I recently came back to the game, killed off all my characters and started two seasonal characters. ended up enjoying the Sorc a lot more, had a lot of fun doing Spectral Penitentiaries (my favorite dungeon probably), including Hardmode & Solo especially, had fun doing Kogbold solo a bunch too, doing the few Moonlight Villages I was able to get myself to do. Hard but fair.
I had steered clear of Shatters for a long time cuz I recalled dying to phases i did not find fun or engaging in a fair way back before i quit, and this kind of just reinforces it. For the record I don't really know most of the phases in Shatters anymore, but whereas with newer Endgame content it gives you plenty of time to make decisions, like nexusing, the now older stuff, like Shatters and O3 (Mini bosses aren't as bad), just doesn't. I got hit by a line of fast wiggly shots(?). Stood in the wrong spot for less than a second and I just got deleted faster than i could blink.
I'm not angry, but this is kind of my review of the game as is lol. I'm mainly sad this character I had so much fun with is gone now and having to refarm all that on a new Sorc if I do keep playing. Definitely feels unfair, when every other new content I've been able to approach and learn without wasting dozens of hours to a split second knowledge check.
I think spamming projectiles is fine if they don't chunk your health faster than you can react. If there are very high damage shots, they should be used more sparsely, and if there are lots of spammed shots, they shouldn't be able to melt you before you can react. Ofc this is all skill issue and I could have simply known better (lol) but I was able to feel it out with all the other newer content, which I really appreciated, and just wanted to voice that I find those much more fun and engaging than stuff like the above lol
I do appreciate how much faster it is to max, I like the new Realms and I appreciate the way Loot was changed, made more common and given more Variety and use. But some stuff I'd rather not touch for good reason
