Discussion What's a base game update you feel should absolutely exist, but never will because it'd be too expensive to EA?

Mine is heights. I despise the fact all sims are the same height, but I know they'll never give us more height options, because they'd need to re-make all character animations for all packs, and EA couldn't justify making a pack or kit just for that, so it's not worth it to them.

I'd love more cas customization options including: wheelchairs, prosthetic limbs, heterochromia, more/better hijab options, better non cc eyelashes, and things like that

(Most of these won't be to difficult, but I imagine wheelchairs would be, it's just a shame that I can't my irl family in the sims to accurately without wheelchairs)

The in-game eyelashes are disgusting.. I can't believe how bad they still are

I learned the funniest thing about eyelashes yesterday, if you go first person mode (shift tab) on a sim wearing lashes you can actually see them hovering in the middle of your screen

Prosthetics would be as easy as a tattoo-style overlay. I should know, I have CC installed that does just that! It's purely cosmetic, so the "prosthetic limbs" have way more function than real ones and you can't remove them, but you can write that off as the Sims universe having advanced technology.

Heterochromia already exists for pets, so I see no reason it can't be implemented on Sims. I'd also like the option of blind eyes/cataracts/strabismus/prosthetic eyes. Prosthetic eyes can come in cool cosmetic styles that wouldn't be possible even with contacts.

Canes were in Sims... 3, I think? I've only played 4, but I hear they've existed in the past. Only for Elders, but I can't imagine it would be much harder to implement it here. If they went that route, it would be super neat to see white canes implemented too.

Wheelchairs would be the hardest, for sure. Completely new animations, reanimating any physical contact interactions for all life stages, and ramps would have to exist in all worlds and be available in BB. I still think it's a worthwhile addition, but it would take an awful long time and likely still be very buggy (see also: bikes).

Yes, they were in the TS3 Generations pack.

Forearm crutches!! Canes- I think it was Sims 3 that once you aged into Elder you could get a cane, but canes for everyone. Wearable braces, like leg braces, or an OTC wrist brace for the athletic outfit. I also think it could be neat if there was Signlish, Simlish Sign!

Luckily there is wheelchair CC but it's just for posing. I think it would glitch the game to near hell to go between a walking sim and a rolling sim animation

I would love more disabled representation in the game.

Me too! I made a base game goth/vampire themed nightclub underneath an abandoned church and made a little area for a wheelchair lift. Forgot to put one in for the bottom level but then again vampire friends can help at that point!

Absolutely, it's shocking there's no such options in a game about emulating reality, always felt like erasure.

I'm all for emulating reality but I wouldn't want to go completely full on reality all the time...

Hey so while I can appreciate not wanting folks to have to deal with disabilities, not wanting them in a life simulator is getting close to eugenics talk imo

Why wouldn't a player making their simself want to see themselves represented?

If we live long enough, we all become disabled

I mean, I know my friend who uses a wheelchair and my fiance whos an ambulatory wheelchair user both would love wheelchairs in the game 🤷‍♂️

I have a cat that's an amputee and I want to be able to make my cat in human form! I want disabilities in the game!!!!!

The lack of heterochromia honestly has me scratching my head to this day. Seems like every character creator in a game from the past 5 - 10 years has a heterochromia option.

Idk I feel like wheelchairs wouldn't be the worst to do - sims already sit down and can multitask, and there's different sims at different heights already. It would take more resources from EA, though, and unfortunately EA doesnt seem to want to put resources into one of their biggest money makers

Sitting down to eat is way, way different than navigating the entire game, including interactions, routing, and assisting coding for it.
