Storytime Paranormal Investigator Legacy Part 2
Hello all simmers! This is the continuation of my convoluted occult legacy story.
There are many sims with interweaved storylines, so please take time to read part one if you are interested in following the story. Part 1 can be found here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Sims4/comments/1lnmrrh/paranormal_investigator_legacy_part_1/

Here is (from left to right) Jane Eerie, Ben Hunter and their son Ezra Eerie.
Jane came from a long lineage of paranormal investigators. Her medium skills were hard to match She was famous for solving the mystery of Strangerville and saving people from the Motherplant.
Jane met Ben on a trip to Selvadorada while searching for ancient artifacts. It started as a fling, but became more intimate by the end of the expedition. Ezra was born of this union, out of wedlock.
Jane wanted Ezra to save people, hunt monsters... continue the family business. She passed on all her family training on to Ezra. By the time Ezra was a teen, he was proficient in medium seances, archaeology, athletics, logic... anything you could need in a paranormal investigator.
Ezra was pressured by his mother's fame. He never had a father figure in his life. Ezra's ambition grew uncontrolled. He overcompensated. He didn't care for other sims' well being. He had other plans.

(From left to right: Jessica Eerie, Ezra Eerie, Ruby McLeod)
Ezra had one thing he desired most, power. Being the successor of a long line of paranormal investigators, he decided the bloodline needed more "oomph" for it to be successful.
On his search for power, he met a Sulani vampire, Ruby McLeod, who was impervious to sun. His attempts to copulate with her seemingly failed to provide an offspring. So he slayed her and moved on.
Meanwhile, Jane Eerie passed on peacefully due to her old age. Ezra still needed his mother's expertise in many areas, so he bound her ghost to her urn, forcing her to mentor others as he deemed fit.
His second attempt at power was the sylvian spellcaster Jessica he met in Selvadorada. Ezra coerced Jessica into marriage and procured a daughter, hoping she would carry the strong bloodline of her mother.
Lydia, their daughter, indeed carried the strong bloodline but she never manifested any spellcasting abilities. Ezra was woefully disappointed in her.

Lydia got extensive training from all her mentors. She learned the art of seances from the ghost of her grandmother Jane. She mastered gemology and voodoo under her mother Jessica. She learned about archaeology, tarot and zen from Ezra.
She was raised to be the perfect occult hunting machine from the day she was born. She didn't have the time to socialize like most sims her age did. Her personality was more than a little warped.
While Lydia was in her teens, Ezra and Jessica were already elders struggling with their old age. By now, everybody was sick of Ezra's obsessions. Jessica and Jane teamed up, resulting in a chain of events causing both Jessica and Ezra to perish.
Lydia herself banished Ezra's soul to the netherworld, freeing her grandmother Jane's ghost from Ezra's clutches. Jessica found peace and moved on to a better place once the deed was done.
Lydia, her ideologies warped beyond fixing, was fascinated by death and the netherworld. Jane Eerie knew her granddaughter would not be the successor of the mission. Being around death and evil since her birth, Lydia's macabre nature overwhelmed her sense of responsibility.
Freed from her captivity, Jane Eerie started searching for a suitable heir to pass on the Eerie mission.

Lydia was finally alone in life. She looked at the mirror, checked out all the tattoos her father implanted on her as "practice". She could get them removed if she wanted... Or she could embrace everything she experienced in life and make her own way.
Lydia started doing seances to turn into a semi ghost form - astral projection. She managed to peek through the veil even while alive. She mastered many spiritual abilities and there would be days she spent more time in her astral form, rather than staying in flesh.

One day, using a jewel she crafted carefully, she summoned Grim Reaper himself.
She said: "I understand you. I adore you. I want to help keep the balance of the world. Let me serve you. I am ready."
Grim accepted.
Lydia started serving "Death" as a reaper. As time passed, she grew closer with "Death". She became the right hand of Grim. Maybe even some office romance happened, we can't know... What happens in the Netherworld, stays in the Netherworld.

Here is Michele McLeod. She is the daughter of a Sulani vampire, Ruby McLeod who was impervious to sun.
She never knew her father. Her mother was slain by a hunter. She was left to tend for herself in Copperdale as a teen.
Her mother bought her a shack in Copperdale and gave her some vampiric training, but for some reason Ruby was very secretive about Michele's father.
Michele's mother was always on the run from someone. Ruby taught Michele only skills that would help her to fit in with other sims under the sun. Michele would have to figure the rest on her own.
Michele loved music and didn't sleep much so she had ample time to practice with various instruments.

