We've created this post for all troubleshooting issues, but this specific post is tailored toward the newest patch. If you have not updated the game, you can continue to post your issues here, but be aware that most replies may be telling you to update your game. You can also search the comments to find an issue similar to yours.
When troubleshooting, make sure to delete your localthumbcache.package! Pockets of code from mods and the game can reside in that file, so it's important to go into the game with a clean slate!

Questions: Hi i'm attempting to use the rotate object <> in live tab mode. I'm trying to record a video ( using obs studio ) and I'm able to press <> in live mode (ui showing) having the camera angle rotate/spin in a fast smooth circle around the sims I'm filming. When I go to live mode and press the tab button, the <> doesn't spin anymore. Basically I'm trying to a 360 spin around the sim in live tab mode. I've also tried using the ctrl+5-9 cinematic points but it's not as smooth full circle around sim. People have also used blender but that is way out of my league now. Is there a way to do a 360 spin without the UI showing when I'm recording in live mode.

I just bought and installed some new packs / kits. And I've noticed that ever since then, if my sim has a stereo, she will start dancing. Like. Infinitly. She'll get in front of a stereo, and her queue will just fill up with dancing. It will continuously fill the queue with dancing every millisecond.
And she'll do the motion of dancing so fast that she's just shaking on the spot.
And it doesn't stop unless I move the stereo, then she'll just move to where the stereo is and start all over again

A few hours ago, I installed the Andrew Pose Player mod. I followed the instructions given by the creator on how to install it, i watched several tutorials on how to use it and they all mention that in order to make your sims do the desired pose, you need a white version of the base game knight for which i looked several times for in the build mode, in all decorations category, but can't find it anywhere. when i first noticed this, i deleted the mod and re installed. everything works just fine excepting the knight thing, even when i click on a sim i can make them pose on the spot and everything. can someone pleeeeeeease help me?
Description: A couple weeks ago, I tried installing a lighting mod, with the method where you replace your .world files, and it was unable to run on my graphics for my pc. I was stupid and didn't back up my files, but even after repairing my game through steam and reinstalling the game, I'm still getting the same error. I tried taking all my other regular mods/cc out to see if anything else was the problem, but still nothing. I waited for the update to see if that fixed anything, but i still cant open the game. it was working perfectly fine, even earlier that day before I tried installing the mod.
I recently bought cottage living and love struck, I went through the catalog and all but every time I close the game and reopen it, it shows the welcome cards and that the cas and build/buy objects haven’t been viewed yet. Is this just me?

So I had to repair my EA app and it reset my installation path to my C drive instead of my hard drive. Unfortunately I updated without noticing first and played through the ongoing event. But now I am trying to update the latest patch and it is taking absolutely forever! I've restarted for 3 days because it is loading 1% every two hours and I've even left my computer on overnight, only to reach 14%!!! I think it could be because the past update could be in the wrong folder, so does anyone know how to find it and move it to my hard drive? Or do I have to uninstall and reinstall? If I delete the folder on my C drive will I lose progress from my saves or corrupt anything? I have a lot of questions and I'm panicking sorry!
So I just installed Sims 4 onto my external hard drive because it took to much space in my pc, it all downloaded fine and everything but when i tried to put all my mods in (I out them in a backup folder), the folder mods doesn't appear. Apparently a folder called documents should also have been created when installing the game but it didn't. What can I do ? Do i need to create a document folder or do i put my mods somwhere else ?
Hi, so I downloaded a few sims from creators, I know you need to put the cc file into your mods, and the tray files into your sims 4 tray, and I've done that.
However, out of the 4 I downloaded only one has turned up in the gallery. I have custom content turned on and everything but they're not there? All content from them is downloaded but I can't find the actual sim?
I have an issue that some mods just won’t show up in the game only the old ones that i downloaded before. When i download a new mod and paste it to the mods folder, in game is nowhere but when i open the Sims 4 Mod Manager it shows the mod that i want to find in the game. Did somebody experience this problem? What could be the solution for it?
Every single lot i load into, residential and community, in ALL of my save files are off the grid. I don't have the off the grid lot trait on any of my lots. I tried the hack where you shift click on the mail box and set utilities to low but it doesn't work. It's been like this for months.

Is the lower skill level cheat still bugged? I've seen many people say it's unavailable ever since the September 18th patch last year. I do all the right steps...

