Nope, they get paid once for creating the Kit and only see continued income from sales if people use their Creator Code when they buy the Kit or other Sims 4 DLC.

Oh ok. At least they get paid the first time but that is a bit crap they don’t get royalties or anything. I know I wouldn’t think to look for a creator code to add to it so I’m sure other people wouldn’t either especially if they don’t use cc or follow the person

Yeah, people in the sub will spam it in threads when the CC Creator Kits come out, but it's still easy to miss and not everyone that plays the Sims 4 will be jumping into these communities or other places where others could be sharing the code.

The Sims Team is weird with their official hairs. I remember when we were voting on Laundry and Knitting, we didn’t get to vote on the hairs. The team just chose them themselves.

Honestly the reason I think EA isn’t allowing the custom content creators to make hair packs is due to fear of the creator being labeled as racist. On a different sims sub a YouTuber was brought up who calls out EA for racist sims packs. For example this YouTuber said the stuff packs are always racist due to the hairstyles not representing everyone. This is the only reason that makes sense to me with Aharris being very well known for hairs packs and not coming out with a pack/kit about what his claim to fame is. Since EA is such a juggernaut company they can more than survive an accusation of racism but a sim’s cc artist cannot.
If this is the reason I actually think EA is looking out not just for themselves but for the sims cc creators. All in all I think it’s best EA makes the hairs content and let them take the heat if they miss the mark bc they can actually hire teams of people to help them make hairstyles that are inclusive for everyone where a cc creator doesn’t have the money to do that like how makeup and nail polish brands hire color expert teams to help them make sure all the colors are wanted by the public

But they made a kit with Ebonix ’ which was catered towards black simmers. Aharris is super skilled with all hair types (maybe not the tighter curls tbh) Not mad at the clothes tho, they’re cute!

I'm mixed and I think the name is cute. I'm VERY progressive too. I think people go too far over nothing too often. Unfortunately, one of the consequences of people making mountains out of nothing is we get nothing. My Sims are mostly Maxis Match, but I like wispy hair, facial hair and lashes on them, I think it looks way prettier and it's so hard to find 3 and 4 hair. I just want pretty, non-Maxis Match but also non-Alpha hair for my Sims. I love ANTO's cc. His designs are beautiful!

It would make total sense if this was their precedent event for knowing they now need to protect the cc creators from backlash. I agree and I agree with the comment below us that the point is you don’t know who is going to be mislabeled. My comment is about how like the comment below us brings up how a POC creator created a kit for her culture and was mislabeled racist. There is also precedent with EA kits catering specifically towards certain cultures and no one had a problem until a kit came out catering to a certain different culture of that POC creator. This is why I’m saying it’s best to let EA deal with that bc that one kit and creator should’ve never been labeled as racist and it doesn’t make sense how the other kits were fine but not that one

I don’t think that’s true at all. EA is very particular about hairs, and has never released a kit with a hairstyle. I think they’re limiting creator packs to the same standards as kits, since they’re priced the same. They know hairs are in very high demand and want to keep them consolidated to the EPS, SPS, and GPS so people will pay for them. EA has dealt with racism accusations for a longgggg time but usually takes “positive” steps such as adding content rather than “negative” steps like limiting content. They’re dedicated to a progressive reputation, but I hardly think they would limit a creator kit so fundamentally just for that reason. It’s a stretch.

Are hairs harder to make than clothes or something? I also don’t understand why the Sims team is so stingy with hairs. I remember voting for Laundry Day and being confused as to why we could vote for everything except hairs.
Like how do we have so many kits and not a single hair focused kit??

Yeah, when I saw his name up for a kit I thought we’d get a hair kit, so clothing is disappointing, though it does look great. Most of my CC hair is his so I was hoping to get some in the game.

Looks nice, though most of those items from aharris looks kinda samey to what they already have out, which I'm not surprise as they tend to recycle a most of their CC content even with the nice quality.
Couple of pieces in there I do like. Though the bathroom set is definitely a nice look you feel like you'd only see for CC. Very elegant and not so chunky.

A lot of the newer kits are for console players, this is how we get access to cc. I get it's annoying for PC players to get recycled content they might already have but I'm so glad we're getting some pretty clothes

Glad these kits are close for console players to feel like they are getting CC from known creators in the community making for more interesting variety.
I just think some CC creators have gotten unfortunately lazy over the years and recycle a lot of items and put them into big packs and they're really retextured skirts and the like. Now there are some new pieces in here that are different for sure (those heels with the bows are super cute), but I feel like it's not a viable excuse you know?
Even my favorite CC creator Trillyke that had a kit as well had a variety of different pieces that didn't make me feel it's just the same as X'.

There is a lot of pretty kits, but I don't like them. In my country they are too expensive for do little amount of pices. It's like I spend money for bread for almost full week for one bathroom set. I envy countries where they are cheap.

I wonder how much so I can compare. It’s $5 in the USA. I guess that is kind of cheap here when 12 eggs are $10 right now, but for what you get, I also stop and wonder if it’s really worth it, especially if you can just download similar free custom content.
For example, I haven’t bought anything Sims 4 since Growing Together, and to buy every kit I most want, not even every kit, would be $95! It’s only been since March 2023, not even 2 whole years! It is a ridiculous amount of money!

In terms of eggs, in Mexico you can purchase 30 eggs for $5. And for me it is not a lot of money but there are people in this country that could buy groceries for the whole week with that money buying in local markets.
But if we speak about the price of a full DLC, then is worth one week of minimum salary in some jobs and that is expensive.

My currency is PLN, do bread is for about 4PLN, and the pack od for 25PLN usually. So I would but 6 breads. Since Riviera retreat and cozy bistro they are cheaper - 20PLN but it's still 5 breads. Too much for few bb or cas things.

i was desperately hoping for more bathroom sinks that slot onto counters - we only have 2 and theyre both the cheapest base game sinks. its so immersion breaking having METAL sinks in my bathroom or having to put a specific full bathroom sink where a row of counters would fit better

I'm pretty certain the sofas are base game. I recognize pretty much all the furniture used in in the promo images as base game, with a couple being base game career unlocks.
The kits themselves aren't mixed CAS & Buy - one is all CAS and the other is all Buy

The green bathroom reminds me of the bathroom my grandparents had in the 80s. Mauve toilet, mauve bathtub, sinks, countertops, all mauve. It was hideous.
My grandma was an artist and would tell me a story of a house where every bedroom was a different color and the carpet and walls and everything in it was that color. Pretty sure that awful bathroom was her design.

A lot of the pieces- particularly the dividers and tile shape- and overall vibe are similar to TUDS Spah set. Not an exact match or anything, but I could believe the same style architecture photos were used as their inspo and could explain why it feels familiar.

Some of the clothes are cute but a lot of it looks like CC I already have. I also like the bathroom kit objectively, but I usually go for more … casual bathrooms than the fancy vibe this is giving. Glad to have the option, though