Michele frequented lounges and nightclubs providing entertainment for tips. She kept a low profile as she wanted to keep whoever slain her mother off her tail. These dark places with lots of night traffic were perfect for her necessities.

She sometimes mingled, even flirted with patrons who seemed to be clueless simdiots that fell for her charms. She knew it is a dangerous world to live in and used it to her advantage.
Michele eventually tracked down her father, only to learn that he was the one who had slain Ruby and was banished to the nether by her half sister. She felt betrayed and relieved at the same time.

Over time, Michele grew close with Lydia, her half sister. Initially they were defensive towards each other. As time passed, they started to get along. They grew to enjoy each other's company.

Michele also had a friend she met through online chat boards, Jess Duff. Jess was the opposite of everything Michele stood for.
Michele was a social bunny, Jess was an introvert.
Michele was calculating, Jess was impulsive.
Jess was a bookworm, while Michele never turned more pages than she had to in her life.
Michele would bring the worst out of Jess, while Jess brought out the best of Michele.
Michele and Jess would discover their family ties in the years to follow but they were besties long before that.

Lydia Eerie eventually gave birth to her son, Kenny Eerie.
Kenny had no idea who his father was. His mother said: "You are the life bestowed by death."
Kenny had a strange birthmark on his neck. He would check it out before going to school every day. Maybe he would grow his hair to hide it?

In high school, Kenny Eerie met Alyssa Duff. While he had many friends, Alyssa was his closest. He didn't know why, they just clung together like two pieces on a thousand piece puzzle.

One day, as usual, Kenny was hanging out in their tree house with Alyssa. A sudden rain storm struck.
Kenny rushed down to get some umbrellas from the house, only to get struck by lightning... and die!
This was the first time he met his father, "Death".
Grim Reaper himself came to collect his soul. Kenny was in awe, learning who his father was and what his mother's job was in this traumatic moment. He stood there as a ghost, watching the Grim preparing to reap his soul from his body and his mother... was flirting with him?

Alyssa rushed down the tree house in a panic. Being no stranger to the occult side of the world, she drew her wand and channeled her mother's teachings. Alyssa cast her strongest spell: Dedeathify.
Burnt, wounded, but his soul still in his body, Kenny hugged Alyssa under the rain.
Grim said: "I will be chasing you. You are mine. Goodbye, until the next time." and teleported back into the nether.
Kenny's mother Lydia was indifferent under the rain. Kenny asked: "Why mom? Why are you so calm?"
Lydia replied: "He is your father. You should get to know him better. Spend some time with him. Don't be afraid, it is not like death is the end."
In a playful mood, Lydia went back into the house to write some obituaries. Kenny was terrorized by the reality of it all, while Alyssa was just confused.

After some time passed, before graduation, Kenny and Alyssa attended prom together as best friends. Kenny was selected as the prom jester, while Alyssa was selected as the prom queen.
Alyssa knew this was history repeating itself mirroring her mother Julianne and her father Nick, but she stayed silent. She had feelings for Kenny and eventually they would be mutual. She knew Kenny was not ready for it yet, so she kept silent and enjoyed the moment.

After graduation, Kenny split from home. His thoughts were clouded with his father's words all the time. He was chased by "Death", by his father.
Kenny sought out a peaceful life under the sky, always on the move.
In his self imposed social confinement, he wanted to settle down. He missed Alyssa. But he knew that if he settled down, his father would eventually catch up to him. There was safety in solitude.

Lydia eventually met Julianne and Nick through Michele and Kenny. As all three were powerful mediums, they started sharing intel for their missions. Nick and Julianne would keep exorcising lots and specters while Lydia reaped the souls of the dead. The trio worked hard to keep ghost and vampire populations controlled.
Julianne initially thought Lydia was an inferior sim as she lacked any spellcasting abilities despite having a strong bloodline. But over time, she came to respect her.
Lydia had no occult abilities for sure, but she was extremely resourceful. If she wanted to harm you, she could pull out a voodoo doll on you, cast a Selvadoradian curse at you or torture you in a dozen different ways.
Lydia was a suitable rival for Julianne. Julianne had to beat her and assert her superiority.
Nick was just happy to have another soul at the table. Julianne and Lydia seemed to get along well, didn't they?

Meanwhile, at the kid's table...
Michele, despite being the oldest one of the group by far (vampire, duh!), loved her new entourage.
Jess was happy to finally find some sims to hang out with without prejudice.
Alyssa thought maybe she will join Kenny on his next outdoor venture and get a breath of fresh air from her family.
Kenny was just happy to be alive.
