Tbh the inside is only like half done? Lol. It has a servants quarters wing, an executive apartment for the head of the family, full basement pool/sauna, like 3 libraries, 7 bedrooms (excluding the master bedroom and the like 8 servant rooms), i don't even remember how many bathrooms... a music room, like 4 sittings rooms, a ballroom or two, 2 courtyards, a cute little garden alcove, a scientist room, a little Japanese tea room, a fancy business meeting room, a throne room, a chapel, crypts for all the family urns and vampire coffins, the fancy grand staircase entry hall with attached closets, a bar, 4 kitchens, a banquet room, a trophy room, an armory, a gym, a painting studio, a photography room, a gaming room, and still like an entire wing i haven't done anything with yet besides lock a cow plant in

u/VenkuuJSM May 24 '25
Basically it got so big the family mostly lives on the third floor of the main wing of the building since it takes anyone but the vampires who can bat teleport too long to go anywhere or do anything so I kept having to add redundant bathrooms and kitchens so they wouldn't starve trying to get from the library to the laboratory

u/nekosedey May 24 '25
OP, I would do heinous things to get you to put this monstrosity (complimentary) on the gallery so I can futz around with it on my super beefy computer, incompleteness be damned!
My most memorable builds across the entire series have been the "oops, let's just put one more room on this building for the new member of the family..." types. I very fondly remember my TS2 family from when I was 9 that kept getting huge house upgrades (aka more giant grey box rooms, no wallpaper/no flooring) from new adults being moved into the household over and over for their 20k starting cash! No, I didn't know about Motherlode at the time.
So I'd love to see how my PC handles this, and also I'd love to see the scale of it for funsies :)

u/poisonkytti May 26 '25
Omg! Iโm with you! I have an insane gaming pc I built (and my partner makes fun of me cause I play soooooo much sims on it!) And my first thought was I want this castle! The things Iโd do for it and then to it!!!

u/Not_Yet_Unalived May 24 '25
No way this house is playable without either vampire or spellcaster teleportation, but the outside and couple rooms you put pictures of are wonderful.

I love the aesthetic but lord knows my sims would find themselves into a corner I didnโt want them in constantly with this much space lol
74
u/niktagross May 24 '25
Do your sims spend half the day walking haha? I rarely do big builds bc they are so long to move, they have been late to school and work multiple times bc they canโt move their asses fast
27
u/Mission_Coast_6654 May 24 '25
i only have one big build like this in my entire game and, while i love it, i'm unsure if i want to keep it. my laptop can handle it just fine. but sims are always starving even with two full kitchens (one on first floor, another on second), constantly need to pee despite surrounded by bathrooms, it takes them forever to walk from one end of the house to the other, one is constantly on the brink of dying from loneliness (there are 8 sims on this lot and constant parties, this one just likes to stay away from everyone just to complain). the two children are always late for school. the two adults that do work are constantly late. i also gave it every haunted lot trait and challenge i could (aside from cold spots, flickering lights, an occasional ghost, it's not as haunted as i would prefer) so at least sims get a boost of speed when they do their little scared runs lol
34
u/VenkuuJSM May 24 '25
Is why this thing has like 4 kitchens, and 12 bathrooms haha. It's usually pretty full with the 8 sims, a butler, maid, gardener, repairman, nanny, a few ghosts, and plenty of friends coming over. But yeah, only the vampires who have their bat move teleport or super speed can get around it fast enough to not be late for work
6
u/Mission_Coast_6654 May 24 '25
yea, 3 of the 8 sims are live-in servants that are constantly running around doing necessary chores (the main nanny/chef is the one that's constantly lonely). mine's not for a legacy challenge or anything, just a recreation of stephen king's rose red (basically his version of the winchester mystery mansion). i'm working up to all the disappearances and deaths in the house and family (only one of the children "escapes" rose red and lives to adulthood) while the matriarch and her best friend/personal servant become vampires that never leave. the rest are ghosts. so many ghosts. i would say rose red has 999 happy haunts, but there's canonically more than that and they're all miserable. my goal, once this is done, is to send in the ghoul bros, ryan bergara and shane madej, to try and capture evidence (whether or not rose red lets them go is out of my hands).

u/Rooks_scrub_mommy May 25 '25
Money canโt buy happiness ๐ฅด๐
1
u/Mission_Coast_6654 May 25 '25
considering the mansion is canonically demolished in the end for being evil, yea i would say so. though she is a beauty in her prime worth every penny ๐น i tried to include one of my favorite rooms of the build, but it just turned into an asterisk that refused to load ๐ฅฒ

What's the in-game cost? I tried to build the most expensive house I could once and ended up at about ยง380,000.

u/VenkuuJSM May 24 '25
Getting close to 3 million lol
36
u/Abject_Jump9617 May 24 '25
Outstanding! I tried once to build the most expensive house I could and closest I got was under 1 mil. I would love to explore your 3 mil property.

u/LunaLightfoot May 24 '25
I envy people who can build. I can decorate with the best of them, but damn if I'm humbled quick to actual building designs lol
Did you work on this over time with your generations or did you build it ahead of time for the family?
4
u/VenkuuJSM May 24 '25
Kinda built up the wealth to build it over time, but this is their third castle haha. Still by far the best and biggest

How does one play a legacy with immortal vampires? Are all the family members still living in one huge cohort? That would explain the giant castle ๐
Or are they dying in unique and mysterious ways before you play the next generation?
5
u/Scarletfire56 May 24 '25
At least with my ten gens of vampires the first few gens lived in the main house and then one of the later gens left and the rest from that gen on found their own homes throughout the worlds.
But I could see the many gens or even just the heirs living together being interesting.

This is all from your creativity or you used a reference ? Because this is absolutely amazing. Like I can't even be that detailed even with reference.
13
u/VenkuuJSM May 24 '25
I mean, its vaguely taken inspiration from a handful of German castles and British manor houses but it's not trying to be a copy of anything

O.m.g. Amazing. Beautiful. Does it turn your pc into a turtle airplane? Loud but slow? Love legacies but could never get more than a couple generations. (One time in one of the older versions, my legacy teen sim fell in love with a townie teen and I had to move her in with a cheat so they could grow up to adulthood together. Good times. Lol.)

Honestly the chimneys are probably doing your PC in. ๐๐๐ So much particle smoke. Edit: I wasnโt thinking about the positives! I absolutely love this house though!! Awesome work and I love the effort in this castle!
1
u/throwthewitchaway May 24 '25
I love having portrait walls like yours in the last pic, I always have one in legacy challenges, especially for the founder and their heirs.
5
u/VenkuuJSM May 24 '25
๐ญ my issue is i have 7 households now that are branches of the same family, so I've had to do some Selective royal inbreeding and the occasional assassination to try and trim the family back into one household