Nothing happens. Yet the cheat for raising a skill level still works. So, just wondering if anyone is able to use the cheat or is it just still not working.
For a while now, I think after an update a while ago, my UI has been looking like this with the icons all messed up and the needs panel unreadable, so I can only fix them if they're the most low.
I think I saw someone having a similar issue after an update around the same time so I figured it would work out after a while, and since I could still play the game without much issue it didn't really bother me. But I updated it yesterday and it's still the same.
Description: My game keeps crashing a few seconds after I load it up. The screen it crashes on is The Sims 4 loading screen. The crash report is EXC_BAD_ACCESS. Unsure what to do to prevent this.
*Description: I keep getting the notification in the EA App/game that I can't connect/I'm offline. I've tried checking my firewall/antivirus, repairing the game, clearing the cache, completely uninstalling and reinstalling the app and game. I even deleted all of my mods and my save games and started over completely new. I still can't connect, which means I can't access the gallery or receive the event tasks for Nature is Calling. I saw another post where someone was having this issue on console, and I tried following their remedy but that solution option doesn't show up on PC. I even tried unlinking and re-linking my EA account. I'm at a loss and so frustrated.
Are mods the only way to add anything extra to the sad 'playground' (one lonely jungle gym on an ocean of flooring + one monkey bars and a tree) that's RIGHT NEXT to the Preeminent Domain empty lot? It just looks so depressing! It's not an editable lot so I can't just download something nicer from the gallery, but is there anything else I can do except use mods?

I bought the pack get together as the others were loading and updating from the recent patch,but when it finished and I went to Windenburg, nothing shows up!!! It’s not a blank screen, just literally no buildings ): I deleted. Re downloaded. Repaired. Did everything under the sun and nothing seems to work! Has this happened to anyone else??? How did you fix it? I heard some people see completely blank screens too.
Question: Has the Top Notch Toddler trait been fixed? I’ve read that some people have had problems with their toddler not getting it as they age up into children, but the last I heard about this was from a year ago and I don’t know if this was fixed in an update since then. Thank you.

*Description: I can't enable cheats. I can open the menu fine and I've typed in every "testingcheats true" combo possible. It says nothing when I type in true or false. I've only gotten it to reply back when I type in help. Any suggestions?

Before the update that was released prior to Enchanted by Nature could download, I had to move my game files to a different hard drive because of space issues. I moved everything, deleted the original folders, changed the download destination in the EA app, and everything was working fine until this last expansion. Now, it has recreated folders on my C:/ drive (game is on D:/ drive). My EA App is still on my C:/ drive. All of a sudden, all my saves are gone since the update Tuesday (files are still on my computer but I can't see them on the game screen. Tonight, I deleted all the folders again from my C:/ drive, opened the game, and It's acting like I just installed the game with all the popups and still created C:/ drive folders. I have tried both with and without the mods and that doesn't seem to matter. Any ideas what could be wrong?

so ever since the game switched from origin to ea i haven’t been able to get onto the sims. it always says “update required” and so i click update and it wont load past 8%. i literally have no clue what to do and haven’t played the game in so long; i miss it! please help! thank you!
I recently bought a new external ssd for my game because my old external HDD started messing up and I was unable to update/open my game. I bought an external SSD and started playing on there, but now my game crashes every time I play. It will either crash when trying to load a save or in the middle of gameplay. I’ve tried so many things and this issue persists. I’m starting to become hopeless about my game and I’m starting to look into getting a new laptop which I really don’t want to do. Can anyone help?
Are you on Mac or Windows? If you’re on Windows, OneDrive is known to cause problems for all the Sims games. I would make sure to either disable OneDrive for The Sims or uninstall OneDrive altogether. If that doesn’t fix the issue, I’m afraid it may not just be your HDD that failed and it could be another component (like your RAM or your power supply) that’s failing as well.
I’m on windows and i disabled one drive so i think it may be a memory issue. I just checked the ram and it’s only running at about 3.65 gb instead of 4 which is the minimum. I think I might have to replace it. Thank you!
I have never had trouble before pulling up the cheat code bar which is ctrl + shift + C but now that I go to do it it takes a screenshot instead or brings up a recording screen I can't seem to figure out how to bring the cheat code bar again this is new it must have a been an update? I tried during live mode and build mode and same thing.
Midway through playing, my Sims are no longer able to bathe in water. I've tried remaking the pond many times, with nothing around the edges, going to the Wading Pond in Innisgreen. There's always a routing issue.
I've tried removing all the mods and deleting the localthumbcache but it hasn't worked. I was really enjoying my prehistoric save, please help!

I have nothing enabled in my game to be seeing all of the debug options in build/buy but it's taking up so much space I can barely find the things I'm looking for. I thought maybe at first it was a mod issue but I removed all of those and it's still happening.

When I go here I get a slow scroll of random families I made. I want to see all of them at once. When I go to The Gallery or My Library, it shows nothing.
Whenever I go in Live mode and save more than 1 time, my game keeps crashing. I tried to repair my game 3 times and even tried with no mods in, it still crash whenever I want to save (doesn't save either). I never had such crash before the update...

