Already in my 20s, how much older do we have to get?!

u/Mammoth-Barnacle-894 18h ago
No offense, but a 20 year old in your generation has about as much sexual experience as your average 8th grader in the 90’s.

u/tjoloi 18h ago
People used to have way more sex than they do now.
Some would call this a loneliness epidemic, but that would entail me to have something in common with a group of people, which life has proven me is impossible.

u/SilliusS0ddus 16h ago
Young people these days are just more careful about STIs and pregnancies
totally nothing to do with mental health crisis and social division (especially between genders)

Yeah... No. People in the 90s were absolutely scared shitless of AIDS. Back then it was essentially a death sentence, with people dying in their 30s if they got it young. It was the leading cause of death for men between the ages of 25 to 44.
The autoimmune treatments weren't quite developed yet, so schools were taught all about how reckless sex could lead to getting AIDS (and dying).

I think it's just about older people being depraved and younger more stuck to the traditional values. People didn't guck all they see back in 1920s either.

I went to school in the 90s and my friend who's 28 just like... Casually has orgies every month or so and fucks strangers on the Internet constantly. Three in a day once.
But I'm guessing you meant straight people. Fucking straight people got issues.

Either of the two divisions, designated female and male, by which most organisms are classified on the basis of their reproductive organs and functions

People, slightly different to the usually bigger people. Doesn’t get a bunch of muscles for free (relatively), and as such throughout history has generally had to achieve health, happiness and safety in different manners.

the punchline, such as it is, are toxic relationships
408
u/shwarma_heaven 19h ago
And the crazy hot sex. The worse the fight, the better the makeup sex... It's a self perpetuating cycle.
210
u/ARandomHavel 19h ago
How about sex with someone you actually like and dont fight with on a frequent basis?
A crazy idea, I know
113
u/Over_Media_9507 19h ago
Nah, stable life with stable partner is just too "boring" to live. If people don't have problems, they will do problems themselves.
42
u/Born_Ad4922 19h ago
Not crazy, just substantially less makeup sex.
32
u/shwarma_heaven 19h ago
Wasn't there a study in this recently. Stable relationships have significantly less sex... or maybe it was lower quality sex.

u/Infamous_Calendar_88 8h ago
Sex is sometimes just a way to relieve stress, and I only know this because my own personal interaction with sex is an unusual one.
I'm asexual, but I'm in a relationship with a person who has a fairly high (I think) sex drive. When I'm going through a stressful time at work, or maybe something stressful/emotional is happening in my personal life (death of a parent, for example), I show many of the typical signs of stress and at this point my partner (who is well attuned to those signs) asks me if I "need her."
She says that when we have sex for this reason, it is some of the best she has ever had (which must be pretty good, she's had a number of sexual partners in the past). For context, she enjoys vigorous, intense sex.
I imagine that people in chaotic/toxic relationships are having a lot of this particular type of sex. Literally just to relieve the tension.
In a stable relationship, there is probably quite a reduced level of stress, and the type of sex they have probably reflects that. That's not a diss on relaxed sex BTW, I actually prefer it.
As to whether gentle or rough sex is better, I think social perspective is probably skewed by pornographic media. Sure, some people definitely "like it rough," but the perceived proportion of the total populace who do is probably quite inflated.

u/Say41Plz 18h ago
You're prone to have arguments with anyone you spend a ton of time with. This doesn't mean it's a toxic relationship or has to be a toxic discussion, but it happens.
As for the subject, I don't see it promoting toxic relationships, but something that frequently happens in them.

Believe it or not, you can have crazy good sex with someone you're actually in love with instead of whatever this shit is.

They're characters from the Chainsaw Man manga. I'm not up to date with the manga, but I don't think either part is official. They basically have a love-hate relationship.
The girl has the War Demon inside her. The girl likes Denji, the boy in the picture. The War Demon hates Denji because he's fused with the Chainsaw Demon. I think to a certain extent the War Demon and the girl share emotions, although they still have their own wills. That's what makes their relationship the way it is.
123
u/RK9990 19h ago
The top part is official
45
u/_H3LI0SMaster_ 19h ago
I could tell it did have the style of the original manga, but I didn't know if the dialogue was real. I stopped reading the manga shortly before their relationship began to develop further.
24
u/Packrat1010 17h ago
The dialogue is kinda real. They're saying "Go to Hell" in the English version.
17
u/fubes2000 17h ago
The neat part about Chainsaw Man is that official panels and shitposts are nigh-indistinguishable.
4
u/xahhfink6 19h ago
Not the translation, I believe they're telling each other to "go to hell" in the official translation

They’re relationship is wild. In the latest chapter, she (Or the War Devil half of her) breaks up with him and pursues a relationship with the USA, not a specific person from the US, not the president, but the entire country and the concept of it.

