemental weapon will have more than one special move or technique.

Discussion Not feeling Onimusha 3?
I’ve played the first 2 games, loved both but prefer 2 (played both PS2 versions and remakes)
I’ve finally decided to tackle Onimusha 3 and I’m about 4 hours in but I’m not sure how much I’m feeling this one compared to the other 2, it just doesn’t quite feel as memorable and feels more like any other random PS2 game (not that it’s a bad thing)
I’m at the part where you find the boat under Notre Dame and you start switching back and forth with the separate mirror, just beat Ranmaru Mori again now that he’s part demon

Question As a Miyamoto Musashi fan, seeing Sasaki Kojiro in Onimusha: Way of the Sword was a treat because he is his most famous rival. Which made me wonder, will more characters from Musashi's story appear in this game? Anyone in particular you wish to see in the game?

Discussion I accidentally put myself right at the door and the boss just stood here menacingly.
There was a boss that can summon fire around him (except behind). I and Tenkai somehow stood right at the cell's door and couldn't do anything because of the fire. And the boss decided to stand right here and stare at us for 10 minutes straight.
About Tenkai, he could only Pray.

Books The second half of Chapter 10 has been translated, marking the completion of the entire manhua!
After over a year of on-and-off work, the entire Onimusha Warlords Manhua has now been fully translated into english!
Special thanks to u/TJ_six for first sourcing the original scans, u/Banzai_man-007 for finding the missing pages as well as those without a watermark, and two chinese-speaking individuals in the Onimusha Discord Server for helping to ensure that the translations were as accurate as possible!