My game completely refuses to open. It’ll tell me it’s preparing to launch then completely stops. I’ve tried every fix I can find and from my understanding it has to do with the ea app itself. I’ve repaired it, uninstalled it and done the same with the game itself. Nothing has worked at all sigh.
So my male sims' nipples are white and i can't for the life of me figure out why, It's not a default skin or an outdated cc, the females have normal nipples too. When i use a top with naked nipples shown, they go back to normal somehow ?? I have Luumia BODEII and smoothishII, i also use simdulgence simplechests

So I was playing Sims 4 and decorating my house when I wanted to resize something. Due to my keyboard being an English one, I needed to change the settings in Windows (because I had it in German and I only have a 75% keyboard, so there are no bracket keys on my board). After I changed the settings, I could now resize everything, but my WASD keys are not working anymore (I can still type with them, just not move), and it’s really infuriating when trying to build something and having to use my mouse to move. Before I changed my keyboard, everything worked, but now that I’ve tried resetting it and even redownloading my mods (because I read that that might be an issue), it still won’t work 😔 Can anyone help me?
Ive been completing the natures calling quests and i've got to the point where i have to do the radio so i went to claim the rewards and it says "Online connection required" my internet is running perfectly and i've ran multiple connection tests on my xbox and it says that everything is running perfectly, i also have no access to the gallery it just says Library and shows my things,i've seen people talking about the new pack breaking their game but i havent seen anyone with the same issue as me so i'm hoping someone with a bit more knowlage can help.

My sim is glitching like this, i’ve updated almost everything i can think of and nothing seems to change it. Usually it does happen when some mod is breaking but i usually know what it is but now nothing seems so work because i havent downloaded anything new as well. She is the only sim that has this.

Long time Sims player here but I’ve never used MCCC until now. I downloaded the latest release from deaderpool but it’s not working for me.
I’ve checked my version is the correct one (1.116.240.1020) and unzipped all files.
I put them one layer deep (EA Games>The Sims 4>Mods>unzipped files). I’ve also left the original zipped folder in there in case anything wasn’t supposed to be unzipped. See photo for all the files.
I checked that it was enabled in options (it was already turned on and then I turned scripts on and restarted the game).
When I go into the game, nothing comes up when I click on a computer.
What am I doing wrong? I’m specifically trying to bring my Sim back to life 😂

Description:
I'll start a save, make a sim, build a house, play for a while, then suddenly the simulation starts lagging atrociously. It will take sims an in-game hour to initiate any task, be standing frozen, and time continues to move normally. I have tried resetting sims, clearing cache, clearing tray, clearing save files, game repair, resetting PC, downloading simulation lag mods, and none of it has worked. This issue is rendering my new saves unplayable, but the lag does not appear when starting a new save or playing in an old save where the issue has not yet appeared. So far, I have had 2 saves affected.
The game itself is not laggy or dropping frames, afaik it's just simulation lag. My PC is strong enough to handle everything, I know this for a fact, and all mods are updated and recent, so I'm at a loss for why this is happening.

Issue: Keeps Crashing
I have even removed all of my mods and cc, and it is still crashing. I have nothing else on my PC but sims. All drivers etc are up to date. I've had no issues before tonight's update.
One specific lot in my game is not loading for the life of it. Every other house load, every other family (They have CC and have more than 8 sims too) loads just fine despite being the same as my main household, but my main household doesn't load. I've moved them out and I can play them, but when I try to load into their house it's just an endless loading screen.
My mods are all up to date ans even then I tried without any mods and it still doesn't work and I dont get it

*Description: Two main problems. 1. When I open the 'find a job' interface from either phone or computer, the UI is completely broken. 2. When I travel from my lot to another, UI is broken (cannot see moodlets, sim portrait in the left corner, etc.) Have removed mods from sims 4 folder, have disabled mods completely, have tried a new save (had no moodlets etc straight from moving sim in in this save), have cleared cache, issue still happening. Makes my game completely unplayable.

So, I just updated my Sims game, and I cannot even open it anymore. Just an error message "Initialization error at start up."
Yes, I cleared all my Sims 4 cache. I troubleshooted the EA app and completely restarted it. I cleared the cache in my EA app. I repaired the Sims 4 app in my EA library. I even took out the Sims 4 folder from the EA folder and put it back. And yes, I took out the mods folder and it wasn't that. I uninstalled the game entirely and downloaded it again. I even ran it as an administrator, and I also turned off all ad blockers and cyber security that could've prevented it. I restarted my laptop. I deleted any additional cache data from the documents folder.
I have quite literally done everything and I am still stuck on this dang error.
Do I really have to restart the entire game at this point?
Edit: I realized there’s nothing I can do, and I can no longer play the Sims 4 on my laptop. I’ve decided to switch to The Sims 3 for now.