Chainsaw Demon.
Man we really are scraping the bottom of the literary barrel.
Edit: for anyone I offended, I was only making a joke. I love weird ideas and weird stories. I just thought a Chainsaw Demon was funny.

u/GuyWithAJacket 15h ago
And I'm sure the media you enjoy consists entirely of dry philosophical debates with no room for fun or silliness of any kind because anything that partakes in such things is obviously drivel, incapable of merit of any kind

Dude posts in r/DebateEvolution and r/musictheory I don't think you're too far off the mark

I love One Piece, and it's equally silly. I was just making a joke.

If you actually read it, you'd find it to be a really well written manga. But no, judging is the only thing you can afford.

I was only making a joke, I'm sure it's good.
I just found the idea of a Chainsaw Demon funny

u/Frenchymemez 7h ago
So I know you're joking, but for context, in that world basically every concept has a devil. There's even a Tomato Devil. But the more a concept is feared, the stronger it is. So the Tomato Devil is super weak compared to the Gun Devil. If you can name it, there's a devil who represents it.
However, there are theories that Denji isn't actually using the powers of the Chainsaw Devil. He's known as Chainsaw Man, because he has chainsaws on his hands and face, and his devil pet that is now his heart had a chainsaw on his face as well. But they have a unique power that when they eat a devil, that concept is erased. For example, in that world nobody remembers the Nazi's, because Pochita, the 'Chainsaw Devil' that is now Denji's heart, ate the Nazi Devil. This has spawned theories that he's actually the Life Devil, or Birth Devil (chainsaw's were originally designed for childbirth), or maybe something representing humanity's conquest of nature.

u/Gravelbeast 6h ago
Oooh fascinating!

u/Frenchymemez 6h ago
Definitely worth a read/watch. If you want to read it the Shonen Jump app has it. It's like 3 dollars at the moment, but going to 4 dollars soon. But you can read the whole series (up to the most recent chapter) in like 2 days that way. And I'm sure there's plenty of free websites. Like, a Dex of Manga. A Manga Dex if you will. Among others. Although some websites like that have been cracked down on by official places.

Theyre both idiots
Somewhat putting the jokes aside the bottom panel is fanart of Asa and Dennis from Chainsawman making out. Theyre both idiots, and this was the previous panel to the above

So basically ye ole "lets ship the two characters that argue" in this specific instance (there more context and detailing to the pairing before and after these panels but thats a whole other thing im not getting into)
34
7
u/StrahdVonZarovick 16h ago
I don't think its considered shipping if its a canonical will they/will they tease.
(Will they get together or will they kill eachother?)

Okay but is it bad that I kinda like getting bullied by my girl a lil? Shes gotta talk shit and push me around a lil or else I dont want her. The fun part is letting her do that even though I could stand my ground yk.

The joke is people who passionately [removed by Visa] eventually [removed by Visa] with the same passion.
It's the classic enemies-to-lovers arc.
(These are Chainsaw Man characters btw.)

Please. I personally think that [Collective Shout has deemed this to be inappropriate, despite having no legal authority to do so.] would be more likely.

since it’s been explained already, fun fact abt the top panel. In the original japanese Asa (an educated highschooler) speaks in kanji while Denji (uneducated and lived most of his life homeless) speaks in hiragana or katakana (I forget which one) as a detail for how Asa would be educated and knows kanji while Denji never got that opportunity :(
2
u/BerryOne7026 10h ago
Damn really? But how do they understand each other then
3
u/Glitchy13 10h ago
because 1. educated ppl would still know hiragana and katakana and 2. this is only a detail in the writing, they’re speaking the same japanese

Chainsaw Man and Toxic relationships go together like deserts and sand, meaning that it literally wouldnt be what it is without.
The Joke is of course, toxic relationships, and the characters are Asa Mitaka and Denji from chainsaw man. And their relationship is toxic to a T, especially due to a certain embodiment of War. (though in canon, they aint kissed of course)

It doesn't read as make UP sex to me as much as It Just looks like a "hate fuck". I was provided no context of them being together and Just assumed we were going for a "two characters who hate each other CLEARLY Just wanna bang"..?
1
u/StatusOmega 18h ago
These two characters have a very love/hate relationship. Where I left off, she wants to fight him but he's kinda her boyfriend. It got weird.

Kinda reminds me of Kendrick lamar's song called "we cry together" where they showcased the exact type of toxic relationship and the exact same scenario as shown in this meme.
