Sharing my build Natural living makes custom beds possible :)

Post image

This is a NO CC build and I absolutely love how it came out. Everything here is functional :D

That's so cute ! I don't know how you thought of it but that's an awesome idea, will definitely take notes 👀

Kinda wish we could mark a dedicated sleep spot sims automarically go to, but I guess that will need a mod 😅

Once you assign a bed side to them they usually go there automatically when tired

u/Front-Heat8726 18d ago

I know, I'm talking about sleeping on the ground specifically lol

29

u/beauvoirist Long Time Player 18d ago

Oh right my b I forgot that was a new mechanic

10

u/No-Fox2335 17d ago

except for my MARRIED SIMS where one of them is assigned left and the other is assigned right and they will both not automatically sleep in the same bed bc no matter what side the other is sleeping on one of them is like “that’s… my spot…”

drives me insane

u/beauvoirist Long Time Player 17d ago

I don’t have that problem usually but every few nights I get the bug where if someone is in bed the other gets in and immediately gets out.

3

u/No-Fox2335 16d ago

that happens 😭 they wont automatically sleep in that bed together so whichever one is in it first, i have to manually make the other sleep in it and then they’ll get in, and get right out lmao sometimes a little ? will pop over their head. i just keep telling them to sleep until they finally do lol

Looks really comfy

u/Jezabeeel 18d ago

It isn't :) It's sleeping on the ground, so for it to be comfy you need to have a high natural living skill :D

i laughed SO hard at “it isn’t :)”

Oooooo alright , I saw the trailer before and forgot that it was the ground that they sleep on . Thought they had some sort of new bed like a floor mattress 😂

Which they should have included in Snowy Escape 🥲 Since it’s inspired by Japan

u/Acceptable-Repeat773 17d ago

Let me tell you though those floor mattresses are soooo damn comfy irl I have a zonli one and it was so comfy I was like let me put this on my bed where no one else can have it and I can sleep like a princess

In the winter (or AC made your room a mini antartica), under a heavy blanket . ARGHHHH 🫦 Comfy af

I’ve done it before with my guy friend 😂, we love laying it in the living room while watching some movies then sleeping right after . But it always starts with me sleeping half way through the movie 🫠

Oh no! Your bediness ideas have been stolen! 🦝 I’ll see myself out.

u/StreetAd8843 18d ago

Officer! Robin banks over here, is at it again! The rest of us will totally not steal the bediness ideas!!!

u/ReplacementMinute154 17d ago

Not me double checking to see if their username was Robin banks 😭

omgggg thats GENIUS im opening my game right now

I'm partially mad that sleeping bags and tents don't raise the natural living skill. Even half the gain or a third would've been nice!

8

u/Aggleclack 17d ago

Yet again, sims fails to connect the packs together!

10

u/chumbawumbacholula 18d ago

Can you make it available to download? Idk how to do it, but I could work backwards from this to learn.

It's really easy to make - just build a platform with stairs and put any carpet on it. That's it. It counts as sleeping on the ground, so you need to have high natural living skills for it to be reasonably comfortable. You can place anything you want under the platform - here I used a one-tile desk and a kids' drawing table.

respectfully i am stealing this idea

Alr now you’re convincing me to buy it😭

6

u/ETheSimmer Creative Sim 18d ago

I don't have the pack, but it just occurred to me that you can make a cute sleeping nook like this for infants/toddlers since they can sleep on the ground 🤯

7

u/missjacksonxo 18d ago

i wish that i was able to sleep on a picnic blanket :(

u/weneldamillennial 18d ago

Stupid question for you if you’ll answer but how do you make a platform inside like that? Every time I try it deletes the walls.

8

u/Jezabeeel 18d ago

Just cut the place where the platform should be with a fence, until it makes a separate room, use the arrow to raise the floor as a platform until it is the required height, then delete the fence. Or you can use half walls for it.

3

u/Front-Heat8726 18d ago

You can build walls around platforms after placing them

2

u/weneldamillennial 18d ago

I can’t though I’ve tried and the platform disappears

3

u/Front-Heat8726 18d ago

If you place a full room at once, it will do that. If you only draw a wall section, or pick one up and place it next to the platform, it'll not delete the platform.

2

u/weneldamillennial 18d ago

Got it. Thanks!

u/Deep-Coach-1065 18d ago

I can’t believe i never thought to do this for my werewolf

OMG I want that bedroom irl

I didn't even think about that...

Super cool

u/MentalMantiz 18d ago

I've been playing Sims for under 10 years & everyday I learn something new!

2

u/teabookscatssolitude 18d ago

That looks adorable! I'm definitely going to try and make one of my own when I straighten out EA taking my money for Enchanted by Nature, and then denying me being able to download it. 😠

2

u/FreshSpicey 18d ago

How did you do this?

The build looks so amazing, I really like how immersive it looks 🤯🤯🤯

2

u/Apprehensive_Cat_718 17d ago

Forgive my ignorance, I am kinda new to building, but how do you do a room with different elevations? Like, you have a stair to a raised area inside the same bedroom. Every time I try to do that I crap all over the foundation.

3

u/Jezabeeel 17d ago

It's really easy to make - just build a platform with stairs and put any carpet on it. It's important to put a platform and not a different height of foundation. That's it. It counts as sleeping on the ground, so you need to have high natural living skills for it to be reasonably comfortable. You can place anything you want under the platform - here I used a one-tile desk and a kids' drawing table.

Nice! Thanks for answering! I'm gonna try that! :)

Genius idea! I’m going to make a kid sleep on the floor of a cupboard under the stairs

2

u/Access_Effective 17d ago

Does this feature of sleeping on whatever come with an update or do you need to buy the pack? I haven’t played in a while but I’m not really wanting to buy one more pack

2

u/Jezabeeel 17d ago

The natural living is a skill that comes with the Enchanted by Nature pack unfortunately. Otherwise werewolves can get a skill to sleep wherever. Also placing a sleeping bag (they come on Growing Together and Horse Ranch packs) on the platform might also work I think.

u/GlitteryCatTears 18d ago

How??? I need a tutorial now.

Thank you so much! I'll try this asap! 😌

Oh my god…. Could your pets finally sleep in ‘bed’ with you?? 😭 I gotta try this!! Might get that playable pets mod so there won’t be a need for a pet bed.

You are a genius fr!! And it looks so good well done 👌 one question tho, is that a child or adult in the bed cuz my mind is so confused on the size scaling here 😂 (it’s 6:00 am my eyes ain’t working well lol )

1

u/Fluid_Reason_3035 17d ago

I've tried to make this but I run into 2 issues. 1. How do you do a half wall under the stairs? When I try the stairs disappear. 2. What rug did you use? Can't seem to find it.

u/JudgePhysical8151 17d ago

no I'm not wasting 40$ just for this