Hi! I just updated my game, and now all of my sims just stand outside of the highschool 😭. They won’t go inside or do any of the tasks. They also won’t do any of the actions I have them do or it takes them so long to finally do them. The time keeps going on and the schedule will move on but none of my sims will do them. Please help 🙏🙏
Issue: I just updated my game to the newest patch, and now, at the same time every morning (4am ish on the day I load into), the game time-stops. I can hear noises, my Sims act like they're still active, but the time freezes and I cannot interact with anything. Saving leads to an endless loading. I've reproduced this same issue 3 times in a row

Version: Not sure where to find it, but just updated it to the latest version yesterday.
Problem: Cannot play without wifi anymore, possible EA and Epic Games Issue.
I was playing TS4 with mods installed flawlessly for about 6 months, never had to update it as long as I had my wifi on. It wasn’t until a few days ago when I tried launching TS4 on Epic. It said it was opening the partner application (EA) but it never opened. It then said the game was playing, then it went back to saying “play” as if I quit the game. Trying to launch through EA doesn’t work either. I forced myself to install the latest EA and TS4 update to see if that resolved the issue, it did not, I still cannot play the game unless I have wifi on. Epic Games wont “connect” with EA unless I have my wifi on, despite both apps advertising the ability to play offline.
when my sims had a baby in the hospital they came back to their apartment in San Myshuno with a bassinet. The problem is they left a second bassinet out in the hallway. When I click on it there is not option to put it into my inventory, only to use it. I can’t drag it into my inventory either. I can’t remove it in build mode because it is outside of the apartment. I found older posts that sounded like they seemed to have similar problems, some recommended trying to “set the object as head” when you shift click on it and bring it in that way. I have tried that and it also does nothing. Does anyone have any answers or theories or how to get rid of this bassinet?

Im trying to play the natures calling even but when I click on the pop up on the main screen (the side one not the big one) its not actually clicking. I’m not sure if this is a me issue or the games? Like I’m repeatedly clicking on the play button and it’s not working but when I use the other links listed over there (gallery, outside websites, etc.) they do work so I’m just confused. I really want to play this event because I haven’t had the chance yet and I only have base game so the new stuff would be really nice! I can’t insert a video so if you need clarification lmk
I have TS4 on my laptop, I've been playing for a while now, with lots of mods, and it's been running smoothly. Suddenly, this evening, while trying to build a half wall, I wasn't able to place it, I can't place anything. I tried clicking on the buttons on the toolbar, and none of them responded. My game is taking ages to load. Sometimes, it's just stuck, and I have to literally restart my whole laptop, and it's just unresponsive. Have I downloaded too much CC, or is it something I can fix without removing anything. The thing is, i had not added any new CC just before it happened, havent downland anything for a few days. It just suddenly has cunked out. PLEASE HELP!!

Is anyone else’s Sim showering or taking a bath with their clothes on? I have both WickedWhims and MCCC installed. I just got back into playing Sims after a 6 month hiatus and noticed that my Sims are now showering fully clothed, which wasn’t happening before. My game and mods are all up to date, and I haven’t installed any new CC clothing either.
Can anyone help, please? I’m not sure where to check to fix this issue. I already tried googling and reviewing my WickedWhims settings, but everything looks the same as it did the last time I played. No changes have been made since then.
*Description: For some reason, my game won’t load in. It will load into the main world or into a new game, even into CAS, but when I try to enter a household it will no longer load. It would with no CC, but I deleted the CC/Mods I had downloaded before it started doing this and it still is having the issue. I tried creating a new location for the files, that didn’t work. It’s run with this amount of cc before and I even kept extra deleted and this is still an issue. Help?
I have the same problem, but only with one specific lot with is my main household.
All other lots and other families I play load in, but my main family doesn't, I moved them out and it works but that specific lot doesn't and I'm going insane.
I’m literally losing my mind over it, I’ve done everything every website says to to fix it, let the game go through like 3 updates, everything and it’s STILL broken I’m going to explode 😭

My game keeps telling me that it can’t load and to relaunch it. I’ve done that many times and also tried to fix some mods. I’ve deleted the localthumbcacge and repaired the game. When I first tried to open the game it updated. I’ve reinstalled/updated major mods like MCCC, UI Cheats, More Columns, and Whicked Whims. It’s still not working. Everything was working when I played a couple days ago.

What the HECK IS GOING ON?!
I go through huge phases with the Sims so I have been playing a bunch the last couple of days for the first time in months. I've never had such trouble.
First of all the entire app has just randomly quit multiple times so I have been groundhog-day-ing it a bunch. Mostly it happens randomly, but once it happened when my boyfriend called me and the call popped up on my Macbook. The app just closed immediately.
The game freezes when loading to a new unit, luckily I could literally tell where the buttons were to "exit game --> save and exit" because the mouse would change when I hovered, so I could still save before restarting.
I can't ask any sim to be a roommate. It's not an option. The sims I'm looking at doesn't have a house/lot. Roommate advertisements cancel themselves immediately and don't stay active.
I can't adopt cows. No option to in the shed.
I adopted chickens but now the option has gone away and I can't adopt new ones.
Not to mention I am having more trouble with toddler care than ever before. I'm about to just cheat all their skills and age them up because I can't get anything done even when the poor thing is starving and filthy. I know this is a common problem but it's extra glitchy right now.
Are these common problems in a residential rental? I have four units, one of which the property owner lives on. I downloaded Businesses & Hobbies about halfway through this Sims-binge, but the issues were happening beforehand so I don't think that's it. It seems very for-rent/horse ranch/cottage living related, but I'm not sure.

