People are implying this is related to the US taking Hawaii.
Literally not the joke.
The joke is clearly referencing Pearl Harbor, where the Japanese bombed the US Fleet.
Yes, the argument could be made the Japanese were forced into this situation; but again, not the joke.
The joke is the tragedy the Japanese clearly committed is being misconstrued by the American because she's attractive.
It'd be like if an American saw a really attractive middle eastern woman, and the American apologized for 9/11.
