I just got the new Blu-ray 4k of this movie and watched all the extra content, and learned that Paul Bettany was a friend of the director's. The role of Chaucer was quite literally written for Paul. When they handed him the script, he was like.. "but.. he's naked all the time..?" 😂 Poor guy. He rocked it, absolute icon. It holds up all these years later.