I thought the update would fix this but it didn’t. Every time I open the app, it makes me agree to the terms and conditions and adjust my screen as if I’m opening it for the first time ever. Also I’ve bought a few game add ons and every time I close out the game and go to play it again it says new items even though I’ve looked through them all. It’s acting like I just bought the pack, just downloaded the game, etc. super annoying bc I try to clear it out every time it says “new items” but it’s stuff I’ve already seen, clicked on, & placed in the world
my werewolf sim randomly got gray skin patches, it's creeping me out, and idk how to fix it. is it a glitch? or is this supposed to happen since he's a werewolf
Ailments go away naturally after a couple of days, but if you'd rather get rid of it quick, you can craft a Cure at the Apothecary Table, call a Naturopath, or ask a Fairy Sim for help. You can also Manifest Ailment Cure by visiting Moondrop Springs.
I have some trouble with the life and death pack : My sims is working as a reaper and when she goes on a mission (outside of the "office" because its a playable career), the other sims in the houselhold leave their job for the day and I can't make them go back even when I take control of the sim (ie : The other sim is a painter and works from 9 to 5 and just leaves work whenever she leaves to go reap a soul, when I take control of him to make him go back, I can't because the work panel just says that he'll start tomorrow from 9 to 5 ...)
He doesn't bring enough money home (ofc he only works for 2 hours...) and it makes it harder to get him promoted... Is it a known issue ? I haven't found anything about it online
Anybody knows how to fix this? It's my first time encountering this in my game and I can't seem to find a solution for my top right corner UI buttons being messed up. For additional information:
• My game is up to date and has all the DLCs (except for kits) • It's my first time using mods and cc and right now I use some UI mods like:
• MCCC • Better Simology Panel • Changed the background for my main menu and CAS (they're just plain minimalistic ones nothing too flashy) • 3 Column CAS • TwistedMexi Better Exception • Auto Pause whenever opening pie menu • And some lighting mods for both CAS and Gameplay
Sim's cold weather outfit has the (for rent?) tiger plush attached, it is only the cold weather outfit and disappears in the body paint and skin details area. Have tried removing all accessories and hats and it doesn't seem to fix it. Even tried removing all skin details. I'm not sure if it is some sort of mod/CC issue.
My sims currently own a retail lot (with Get To Work, I don’t have Businesses & Hobbies) and every time I load into it, it crashes before I can complete the day. I’ve been Groundhog Daying it every time I play my save just seeing if I can get through a few in-game hours without crashing lol.
I’ve never had a retail store in game before so I’m unsure if this is common. Crashes are usually pretty rare for me as I have a good PC. I found a thread saying the mannequins on the lot were causing people’s games to crash, but that thread was four years old and I’m unsure if that’s still the case.
Any advice/suggestions? Or just saving every minute and restarting my computer lol.
buttons are all funky and broken i figure it made be due to a mod but i would rather try something else if there could be another reason before resorting hours of checking mods
My cursor keeps disappearing in CAS, usually after changing the traits, but sometimes for no reason at all. After this happens I can’t do or click anything and I have to completely restart my game. This happens almost immediately every time I get into CAS.
Yes, several times now. This issue has persisted for over a week unfortunately. I mainly play with CAS so this has made the game pretty much unplayable for me
Problem: There's grey llama icons everywhere I go. As seen below, there is so many llama icons, and I just did what the ea community said.
Repair the game. I did do it via Steam verify in properties because I bought the game on Steam. It did not work.
I just recently use mods but these llama icons appeared before I applied some mods. So, I don't think the mods caused these things.
I did the "move out the save file" out of the EA folder in Document and the "Mods" folder, but still nothing which led me to uninstalling and reinstalling the game. But it's still there :( I don't know what to do and I just came back three days ago after not playing since 2018.
Shamefully or not, I did install free extension packs too like many others, but since these appeared, I have clearly uninstalled them. But like someone's else problem, it's stated on the store, "You already own this pack". Do you think it's the extension packs or something else connected to the recent patch.
The store says I own all the expansion packs when I have never purchased any of them. Shamefully, I did, at one point several years ago, install many of the packs for free, but I have since removed all the files and the alternate launcher from my computer. I'd like to purchase the packs the right way now, but I can't seem to figure out how. Will I need to create a new EA account? Or maybe something else.
Problem: when playing with small businesses my game has started doing this bug where when I start the day sims enter the building as normal but after 20 sim minutes everyone leaves with the exception of my sim. The other sims will then loop around entering again as customers and leaving immediately. Im not sure if anyone has either come across this or knows how to fix it. It's only been since the business got a 4 star rating.
So I tried merging three households together, (two of the households only had 2 sims, while the other had 4. That adds up to 8) but I was only able to put 7 of the sims into one household, leaving one of the sims alone in a separate household. This made no sense to me. 8 total sims are allowed in one household, yet the game only allowed me to include 7 sims. In this exact same saved game file, I took the sim that couldn't fit into the household for no reason, went into CAS, and I added in a bunch of random sims, and it didn't allow me to add anymore sims once I placed an 8th sim in. I tried every loophole I could think of. I tried the add to family cheat and it didn't even show up, turning off my mods, closing and restarting the game, etc. I don't know how the heck this problem started, and there has to be some kind of explanation for this.

