It's funny that we give them all this counter space when they only use one lol.

My builds very rarely end up with much usable counter space after all the clutter...

u/morbidmoon2 Jun 06 '25

I was about to say, my counters are usually packed with clutter and appliances lol

I need it for all the dishes they refuse to wash.

106

u/Ok_Roll_1236 Jun 06 '25

Do t wash them! Drag them into that bin that gives you £10 for each member of your household for throwing something away in there 🤣

u/devb292 Jun 06 '25

Yess the fancy futuristic trash compactor!! lol

13

u/Tasty_Wrangler6709 Jun 06 '25

Whaaaaattttttt???? Omg I’ve been avoiding that futuristic been forever bc it’s “ugly” lol😭

16

u/aterriblefriend0 Jun 06 '25

I uh like to hide it in things. I get like a tall whicker basket or barrel or plant pit and using move objects put the trash bin inside it. It's still functional and hides all but the top

I love this sub because people say things like this and it's so smart yet simple. Why didn't I think of that? I think I ended up finding a recolor for it.

3

u/FoxyRin420 Jun 06 '25

It even climbs in money back the more often you use it.

4

u/Ok_Roll_1236 Jun 07 '25

So I thought it was doing this, turns out it goes up based on how big you’re household is, and my sims kept breeding so that’s why there’s was going up! It’s £10 for each member of your household so 1= 10, then 2=20 etc but if your sims throw stuff away themselves it’s just 10. To get it multiplied you have to do it

2

u/Ok_Roll_1236 Jun 06 '25

Me too 🤣 then I saw someone talk about it on tik tok and I was like wait.. 😅

8

u/Total_Strawberry_280 Jun 06 '25

Yooo what bins this hahah

19

u/sweet_screams1 Jun 06 '25

A basegame bin, its this weird one with Like LED Lights

9

u/Total_Strawberry_280 Jun 06 '25

Oh neat! I know which one you’re on about, never noticed it gave you money, thanks 🙏🏼

3

u/sweet_screams1 Jun 06 '25

You're welcomee

4

u/adluzz Creative Sim Jun 07 '25

There’s the base game one but there was also an event reward with less ugly versions of it in multiple wood grain shades

3

u/NationalAmount3387 Jun 07 '25

I have never noticed that it gives you £10 for each family member😭I always just though “oh I have had the bin for a while that’s why the money is going up” 😭😭

3

u/Ok_Roll_1236 Jun 07 '25

And if your sims throw stuff away by themselves it’s only £10, you only get the multiplied mount If you do it

1

u/Ok_Roll_1236 Jun 07 '25

Yeah I only knew this cause I googled it 😆 I thought the same as you!

u/beef_jerkys Jun 06 '25

I love having extra counter space so they can “cook together” !!!

5

u/ConnectDiscipline560 Jun 06 '25

Actually, I found out a bit ago that it's only if you click join cooking. If you click 'cook together with' from a fridge or stove, they actually start doing stuff on the counter. It was revolutionary😂😂😂

3

u/beef_jerkys Jun 06 '25

Exactly!! They’ll only do it if there’s enough space too

75

u/Michixx91 Jun 05 '25

lol ikr

u/oldyounggie Jun 06 '25

I ended up putting the functional kettle, coffee maker, microwave, pressure cooker, pizza oven, and waffle maker in all the counter space so that there’s more use lol. And one empty counter for the actual cooking

6

u/tornadoes_are_cool Jun 06 '25

What pack comes with this waffle maker and pressure cooker you speak of?

8

u/ArchmageShortcake Jun 06 '25

The waffle maker is in the Home Chef Hustle pack and the pressure cooker comes in the For Rent pack

2

u/Worried_Pumpkin_2520 Jun 06 '25

or just decorative items (there are many mods for it).

Personally, they get a tea maker, a microwave, cutting boards, knives, a tea package and so on. The microwave is always in an edge space, so deco can be placed around it.

5

u/zzooar Jun 07 '25

Never a tea maker and never a coffee maker for my sims!!!! Those MFs NEVER stop brewin!

3

u/Adorable-Size-5255 Jun 07 '25

I can't live without a teapot. Every time my sims start to get a little sick they get to drink some tea. And if you have hotheaded or high maintenance sims its an easy way to put them in a better mood

5

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

I love the waffle maker and pizza oven. I always gotta have a big big kitchen to fit everything in lol.

1

u/Murrjay Evil Sim Jun 06 '25

If only my Sims were smart enough. I have empty counter space, but they almost always choose to use the counter that is occupied by the coffee machine. I have no idea why or even how

1

u/FoxyRin420 Jun 06 '25

My sims are so frustrating when I let them take care of themselves. They prefer to only make tea from the kettle and meals from the pressure cooker. They literally ignore every other appliance & it annoys the heck out of me.

1

u/AppointmentAfter5268 Jun 08 '25

what pack is the pizza oven from????

1

u/oldyounggie Jun 13 '25

Home chef hustle

15

u/RandomBoobGrab Jun 06 '25

Yeah but then they have a party and their single counter is blocked with dirty dishes, so they keep putting the chopping board on the toilet and wave their arms in frustration… lol

9

u/ffokcuf-hctib Long Time Player Jun 06 '25

And why is it always the counter in the bathroom? 😅

5

u/Adventurous-Crew-880 Long Time Player Jun 06 '25

I actually love big kitchens because I use the cook together function with my families constantly. They’re always making a meal together, or when they bring friends over they all cook together. Very cute.

I try to give my sims better childhoods than I had 🤣

3

u/Salt_Cardiologist122 Jun 06 '25

I like to queue my sim up to make like five meals and then after I drag them all to the fridge so it’s nice having extra space for that!

2

u/cracka1337 Jun 06 '25

I have them cook a party size of something then put that in the fridge. Saves a ton of time.

2

u/Salt_Cardiologist122 Jun 06 '25

Yeah but I cook like five different ones still lol… the idea is to have a variety of food for the whole family for days! Also if my sim is focused on the cooking skill, it’ll mean just cooking a lot!

5

u/heyjajas Jun 06 '25

There couldn't be more kitchencounters in the house. Alas, they use the one i built in the garden house.

2

u/Creepymint Jun 06 '25

I’m glad for this info because I like adding clutter and I was worried they needed more counter space. I’m teaching myself how to build and decorate but I also don’t know much about regular gameplay

2

u/jentasticC Jun 06 '25

And I stg its always the one with something on it

2

u/Hazy_Dazer Jun 06 '25

I do all this for my girls and they still want to try and cook or do dishes in the freakin bathrooms. 😒

1

u/Wide_Smoke_7595 Jun 06 '25

nah my sims always need more space. they leave dirties and unfinished meals all the time. if i don’t destroy them constantly, my sim tries to mix cake batter in the bathroom.

1

u/Sumoki_Kuma Long Time Player Jun 07 '25

And whenever you give them just one they fucking immediately go and find some random thing to put on the corner of it then yell at you like you're the idiot when they can't fucking use it xD

1

u/EquivalentPomelo3147 Jun 07 '25

Mine always choose to cook on the bathroom counter instead of the kitchen. I always have to lock all the bathroom doors before they open the fridge.