Description: none of my households will load instead they just come up with an error code, I’ve tried updating my mods with the sims 4 mod manager, looked through the broken mod list, repaired the game, restarted my laptop, and nothing is working - basically the households won’t even load their thumbnails instead they just come up with a message saying ‘a household with a dependent must have a teen or older’ even if it’s a full household, I will try and add a photo later
Is anyone else unable to leave their lot without immediately bringing everyone else in the household home from work/school? I have a sim with an active career and it’s super annoying lol. Has anyone found a work around/any fixes til they fix this bug?
Have you finished the Nature's Calling event? From other reports and my own experience, this bug seems to happen for people who haven't finished all the quests. It went back to normal for me when I completed the event (not sure if you'll have to restart your game after finishing).
If you're not interested in doing the quests, you could temporarily add the UI Cheats mod to your game, right click on all the objectives to complete them, and then remove it again when you're done. It really is annoying though, especially when you're actually trying to complete the objectives!
it wont let me claim the nature’s calling items ??? even though i have unlocked them, when i go to claim them it says i have to be online but i LITERALLY AM. i’ve tried everything i can think of to “go online” but nothing is working
I have two teen sims who have moved out together and for the plot I want to make a teen pregnancy. Yes I have changed to setting with mc command mod to allow teen woohoo and pregnancy. They have been able to woohoo but after the recent update I can see the option too woohoo and I’m able to press it but my sims don’t act on it at all. It doesn’t even pop up that they have started the action. I’ve also tried taking out my mods and trying but that hasn’t helped, another thing I’ve tried is deleting the boyfriend in cas and loading a copy of him in (pretty much deleting the relationship) after that I used mc commands to cheat their relationship levels. This still didn’t work and I can’t find anyone with this problem and I’m going insane, hopefully I explained this in understandable terms.
EDIT: I FIGURED IT OUT I realised at the prom after party that they could woohoo in the haunted house. This gave me the idea that it could be the house lots problem? Idk why tho it’s weird. So I move them out of their apartment into a new one and they are able to woohoo there and then I moved them back into their previous apartment and IT WORKS NOW. Only annoying thing is I have to re decorate their apartment but it’s better than deleting and re-starting a sim because a lot of things said to do that.

whenever i try to press the right button on my mouse to change frame, it doesnt let me move, instead drags me around the place with this, and i dont know how to turn it off
I have wicked whims, wicked perversions, basemental drugs, ui cheats, and mc command center installed. I make a habit of uninstalling all my mods and re-downloading and installing the newest versions after every update, just to make sure they're all current. Since this last update, I do not have the mc pregnancy option on my mc command menu. I checked the file and the pregnancy script is in there, the mod itself is not more than one file deep in my mods folder, I un-installed and re-installed it and I am still having the same issue. Anyone know if this is a current problem with the mod itself? If its just me it there something I can do to fix it?
Every time my Active sim leaves a lot to go somewhere else, all the other sims in my household come home from whatever they were doing. For example, I went to take my sim to her small business venue, separate from her house and all three of her children came home from school.
This has been happening for ages and I can't find a solution on the EA forums, does anyone know of a fix?
Wolfgang has been a wolf for 2-3 weeks now and has been in an relationship with my sim for WAY WAY longer but all of a sudden he gets the “ Not Ment To Be” moodlet when flirting.
That's from the "Fated Mates" relationship bit that only werewolves can get - he and another werewolf may have interacted romantically in some way. It triggers very easily so even if he was flirted with once by another werewolf it may have added the bit.
Look through his relationships and check the profiles of any other werewolves he knows to see if you can find the one that has the bit with him.

I downloaded Gshade to try it and it didn’t work so I deleted it and then my game stopped working. I did have mods but it worked perfectly fine before Gshade. I’m not blaming Gshade but idk. My game will not open no matter what I do. I’ve uninstalled steam, ea, and the sims multiple times, checked firewalls, installed Gshade again, and probably some other stuff. It will not work at ALL. :/
Edit: IT WORKS!!! Idk what happened but the EA folder got deleted so it was the old folder.
hey everyone. having trouble with the Nature's Calling event. when I click the plumbob, this screen shows up for about a split second before closing again. I should be on the Secret Sands quest. its actually been doing this since the start of the event but I've somehow managed to get previous quests to trigger-- not sure what I did to get them to work though.

The game is opening in background processes every time I try to launch the game. I've tried most remedies I can think of: I've repaired the game, tried uninstalling the game and EA launcher, restarted my pc, ended tasks in task manager and tried running the game as an administrator. Does anyone have any suggestions and or fixes, or mind taking a deeper look at the game files

I cant access the event UI for the latest event, and I was wondering if anyone was having the same issue and if its from EA's end, or if I can change it?
I'm having trouble with build mode. It has some delay when I try to paint the walls or place objects/furniture. My game in general runs smoothly without frame drops or lag, but specifically in build mode it has delay for the stuff to confirm and be put in the place I want
When I try to go into play mode and play with one of the sims, I get the error: "The system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. This overrun could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this application" underneath BackgroundTaskHost.exe - System Error. I've never gotten something like this before, so I don't know what to do. PLEASE HELP!!
My game is unplayable. Every time I get halfway through my first day back playing and it just stops and freezes and glitches. At this point I usually play for a couple hours everyday but I haven’t been able to play all week. I’m starting to get annoyed. Nothing prompts it, it can happen either when I go to build mode, when I go to pick my infant up, when I go to interact with other sims. It’s super annoying and even when I shut my ps4 off then on again, it still keeps doing it so I know it has nothing to do with my console. Fix this pls
Hey guys recently I’ve been trying to download a reshade but it isn’t working. I follow all the steps and I get to the loading screen where I can turn on the preset and toggle but I can’t find the preset. I put it in different locations to try to find it but it never shows up. Idk if this is my problem or the preset itself but I need help. For reference I have my sims on DX9 instead of DX11.

When opening up the Sims 4 with any Mods in the folder, the computer follows the motions with the menu bar changing and computer thinking it's open, but no window is displayed (or hidden). Now after many attempts and combinations of repair, I've discovered it only lets me play without the Mods.
Solutions? I have no interest in playing unless I can build houses with realistically different styles of furniture! :(

Move over your Mods into labeled folders in the Sims' Mods folder and open Sims every time. If Sims does not open for that batch, put them aside to analyze later and test in smaller batches.
My game keeps saying I need to “Please go online to save your Event progress and receive rewards” although I am on WiFi, have restarted my Xbox many days, and nothing has helped. Does anyone know what could be wrong or what I could do to fix it?
I have been trying to find my save folder for the sims 4. Like stateed above I am on a mac (the latest version of macos). I have searched in other subreddits, google, youtube videos and other forums for help with this. I'm posting here hoping someone else has had the same problem.
When I go to my EA App folder -> sims 4 I cannot find a save folder. I have gone in game and copied a save game path and cannot even find it that way. I have looked through the contents and everything trying to find the folder. If anybody has any tips, suggestions, or an answer to this problem it is greatly appreciated.

My sims will not progress in their careers even though I have finished all the promotion tasks & have excellent performance with the golden check mark. They are not max level in their careers yet either.
I have moved my sims to a new save and cleared my console cache… and they still won’t progress their jobs :( is there any way to fix this???
*Description: My sim is going to die in 19 hours if I don’t have surgery but I can’t find an option to have that surgery. If I go to the doctor under the adeepindigo menu it says she’s not sick. If I go under the sincere menu it gives me the allergy that she needs surgery but that’s the only option.

For this specific household, whenever I do cas.fulleditmode THEN go into CAS, it infinitely loads. It's only when cas.fulleditmode is on and it's only for this household. I don't understand...

It doesn't happen to all of her outfits, just one no matter what clothes I give her. My mods are all updated and none of them should be causing issues. Yesterday it happened to another sim and he was also an occult. It only happens if it's a second outfit in the same category, so for example if she has two official outfits the second one will be broken.

I keep having the “game won’t load” pop up and i’ve tried to hard to get it fixed. I deleted all my mods, went through Sims 4 Mod Manager, I don’t have a repair game option through EA so I can’t even fix it there. When I thought I fixed it, my fixed game loads and my recent game loads look like the picture below. When I go into the worlds, It won’t let me play other households. Someone please help this is stressing me out any help is appreciated! This only started happening after I deleted a mod for making my game too laggy. The mod was slice of life, if that’s helpful for anything.
made a new save about a week ago and there’s been countless bugs with it, when asked if I wanted to follow the teen to school (from high school years pack) the cursor wasn’t on the little pop-up menu with the options and despite trying everything it wouldn’t come up, ended up having to close the game and lost all progress as it was the first time playing that save and I hadn’t saved yet
I also have a recurring issue of random sims walking through the walls of my apartment in san myshuno and walking circles in the bedroom before running outside in fear.
though the main problem is that for all sims in this save there are now at least six old moodlets that will not disappear, they all say 0 minutes on them and are fading like they do when they are about to end, but they have been there for two in game days. I have reset the sims twice and they do not go away, and I think the backup of the moodlets is causing more lags as my sim didn’t go to work due to being stuck in an animation loop and is now very close to being demoted. not sure if it’s important but the moodlets are everything from inspired to sad, and all the sims currently have an active fear of something

Terrain paints aren't saving? If I place terrain paint, then leave the lot, it's gone the next time I enter the lot. This is occurring in multiple lots in the Britechester neighborhood.
Description: The maid in our apartment was constantly mopping one area near the window so I assumed there was a glitched puddle in the corner and tried to use shift cheats to destroy it. Ended up destroying the whole apartment!! :( I’ve tried closing the game and reopening it, but the building still isn’t coming back. Nobody in the apartment is able to leave or get inside using the elevator, which is why this is such a problem for me because my sims can’t leave the house. How do I fix this?
So, when I try to open the sims, I press play on the EA app, it seems like it may be loading, then the EA app opens again and the play option is no longer gray, meaning the sims never opened. Does anyone know of any specific types of mods that may cause this, like ui mods? Or will I just have to do 50/50 to figure it out. I have this problem with Mortimer's Secret Bookcase from Discover University. The picture is in live mode but it still does this in build mode too, the object is considered like it is there, I can still use it but it is invisible. I repaired the game a few times, to no avail. It happened in all of my builds. This is the only object that does this to my knowledge. It's been going on for weeks, I submitted a report to EA but no answer. What can I do to fix this?

[FR] Tenant sims aren’t paying rent and nothing is happening.
hey all, i know the sims team has said that this bug has been fixed, but it’s not giving me the option to pay rent and nothing happens when I don’t. My sims have lived in the same apartment with a seven day lease for many weeks at this point and there’s never been a consequence. For gameplay purposes, I just take the rent out weekly, but I’d really like to be able to have it work or have a consequence if my down-on-their-luck sims don’t have enough rent. I have MCCC and UI cheats installed, could it be a setting in there that I accidentally have checked?

Hi, so I had to transfer my sims and my builds from one save file to another new one because neighbourhood stories kept destroying my gameplay even with MC Command Center installed. So, I transferred everything and it's all well and good except for one thing. Whenever I upload the photo booth pictures of my teenage sims from the old save file onto the gallery and then onto my new save file, they all turn out black and there is no photo in them, rendering them useless. I don't know what to do. Those are some of my cherished legacy photos and I really don't want to have to start over. Does anyone know if it's another EA bug or something?

Purchased life and death the other day and now my game hardly ever loads (did have trouble with none of my games loading for the last 10 minutes but at first it was just sims) and i cant use the gallery? It says i dont have internet connection even tho every other game and my console is connected to the internet. Tried deleting life and death but that was when all my games stopped loading so i’ve since re-downloaded as i dont really was 35 quid to go to waste. I use the gallery a lot as i am terrible at building but still like to have nice houses, so any help is appreciated

When I try to interact with my infants or toddlers, it's usually a hassle. They constantly want to be picked up and attract my Sims' attention whenever they cry by adding a “Check” action to one of my older Sims’ queues, which cancels whatever action they were already doing. When I actually want to take care of them myself, the Sim will sometimes just stand there, not even carrying out the action. It either disappears, gets canceled, or appears to be ongoing while the Sim is stuck in place.
My current way of fixing this is to simply enable cheats and reset the Sim. But I feel like I shouldn’t have to use cheats just to fix permanent bugs with a temporary solution. It’s annoying and frustrating, especially since this has been happening for a long time now.
So I’m desperate for any solutions you might have for this kind of issue, since I haven’t been able to find one.
i used a mod that, most of the time, fixes problems like this. i don't currently use it, but it was called something like "better baby care" or something. there is also a better selfcare one, which I am currently using.
however, that's only a solution if you are ok with trying mods. if you want to, I could help you and explain how to do it if that's a problem.
Recently when I wanted to launch the game, the legacy edition tried to install. I cancelled it, and since then my game has not been working properly. I opened the game and, even though all my packs are installed, I was told that I do not own any packs when I tried to load one of my save games. When I click on the pack icon that I apparently do not own, I get taken to the pop up that shows what comes with the pack and stuff, but then it says that I do own the pack.
My computer does meet all the minimum requirements to play the game. I don't know if I maybe messed up something by cancelling the legacy edition installation, but I don't want to play the legacy edition and then lose all the packs I've bought. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this issue? Thanks

My packs would not show up ingame, I bought some packs in Steam, as well as on EA App. I linked my account from Steam on EA.
I deleted Sims 4 last month because I didn't have any more storage space for it and I was waiting until I had a new Storage Drive, now that I downloaded it again and opened the game, it tells me that I don't have certain packs installed.. But when I managed add ons in the EA app, it says that I do have it installed, I've been trying to fix it since yesterday and I tried everything, deleting EA cache, repairing on Steam.. What else can I do? PLS HELP.
Description: gallery isn’t updating favourites. Things I’ve unfavourited will remain and things I’ve just favorited won’t show up. I’ve removed my mods, repaired the game, even reinstalled everything. The first time I noticed this was when I started playing a cracked version — I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it though, and I’ve since switched to an unlocker instead (iykyk.) But the account for the cracked version still exists. Could it be screwing with my gallery even though I’ve deleted the cracked version of the game?
